Chapter 266: Book Six: Ultimate Realization of the Dao
The Origin Continent has entered its final phase, estimated to perish in just a few billion eons. These Emperor Lords and Sovereigns, unable to comprehend the complete Dao, must depart before its dissolution.
They now compete for resources even more openly.
Only because Luo Feng established the rule “Great Sinners Must Die” has the number of Shenwang cultivators on the Origin Continent who devour billions of lives to avoid annihilation not grown further.
“The Tianzhu Realm guard duty, Luo He’s term has ended,” said the reigning Emperor Husband with a smile. “A new guest minister must be chosen. Please suggest candidates.”
The Emperor Husband could appoint directly.
But even he has limited authority to forcibly assign prime missions to royal clan members. This time, he clearly put the Tianzhu Realm duty up for competition among the other Emperor Lords.
In the end, the mission still went to Emperor Yan and his group.
Emperor Yan, Emperor Xi, and Emperor Wu, working together, knew Emperor Yuan was dead and Emperor Qing stayed neutral. With the reigning Emperor Husband not competing, their small faction had the strongest edge.
Emperor Kong, Emperor Xuan, Emperor Jiufeng, Emperor Wu, Emperor You, Emperor Ming, and Emperor Chu were all somewhat independent.
“The next mission: guarding the ‘Heaven-Earth Labyrinth’…” the Emperor Husband continued.
One mission after another was assigned.
“The next task: guarding the ‘Fire Prison Realm.’ The Fire Prison Realm cultivates multiple types of Hunyuan bloodline creatures at the Shenwang Second Layer realm. To serve as guardian, one must be at least Shenwang Second Layer.” The Emperor Husband said. “Who wants this mission?”
“I claim the Fire Prison Realm guard duty,” said Emperor Chu.
“Isn’t Luo He the one from your Chu line best suited for this mission?” Emperor Yan frowned. “You just assigned him Tianzhu Realm guard duty—now you’re sending him to Fire Prison Realm? Are you giving him all the good assignments? Our royal clan must maintain discipline! These guest ministers must earn their rewards through sufficient merit and hardship.”
Emperor Chu was puzzled: “Isn’t guarding the Fire Prison Realm just hard labor?”
“Everyone knows Luo He cultivates the Path of Life. The methods used in the Fire Prison Realm to cultivate Hunyuan bloodline creatures contain profound secrets of life—how can you let him casually observe them?” Emperor Yan said.
The Ancestor Yanfeng could only reliably cultivate Hunyuan bloodline creatures of Shenwang Second Layer strength. Occasionally, a single Ultimate Layer Hunyuan bloodline creature would appear.
“I claim this mission,” said Emperor Wu. “I intend to personally guard the Fire Prison Realm and study the mysteries of life.”
He too cultivated the Path of Life, but had never comprehended the Dao.
With Emperor Wu’s declaration, all others withdrew.
When competing for missions, priority always went to Emperor Lords.
Moments later—
All missions were assigned. The Emperor Lords departed one by one.
“Emperor Yan,” the Emperor Husband called out, keeping Yan behind.
“What is it?” Emperor Yan looked at his old friend.
“Emperor Yan, your hostility toward Luo He… Emperor Chu will surely tell his disciples,” the Emperor Husband said. “You’ve made an enemy of Luo He.”
Emperor Yan replied calmly: “We’ve been enemies for a long time.”
The three of them—Yan, Xi, and Wu—had long been allied and hostile toward Chu, and Luo He was inevitably caught in it.
“Besides, the Origin Continent’s resources are finite,” Emperor Yan said coolly. “Luo He’s talent is too high! If we don’t hold him back, he’ll surge even further—and take resources that should belong to us.”
“You couldn’t tolerate Zongfu before,” the Emperor Husband sighed lightly. “Now you can’t tolerate Luo He.”
“We must venture beyond the Source World—everything must be fought for!” Emperor Yan’s eyes turned icy. “We must strengthen ourselves—and suppress powerful rivals.”
“Your actions may bring karmic backlash,” the Emperor Husband warned.
“If we’re going to fight, why fear backlash?” Emperor Yan sneered, then left.
The Emperor Husband said nothing more.
“After five hundred eons of detailed observation, I am nearly certain: Luo He is the Galactic Lord,” the Emperor Husband sighed inwardly. “Emperor Yan, your methods are brutal—but this time, you’ve met a wall of iron.”
Emperor Yan and his allies had struck repeatedly—Zongfu Shenwang, Guixu Shenwang, and others one by one.
Some Shenwang clans were wiped out entirely!
Others barely survived with a few remnants.
Zongfu Shenwang and Guixu Shenwang carried such intense hatred because their entire families were gone.
Luo Feng had risen too quickly and revealed no conspicuous treasures—so Yan and the others had never moved against him.
…
Tianzhu Realm.
Before a towering celestial pillar, Luo Feng stood, observing closely.
His observation was multi-layered: distant viewing through his Eye of Birth and Death, spiritual awareness permeating and sensing, and ordinary cage-bound life’s perspective.
Multiple angles, mutually reflecting.
“Boom—boom—boom~~~”
Luo Feng’s Eye of Birth and Death “saw” a furious, surging black river, wild and unrestrained, sweeping away all in its path.
“These are secrets of life within the Hunyuan space—far deeper and vaster than the ‘Path of Life’ within the Supreme Rules.” Luo Feng studied.
The Path of Life in the Supreme Rules contained all secrets of life within the Origin Continent.
But what of wider space?
Within the Hunyuan space, there are countless Source Worlds, countless more worlds, vast numbers of innate Hunyuan lifeforms, and far greater mysteries… The ‘secrets of life’ in the Hunyuan space dwarf those of the Origin Continent by an incalculable margin.
“Thirty-six celestial pillars, nine Daos—each Dao has four pillars, four different directions,” Luo Feng thought. “The Elder Yuan and others truly poured their hearts into this—these pillars are lamps lit in darkness, illuminating the path.”
Each Dao, within the Tianzhu Realm, reveals four directions—all paths beyond the cage.
“Luo He, I’ve come to relieve you of your Tianzhu Realm guard duty,” said a gray-robed elder, arriving at one entrance of the Tianzhu Realm and encountering one of Luo Feng’s guard avatars.
“Your thousand-eon term is complete—it’s time to hand over. Come with me to meet Emperor Xuan,” Luo Feng said.
For him, whether he served as Tianzhu Realm guard meant little.
As the Galactic Lord, he could freely contemplate the thirty-six celestial pillars within the Tianzhu Realm.
“Very well.”
The gray-robed elder and Luo Feng went together to meet Emperor Xuan, then formally transferred duties.
Luo Feng had completed one mission.
Please… collect… 6…9…books…!
Now, Luo Feng had only one remaining mission in the Yanfeng Ancient Nation: guarding the Xiangjie City. Originally, his conflict with Yan Su had sentenced him to guard Xiangjie City for ten thousand eons—there was still a long way to go before completion.
…
Today, Huyang City was surrounded by five continuous mountain ranges, forming a vast array that fully protected the city.
If a powerful being could peer into the subterranean structure of these five ranges, they would discover… the mountain roots were even vaster, ultimately merging into a single colossal whole, resembling a giant claw.
“Innate treasure: ‘Palm Realm,’” Luo Feng thought. Over five hundred eons, even with his strength and Eye of Birth and Death, he had obtained only one innate treasure from the Dream Realm’s depths.
This innate treasure was a furry little claw, naturally imbued with infinite mysterious patterns. When activated, a realm naturally formed in the palm.
Luo Feng named it “Palm Realm.”
After refining and mastering it, he placed the little claw beneath Huyang City—the five mountain ranges visible on the surface were merely the tip of the iceberg.
“Only a few on the Origin Continent can perceive the wonders of this innate treasure,” Luo Feng thought. “Perhaps this will let them guess I am the Galactic Lord.”
Whether he was exposed, Luo Feng did not care.
Originally, he planned to buy a cave-like array treasure from Emperor Qing to protect Huyang City and the Dao River Sect’s headquarters—but this innate treasure was far more suitable.
Luo Feng activated only a fraction of its power, and the innate treasure effortlessly reached the Origin Continent’s maximum power limit.
“The Dream Realm is truly wondrous—it naturally gives birth to treasures.”
“Compared to that, life on the Origin Continent is far simpler,” Luo Feng walked across a wasteland, observing the surrounding plants, trees, and distant monstrous beasts.
He saw at a glance the source of life for all these plants, trees, and beasts.
Everything stemmed from the Origin Continent’s energy source, absorbed by living beings, who in turn grew stronger.
“What is cultivation?”
“Cultivation is finding ways to absorb more energy, continuously evolving one’s lifeform—within the operation of the Supreme Rules, the stronger the lifeform becomes…”
As Luo Feng walked, the surrounding trees and plants grew rapidly.
Trees surged upward—hundreds of millions of kilometers, billions, trillions—while simultaneously developing consciousness, beginning to think, beginning to contemplate heaven and earth.
Flowers and grasses also grew—some rooted deep in earth, others penetrating the void.
Distant monstrous beasts also transformed—Void True God, Eternal True God, Chaos, Shenwang. One by one, they directly evolved into Shenwang level—but their minds were too weak, their wisdom too low, unable to control such massive bodies, and they exploded with a loud pop.
“I could awaken them—but only if their spiritual will is strong enough to control such bodies,” Luo Feng shook his head. “Under my guidance, they can naturally evolve into bodies at the peak of Shenwang Second Layer—but finding a spiritual will that strong is exceedingly rare.”
“Master.”
The towering tree coalesced into the form of an old man, bowing respectfully.
A plant rooted in the earth transformed into a woman, bowing respectfully.
A flying monstrous beast took the form of a young man, bowing respectfully.
All three possessed Chaos Layer strength—though all were externally awakened.
“Awakening Shenwang-level life is not easy,” Luo Feng smiled. “The Path of Life holds infinite mysteries.”
While simultaneously awakening countless lives, Luo Feng had fully comprehended the Path of Life.
The operation of the Path of Life within the Supreme Rules held no more confusion.
How does life originate?
How does it form?
How does it grow?
How does it evolve?
All secrets resided within his mind!
