Chapter 69: Spiritual Transformation (Part 1)
Luo Feng sat alone atop the cave mountain, watching fine rain drift across the heavens and earth.
Of the Three Thousand Void Catastrophe Beast Diagrams, Luo Feng had only immersed himself in comprehending eight layers before pausing—partly because his spirit felt weary and needed rest, partly because he needed to stop and carefully reflect.
“The Catastrophe Beast’s experiences differ from those of normal cultivators,” Luo Feng mused. “It is born facing endless trials, each one designed to drive it to utter despair, to total death.”
The world of cultivators still has order.
The Catastrophe Beast knows only endless ‘trials’—if at any moment it surrenders to despair, it dies.
Only with an ‘indestructible heart’ can one survive endless trials!
“Each trial refines it; surviving means rebirth from flames. Yet what awaits it is always the next trial… This endless cycle of trials—merely contemplating their essence makes my blood run cold,” Luo Feng thought silently.
He too had endured hardship, faced life-and-death tests—but nothing compared to the Catastrophe Beast’s suffering.
“Each successive trial that descended felt like some supreme, lofty rule,” Luo Feng pondered. He vaguely sensed this lofty rule differed from the Supreme Rule.
“The spirit seems the most fragile.”
“Once the spirit’s will is shattered and collapsed, even the strongest divine body or most powerful artifact cannot unleash its power.”
“But if the spirit is strong, mere will alone can sweep away mighty foes.”
“The spirit… is a weakness, yet also the mightiest weapon.”
At this moment, Luo Feng felt a certain admiration for the Catastrophe Beast—having endured so many terrifying trials, it ultimately reached the other shore, utterly transformed.
Suddenly—
Luo Feng sensed the Star Tower within him: Mo Luo Sa demanded to be let out.
“Master, Master, let me out!” Mo Luo Sa sent a mental message.
Luo Feng shifted his intent, and Mo Luo Sa appeared beside him. Mo Luo Sa gazed at the drizzling rain outside, stretched out comfortably, and fondled his belly with satisfaction.
“The Blood Cloud corpse still rests inside the Star Tower—why are you resting?” Luo Feng looked at him; he knew every detail within the Star Tower.
“I’m a bit full,” Mo Luo Sa lay comfortably, sending a mental message. “I absorbed other Eternal True Gods’ corpses—they helped little. But Yu Tianhu’s corpse was too powerful, its bloodline unusually rare. After absorbing it, I’m overwhelmed—I can’t digest it yet.”
Even a World Beast can become overfull if it eats too fast.
Yu Tianhu’s bloodline cultivation path allowed his divine body to rival an Infinite Divine Body—demonstrating the terrifying power of bloodlines.
“You too can get overfull?” Luo Feng teased mentally.
“I feel that after digesting for a while—even without absorbing any more divine corpses—I’ll reach the Chaos Realm within dozens of eons,” Mo Luo Sa stood up excitedly, sending a mental message. “Master, if I keep absorbing the Blood Cloud corpse later… I’m certain I’ll reach the Chaos Realm right after finishing it.”
Luo Feng was stunned.
“That soon?” Luo Feng stared at him.
“Yu Tianhu’s divine body rivals an Infinite Divine Body—just smaller in volume—but his bloodline is extraordinary. The Blood Cloud corpse… its allure to me is even greater than Yu Tianhu’s,” Mo Luo Sa sent mentally. “I’m certain: after absorbing the Blood Cloud corpse, I will definitely achieve the Chaos Realm.”
“Master, when will you reach the Chaos Realm?” Mo Luo Sa asked mentally, deliberately.
Luo Feng looked at him: “How’s your will cultivation? Shall we spar with will techniques inside the Star Tower later?”
Mo Luo Sa grinned sheepishly.
“Go teach Qingyan. That boy still hasn’t grasped the Ten Fundamental Laws,” Luo Feng urged.
“Yes, yes, yes,” Mo Luo Sa dared not boast—he instantly became a blur and flew down the mountain to find Mo Yu Qingyan.
Luo Feng shook his head slightly.
…
Days passed. Luo Feng rested only every few days; the rest of his time was spent comprehending the Catastrophe Beast Diagrams.
Then, one day—
“Master, Master!” Mo Yu Qingyan sent an urgent message.
“What is it?” Luo Feng was deep in the underground hall within the Star Tower, studying the Catastrophe Beast Diagrams—he knew Mo Yu Qingyan would not disturb him lightly.
“There’s a messenger. He says it’s a personal letter from Marquis Liu Yin,” Mo Yu Qingyan was under great pressure—a personal letter from a Chaos Sovereign—he dared not withhold it from his master.
Boom—
The door to the underground hall opened.
Luo Feng stepped out, his figure flashing instantly to the cave’s main gate.
“Luohe Shenjun,” a rock-born being stood at the gate, smiling warmly. “I’m Chen Shi Jiu of the Qianshi Guild. I’ve been entrusted by Marquis Liu Yin of Shi State to deliver this personal letter.”
The Qianshi Guild was a vast merchant network spanning multiple states, backed by several Divine Kings, with a branch in Huyang City as well.
“Thank you, Chief Chen,” Luo Feng knew the man’s identity.
“Just delivering a letter—I’ll take my leave,” the rock-born being smiled. As head of the Qianshi Guild’s Huyang branch, his status and influence were top-tier in the city—but he remained humble before Luo Feng.
Luo Feng took the letter and watched the man depart.
The gate closed. Luo Feng flashed instantly to the mountain summit and prepared to open the letter.
As he broke the outer seal—hum!
The letter burst into flames, igniting into a pool of crimson fire, startling Luo Feng slightly.
“Divine Force avatar?” Luo Feng immediately recognized: the letter concealed a terrifying thread of divine power—opening it had triggered it.
The crimson flame coalesced into a figure clad in dark red armor, faintly radiating an aura of dark calamity. He smiled at Luo Feng, his eyes twin flames of burning crimson.
Even as he smiled, Luo Feng felt overwhelming darkness and terror, laced with intense threat.
“Marquis Liu Yin?” Luo Feng knew some basic intelligence on him.
“It’s me,” Marquis Liu Yin nodded with a smile. “I heard a remarkable Eternal True God emerged in Huyang City—I came to see you myself.”
“Your Grace flatters me. Compared to you, we Eternal True Gods are nothing,” Luo Feng replied immediately.
“Today you are an Eternal True God; perhaps someday you’ll become a Chaos Sovereign—my peer,” Marquis Liu Yin gazed across the vast city. “Huyang City is beautiful. I intend to make it part of my domain. What do you think?”
Luo Feng replied at once: “The conflict between Liu Yin Chaos State and Jiujiang Chaos State—how could an Eternal True God like me decide?”
Marquis Liu Yin gazed at the boundless heavens and earth, sighing: “The Origin Continent is a tangle of factions—every resource has an owner! Even Divine Kings often have no chance to touch the most precious resources.”
!.
“To climb the path of cultivation, to evolve to a higher life stage—self-cultivation is one part, resources are another,” Marquis Liu Yin looked at Luo Feng. “A Chaos Sovereign’s domain produces resources endlessly. Unfortunately, I have only one Chaos State domain—it’s too small!”
Luo Feng listened.
“According to Shi State’s rules, a Chaos Sovereign holds only one Chaos State domain. To gain more? You must seize it yourself,” Marquis Liu Yin said. “Jiujiang Chaos State borders mine—it’s my ideal target.”
“For my cultivation path, I must expand my domain,” Marquis Liu Yin declared. “No one shall stop me. Whoever stands in my way—blocks my path of cultivation.”
Marquis Liu Yin’s voice carried unshakable will.
“If Jiang Hou stands in my way, I will deal with him myself,” Marquis Liu Yin looked at Luo Feng. “At the Eternal True God level, your strength alone surpasses the entire Huyang City garrison. I hope you won’t interfere.”
“If you don’t interfere, I’ll offer you a gift—we can be friends.”
“If you interfere… ruin my plans…” Marquis Liu Yin stared at Luo Feng. “Think carefully—is it worth dying for a stranger like Jiang Hou?”
With that, Marquis Liu Yin’s figure dissolved.
Having studied Luo Feng’s dossier, Marquis Liu Yin knew Luo Feng despised evil and was hard to sway—so he came to intimidate him. If Luo Feng retreated, fine. If not, he lost nothing.
“This Marquis Liu Yin clearly wants to seize Jiujiang Chaos State,” Luo Feng frowned slightly—clearly, Chaos Sovereigns cared deeply about the endless resource output of their domains.
“I must be more cautious in my actions,” Luo Feng thought.
In truth, Luo Feng had never intended to fight to the death for Jiang Hou! Whether from the usual conduct of the five noble families in the city hall, or his need to lie low to face the future rulers of Shi State, there was no reason to put himself in danger.
“Marquis Liu Yin came to me personally—Huyang City, even the entire Jiujiang Chaos State, is about to face war,” Luo Feng thought for a moment, then returned to the underground hall.
The fate of Jiujiang Chaos State—those who should be anxious are Jiang Hou and the Yu Kingdom’s Divine Kings, not me. What little benefit could I gain? Not worth dying for.
Inside the Star Tower.
Luo Feng sat cross-legged, gazing at the floating Three Thousand Void Catastrophe Beast Diagrams.
“Layer 533: the Catastrophe Beast endured trial after trial, and during this time, it encountered companions,” Luo Feng saw, on the projected void map, other Catastrophe Beast-like creatures. “But one by one, his companions fell—even some were killed by the Catastrophe Beast himself.”
…
“Layer 679: the Catastrophe Beast had no companions left. Now, it was lonelier—and stronger. Its spiritual will had grown terrifying; every trial it faced, it overcame…”
Luo Feng faintly perceived a path of spiritual cultivation—the Catastrophe Beast’s own spiritual cultivation method.
By the six-hundredth layer, the Catastrophe Beast’s spiritual will had reached an utterly terrifying level—far beyond Luo Feng’s current state, capable of annihilating vast heavens and earth with a single thought, dissolving even formless rules of trial.
Just comprehending a fragment of it made Luo Feng’s own spirit slowly transform.
…
“Layer 852: the Catastrophe Beast encountered its most terrifying trial yet—a rival Catastrophe Beast. The two engaged in mortal combat.”
“This terrifying battle lasted long—until Layer 873 of the void projection, the Catastrophe Beast emerged victorious. This victory triggered a major transformation.”
Merely observing the Three Thousand Void Catastrophe Beast Diagrams, absorbing even a fraction of their essence, felt as if Luo Feng himself had grown alongside the Catastrophe Beast—and he gained much.
“The spirit can be vast or small—vast enough to oppose the Supreme Rule, small enough to merge with countless weak beings.”
“When countless weak beings merge as one, they can rival the Supreme Rule.”
At Layer 873, when the Catastrophe Beast achieved final victory and transformation, Luo Feng perceived even more of its spiritual cultivation method—and his own spirit slowly transformed.
“Boom~~~”
Even as a True God, his will had already reached the peak of a Chaos Sovereign.
Under the nurturing of his powerful divine body, honed by the Lie Yuan Technique, aided by countless resources—and especially from glimpsing a fragment of the Catastrophe Beast’s ‘spiritual cultivation method’—Luo Feng’s spiritual will finally shattered its bottleneck.
Today, June 8th, coincidentally also Luo Feng’s birthday. On this day, his spiritual will broke through to the Divine King level—truly fitting.
