Chapter 17

~10 min read 1,868 words

Luo Feng sat there drinking, not giving a damn about the Vice Chairman of the Blood Serpent Guild.

After sealing himself away on the Origin Continent for over an eon, his Perfect Divine Body had fully matured to its peak, and he had preliminarily cultivated numerous secret arts, converting a portion of his potential into actual power.

He was no longer limited to just one technique—“Life-Death Blade”—as he had been when fighting Heiduomo. Now, Luo Feng’s fingers itched, eager to test himself against a stronger opponent.

“Among all the factions in Hu Yang City, the truly formidable masters are the top few from the Five Great Families, the leaders of the Nineteen Dark Factions, the heads of major factions’ branches in Hu Yang City, or some reclusive ancient monsters…” Luo Feng, based on intelligence from his friend Sheng Tianyan, preliminarily identified opponents worthy of his interest.

Only those opponents could ignite Luo Feng’s fighting spirit.

How strong could the Blood Serpent Guild’s Vice Chairman, “Lai Mo,” possibly be, if he was merely a vice-chairman in a minor dark faction?

“Your Excellency Luo He, the Vice Chairman himself is coming to visit you?” The Blood Serpent Guild member trembled—he feared that reporting this would make him the target of the Vice Chairman’s wrath.

Luo Feng’s gaze drifted through the hall’s doorway toward the distance: “Your Vice Chairman has heard every word clearly!”

If the Lanxing Hall’s array had blocked sound, outsiders would have been unable to observe. But Luo Feng made no effort to conceal himself—the Lanxing Hall’s array stood wide open, and everything he said… any Eternal True God who cared to watch could see and hear it all!

“Yes, I’ll take my leave.” The Blood Serpent Guild member, terrified, hurried away.

The green-robed attendant inside the hall and A Luo Ya were also extremely tense.

“Your Excellency,” the green-robed attendant whispered, “Vice Chairman Lai Mo is vicious and brutal. If you humiliate him like this, he won’t let it slide.”

“Is this humiliation?” Luo Feng smiled, raising his cup. “You still don’t understand.”

At the Hundred Flowers Banquet.

The Blood Serpent Guild’s Chairman, Mu Yang, and Vice Chairman, Lai Mo, sat side by side; they hadn’t paid much attention to events outside. But the flood of messages delivered by Duan Moyun had left them both irritated.

If something like this happened at Meng Hua Tower, word would spread throughout Hu Yang City. If the Chairman and Vice Chairman did nothing, everyone would assume the Blood Serpent Guild was afraid.

The Blood Serpent Guild was one of the Nineteen Dark Factions of Hu Yang City.

Dark factions ruled through brutality and strength—without strength, they had no right to control territory.

“He’s still an Eternal True God. Talk to him, resolve this small matter,” Chairman Mu Yang said.

“Fine, I’ll handle it.” Lai Mo then ordered his subordinate to deliver the message.

As the message was sent, both men watched from afar.

Meng Hua Tower’s owner, Sheng Tianyan, and several other Eternal True Gods with interest also diverted a fraction of their awareness. Since Luo Feng’s Lanxing Hall had no array to block sound, they saw and heard everything clearly.

“If you want to see me, come to me yourself! Why should I go visit him?” Every Eternal True God paying attention heard Luo Feng’s words.

“This is good!”

“Interesting!”

“He’s not giving the Blood Serpent Guild any face at all.” The Eternal True Gods were both shocked and delighted—they wouldn’t fight each other themselves, but watching two Eternal True Gods clash was far more entertaining than the Hundred Flowers Banquet!

“This unknown Eternal True God isn’t just bold—he’s reckless! The Chairman and Vice Chairman of the Blood Serpent Guild are right here, and he still doesn’t show them respect.”

The Blood Serpent Guild has been entrenched in Hu Yang City for ages. If they swallow this, they’ll become a laughingstock throughout the entire city, so they can’t afford to endure it—they must act! Several Eternal True Gods watching turned their eyes toward the two leaders of the Blood Serpent Guild.

Both Chairman Mu Yang and Vice Chairman Lai Mo had grim expressions.

“Chairman,” Lai Mo’s blood-red eyes blazed with ferocity, “this can’t be tolerated! If we do, we’ll be mocked by the whole of Hu Yang City!”

“We don’t have the powerful backing of the Five Great Families,” Chairman Mu Yang murmured. “The Blood Serpent Guild’s territory was won by blood. Our dark faction’s reputation was forged by blood. Since he refuses to show respect, let’s see just how much power he truly has.”

“I’ll go check his background,” Lai Mo rose. “A fool who can’t even withstand illusion arts—let’s see where his arrogance comes from.”

“Never underestimate any Eternal True God,” Chairman Mu Yang warned.

“Don’t worry.”

Lai Mo walked straight out.

“Vice Chairman Lai Mo, we’re all guests invited to my Hundred Flowers Banquet…” Meng Hua Tower’s owner said.

“This is none of your concern, Tower Owner,” Lai Mo’s entire body shimmered with terrifying radiance, his aura spreading as he strode directly toward Lanxing Hall, covering vast distances in mere steps until he stood before the hall.

Seeing this, Meng Hua Tower’s owner could only follow—two Eternal True Gods clashing was happening in her own tower; how could she stand idly by?

“My new friend Luo He isn’t just fierce—he’s terrifying! I wouldn’t dare provoke the Blood Serpent Guild, yet he dares to ignore them so openly!” Sheng Tianyan was stunned.

“The Nineteen Dark Factions all earned their reputations through bloodshed—they’ve even made the City Lord’s Mansion wary,” Bai Wu Jun, himself a member of a dark faction, knew well the Blood Serpent Guild’s strength. “The Blood Serpent Guild isn’t easy to provoke.”

This is amazing! Far more entertaining than the Hundred Flowers Banquet! The two Eternal True Gods from the Qu Meng Clan were genuinely thrilled.

“All these dark factions are dangerous. Let’s see what happens when this Eternal True God provokes the Blood Serpent Guild.” Though high-ranking, they too feared the Blood Serpent Guild.

Dark factions usually had no great backing—but their power was terrifying!

… Suddenly, over a dozen Eternal True Gods all gazed toward Lanxing Hall, with Meng Hua Tower’s owner closely following.

Inside Lanxing Hall, the green-robed attendant and A Luo Ya stood in the corner, utterly tense.

“Something big is about to happen,” the green-robed attendant Yu Luo was panicked. Based on her experience living in Hu Yang City, openly humiliating the Blood Serpent Guild meant they would strike back.

“Is this because of me?” A Luo Ya worried and blamed herself—she knew that by now, she was no longer relevant.

“Here he comes,” Mo Luo Sa, in the corner, watched the hall’s entrance with gleaming eyes.

Luo Feng remained seated, calmly drinking.

Vice Chairman Lai Mo appeared at the hall’s entrance, terrifying aura spreading across his body, his blood-red eyes fixed on Luo Feng as he grinned: “You told me to come visit you personally? Here I am!”

“Say what you came to say,” Luo Feng continued pouring himself wine, not even glancing at him.

Seeing this, Lai Mo’s fury turned to a bitter laugh.

Meng Hua Tower’s owner, who had just arrived, realized there was no stopping this now.

“I heard you’re extremely arrogant—you don’t respect the Mo Li Clan, Meng Hua Tower, or my Blood Serpent Guild. I wanted to resolve this peacefully, but you’re even more insane than I imagined!” Lai Mo shook his head. “You know things have gone too far to be easily settled. I’ll give you one last chance to apologize and beg for mercy—hand over ten thousand Cosmic Sands as compensation, and we’ll let it go. Otherwise… hmmm…”

!.

Lai Mo’s eyes grew even more murderous.

The total value of the treasures on Heiduomo, whom Luo Feng had slain, had been just over ten thousand Cosmic Sands.

Many newly risen Eternal True Gods couldn’t even afford that much!

Ten thousand Cosmic Sands was a massive sum—forcing Luo Feng to pay that much would give the Blood Serpent Guild ample face.

“Enough talk,” Luo Feng, holding his cup, spoke softly. “Either fight me now, or get the hell out.”

Vice Chairman Lai Mo froze.

All the Eternal True Gods watching from afar were stunned—this new Eternal True God, “Luo He,” was terrifyingly aggressive! Such a bold and ruthless Eternal True God was rare in Hu Yang City.

Normal Eternal True Gods were cautious—they rarely dared to fight.

“Good, good, good!” Lai Mo extended his right hand, and a black scepter materialized.

Instantly, his aura erupted—his divine power ignited. Luo Feng’s utter disrespect had made Lai Mo deeply wary. He unleashed his most powerful technique from the start.

Except for not revealing his true form, Lai Mo had fully unleashed himself!

“Shatter!” Lai Mo swung the black scepter—it split like chaos itself, carrying a terrifying intent to annihilate all things, striking Luo Feng’s face in an instant.

In terms of power and technique, Lai Mo was roughly equal to “Heiduomo.”

But Luo Feng was no longer the Luo Feng who had just arrived on the Origin Continent.

“Hmph.”

Luo Feng’s left hand swept lightly, his palm like a blade, unleashing the “Life-Death Blade.”

As his palm touched the black scepter, intent on shattering all things, the full power of his perfected Divine Body—enhanced and grown to its peak—exploded through his hand.

“Huh?” Lai Mo’s blood-red eyes widened in shock—he felt an unstoppable force crush down upon him. The black scepter reversed course and slammed into his own body, while a slash of blade-light sliced through Lai Mo’s form.

Lai Mo’s body offered no resistance—the blade-light passed through him as life and death turned in unison.

“Stop!” Chairman Mu Yang of the Blood Serpent Guild, watching from afar, was horrified—but he was too late to save him. The exchange between Eternal True Gods was simply too fast.

Luo Feng remained seated, his left hand gripping a glowing “True God Heart.”

One clash.

Lai Mo’s “True God Heart” was already in Luo Feng’s palm.

“Spare me, spare me!” The surface of the True God Heart formed Lai Mo’s terrified face, begging frantically.

The black scepter and other personal treasures floated before Luo Feng. He flicked them with his right hand, then shook his head slightly: “Still pretty poor.”

The stunned Meng Hua Tower’s owner quickly spoke: “Your Excellency Luo He, please show mercy—you are both honored guests of my Meng Hua Tower…”

“I’ll give the Tower Owner face,” Luo Feng said, gathering his spoils while observing the True God Heart in his left hand. “Vice Chairman Lai Mo, I’ll give you one last chance—pay me twenty thousand Cosmic Sands as compensation, and I’ll spare your life.”

“I’m being merciful—your weapons and treasures count toward this. You only need to pay an additional twelve thousand Cosmic Sands.”

“Pay, and live. Refuse, and don’t blame me.” Luo Feng stared at the True God Heart in his palm.

The other Eternal True Gods attending the Hundred Flowers Banquet all felt invisible pressure—even some felt their own True God Hearts trembling.

At this moment, they realized… a terrifying new force had arrived in Hu Yang City.
