Chapter 84: Blade Light Splits the Void
Luo Feng wasn’t surprised; he had long known that the Origin Continent was a brutal world, where tribes living in the wild could vanish without a trace one day, and where Chaos Dominators and ancient Divine Kings, once they moved, could destroy heaven and earth.
Among practitioners of every level, some were benevolent, some cold and solitary, and some slaughtered all life merely for their own cultivation.
This was the natural law of the strong preying on the weak under heaven and earth.
“Practitioners who slaughter all life for their own gain are worthless scum! Destroying such scum is also part of heaven and earth’s natural order,” Luo Feng thought, “but my power is limited.”
Even ancient Divine Kings could not alter the order of the Origin Continent.
At this moment, Mo Luo Sa and Mo Yu Qingyan were waiting for Luo Feng to decide.
“Qingyan,” Luo Feng looked at Mo Yu Qingyan, “where are your other family members?”
“My father is inside the Marquis’s mansion; it’s now sealed, so he can’t return,” Mo Yu Qingyan explained. “My eldest brother’s family is at home, and my younger sister is pregnant and resting there as well.”
“The situation has turned dire. I plan to leave the city,” Luo Feng said. “Would your family be willing to come with me?”
“Of course,” Mo Yu Qingyan nodded. “I’ve already sent word to my father; he said to follow your orders entirely.”
“Good.” Luo Feng turned to Mo Luo Sa. “Luo Sa, go to Dream Flower Tower and rescue the Tower’s mistress, A Luo Ya, and their companions.”
Mo Luo Sa’s eyes lit up; he immediately sent a mental message: “Master, if I act inside the city, the Heart Shadow Sect and the Marquis’s mansion will notice. How much of my power should I reveal?”
“Match the strength of the Heart Eye Elder. Your methods can be more ruthless—but control the power,” Luo Feng replied mentally; the outside world had long suspected him of being an elite cultivated by a major force.
Especially after he refused the Yu Kingdom’s sovereign’s recruitment, everyone speculated that he had a powerful master and assumed Mo Luo Sa was his guardian.
Then let their speculation become truth!
“Understood.” Mo Luo Sa had long wanted to act; now that the Master permitted it, he could finally show a hint of his fangs.
“Begin.” Luo Feng waved his hand and sealed away Mo Yu Qingyan.
Luo Feng and Mo Luo Sa both flashed away, vanishing instantly.
…
Inside the Marquis’s mansion.
Mo Yu Hu stood alone in a chamber.
“Third son,” Mo Yu Hu’s heart shattered when he heard the news; after his wife’s death, his three children were the only things he cared about in this world—he valued them more than his own life.
His friendship with Luo He and the treasures he obtained were all used to secure opportunities for his children.
Now, the third son was gone.
“I always knew the world was like this,” Mo Yu Hu’s heart burned with fierce hatred, “but I cannot avenge him.”
“It’s the Heart Shadow Sect! The Heart Shadow Sect, which even the entire Nine Jiang Chaos Region struggles to match.” Mo Yu Hu felt helpless and tormented; even the high-ranking Marquis of Nine Jiang was scrambling to gather strength—what could a mere Void True God like him do?
“My greatest fortune was meeting Luo He Shenjun back then,” Mo Yu Hu thought. “I hope Luo He Shenjun is safe, and that he leads Lie Feng and Qingyan out of Hu Yang City.”
The Mo Yu family’s estate.
“Heart Shadow Sect!” Mo Yu Liefeng stood by the lake, tears in his eyes, face twisted with rage. “You killed my brother—I, Mo Yu Liefeng, swear this life, no matter how many eons pass, I will seek vengeance at any cost!”
Of the three brothers, the eldest, Mo Yu Liefeng, was the most talented, the most ferocious, and the most bloodthirsty.
The third son was the most reserved, only wishing to cultivate in quiet peace—who would have thought he’d be the first to die?
In this world, you cannot simply wish for quiet cultivation and get it.
Suddenly—
A figure in black robes stepped out from a ripple in space, appearing above the estate.
Mo Yu Liefeng immediately bowed respectfully: “Shenjun! We’re all ready!”
Luo Feng nodded, waved his hand, and sealed away every living being and structure within the entire Mo Yu family estate.
“Next, the nine alchemy workshops. Entropy Brother, this is all I can do for you,” Luo Feng thought.
Whoosh.
One step, and Luo Feng vanished through space.
Though the Heart Shadow Sect’s dark array suppressed space more strongly, Luo Feng’s understanding of space had reached profound depths—especially with the ‘Vein of the Void-Deriving Mother Tree Leaf’ in his possession. It not only resonated more deeply with space, but observing it regularly had also granted him insights.
…
After the Heaven Flame Sect disbanded, its disciples scattered.
Some joined other factions, some established their own alchemy workshops; the largest among them were the nine alchemy workshops. The Mo Yu Alchemy Workshop, founded by Mo Yu Liuxing and his wife Mo Youshang, was particularly renowned, covering a thousand million kilometers.
The Mo Yu family had deep roots in Hu Yang City: their father served under the deputy mayor, Mo Li Meng; the eldest son was the direct disciple of Zhuang Shi Clan’s Eternal True God, Zhu You; the second son was Luo He Shenjun’s servant—Luo He Shenjun had only two servants total.
Thus, many Heaven Flame Sect disciples followed Mo Yu Liuxing and Mo Youshang.
“Take all treasures.”
In the Mo Yu Alchemy Workshop, every weapon, treasure, inventory, and material—whether displayed for sale or stored—was now being looted by Heart Shadow Sect disciples.
Moreover, many alchemists in the workshop were being searched, stripped of all treasures, not even a single Chaos Stone left behind.
“Huh.” A figure flashed into view—the arrival of Luo Feng, having traversed space.
“Who dares intrude into our Heart Shadow Sect’s sealed zone?” The surrounding Heart Shadow Sect disciples were stunned; the three colossal mechanical treasures hovering above scanned the area.
Luo Feng ignored them, instead fixing his gaze on the alchemists, apprentices, and guests—all standing frozen, too terrified to move.
“Luo He Shenjun,” most of the alchemists and apprentices were from the Heaven Flame Sect and recognized Luo Feng.
“How did Mo Yu Liuxing die?” Luo Feng asked.
“Who are you?”
A furious shout came from outside.
“Shut up! That’s Luo He Shenjun!” The agitated Heart Shadow Sect disciples instantly fell silent.
Luo Feng paid no attention to the outside, only watching the alchemists.
One burly alchemist immediately spoke: “Shenjun, today Heart Shadow Sect disciples arrived suddenly, said nothing, merely pointed a finger—and dozens of alchemists, apprentices, and guests died instantly. The entire workshop fell silent. Only then did they announce that all treasures and materials belonged to the Heart Shadow Sect, and every Void True God must surrender their belongings and submit to a body search.”
“Master Mo Yu, as owner of the workshop, merely said, ‘We’ll surrender our treasures—can you please skip the body search?’” The burly alchemist’s voice cracked with grief. “The moment he spoke, the Heart Shadow Sect leader pointed again—and Master Mo Yu, along with the surrounding alchemists, apprentices, and guests, all vanished.”
!
“You dare speak so boldly!”
Three figures entered from outside; the leader wore purple robes, his body seemingly formed from solidified black liquid, eyes icy. He bowed to Luo Feng: “Heart Shadow Sect disciple Chan Wuqi greets Luo He Shenjun.”
“You killed all those alchemists with two casual finger points?” Luo Feng stared at him.
“Yes,” Chan Wuqi said. “The Heart Shadow Sect is merciful—this war tax targets only Eternal True Gods and Void True Gods. To ensure smooth collection, deterrence is necessary.”
“That’s him—he killed Master Mo Yu!” The burly alchemist’s eyes burned with madness.
“Indeed, it was me.”
Chan Wuqi nodded. “He dared speak without permission—he sought death.”
Chan Wuqi believed it was perfectly justified.
Killing a few Void True Gods and True Gods was no more than a breath—what was the big deal?
“So that’s the reason,” Luo Feng understood.
Luo Feng also raised a finger, gently.
Hum!
An invisible blade of light descended, instantly annihilating Chan Wuqi’s divine body. As he died, Chan Wuqi’s eyes widened in disbelief: “Luo He Shenjun dares publicly kill a Heart Shadow Sect Eternal True God? Is he declaring total war against us?”
The scene stunned the other Heart Shadow Sect disciples; they fled in terror, abandoning the workshop.
Before coming to Hu Yang City, they had known Luo He Shenjun’s reputation—he was no ordinary disciple they could oppose.
“Huh.”
Luo Feng waved his hand and sealed away every living being in the workshop—including the guests.
At this critical moment, he had no time to ask their consent. If they wished to return, he would personally bring them back after the war.
…
In this commercial district, three colossal mechanical treasures hovered in the sky, nineteen large airships floated above, and Heart Shadow Sect disciples scoured every commercial faction. With Luo Feng’s arrival, every Heart Shadow Sect disciple grew tense.
“Luo He Shenjun has come!”
“Chan Wuqi, our uncle, is dead!”
The disciples were panicked.
The three colossal mechanical treasures above also moved closer to the Mo Yu Alchemy Workshop—they too were shocked that Luo He Shenjun had acted so boldly!
After all, the Heart Shadow Sect had always shown Luo He Shenjun respect; they never offended him or his two servants.
But…
The relatives and friends of his servants?
The friends Luo He Shenjun had made?
Luo Feng had lived in Hu Yang City for over thirty eons, meeting countless friends—mostly Eternal True Gods. Some were close, others merely acquaintances. The Heart Shadow Sect couldn’t possibly spare them all. As for servants’ relatives and friends, the Heart Shadow Sect cared even less.
“Luo He Shenjun, you have killed one of our disciples…” One colossal mechanical treasure, covered in deep green scales, nearly humanoid with eight arms, spoke.
Whoosh!
A blinding, terrifying blade of light tore through the sky, splitting space into a pitch-black fissure, slicing straight through the colossal mechanical treasure. The structure shattered; most of its disciples inside died instantly. Of the eleven Eternal True Gods commanding the machine, all were slain.
The scene left the Heart Shadow Sect disciples frozen, their hearts icy.
“Run!” The surviving disciples from the shattered machine fled in terror—the fastest were the other two colossal mechanical treasures.
Luo Feng stepped out of the workshop, looked up, and spoke coldly: “I act—and you dare speak? Truly seeking death.”
His words echoed through the void, clear to every fleeing Heart Shadow Sect disciple.
Watching the colossal treasure crack and fall from the sky, Luo Feng waved his hand to seal it away, then stepped forward and vanished through space toward the next alchemy workshop.
