Chapter 86: Siege (Part 1)

~11 min read 2,011 words

After leaving Menghua Tower, Mo Luo Sa used only two void traversals to arrive above a modest cave dwelling in the Xuedong District of Huyang City, where the Qianye Tengcao clan lived.

“Shenjun, A Luo Ya has told us everything; we willingly follow you beyond the city.” The leader of the Qianye Tengcao clan bowed respectfully.

Though a few clan members were currently absent from the cave, it was clearly too late to retrieve them—saving the vast majority was already fortunate.

“Good.” Mo Luo Sa, with his simple appearance, nodded and swept his hand, instantly absorbing all living beings and structures within the cave. Only barren land and lakes remained.

As he collected the Qianye Tengcao clan, Mo Luo Sa mentally transmitted to Luo Feng: “Master, I’ve rescued the master of Menghua Tower, A Luo Ya, and nearly all the beings within Menghua Tower. A Luo Ya begged me to help, so I took the liberty of saving the Qianye Tengcao clan too.”

“Was everything smooth?” Luo Feng asked.

“Fairly smooth. The Xin Ying Men know I’m your servant and dared not act against me. Though they tried to stop me from rescuing the cultivators of Menghua Tower, I ignored them.” Mo Luo Sa transmitted back.

“Of the nine alchemy workshops established by Tian Yan Men disciples, help me rescue the cultivators from these three.” Luo Feng transmitted, sending Mo Luo Sa the precise locations of the three workshops, “I’ve already engaged Xin Ying Men—they may attack you if they see you again. Be careful.”

“Hah! Let them try.” Mo Luo Sa was thrilled.

“We must move quickly. I suspect Xin Ying Men have already begun mobilizing against me—we can’t afford delays.” Luo Feng transmitted.

“Don’t worry.” Mo Luo Sa was confident.

He had been in the Chaos Realm for five eons, long past its most vulnerable stage, his divine body grown to its absolute limit—and his understanding of the “Path of Destruction” deepened further each day.

Even if he suppressed his power to match the level of Xin Yan Elder, his techniques remained far more unpredictable. If he wished to flee, Xin Ying Men could not stop him.

Mo Luo Sa naturally held Xin Ying Men in contempt; what he feared were the ancient Divine Kings of the Origin Continent hunting him down, so he must follow his master’s orders precisely and play the role of “Guardian” flawlessly.

“Huh.” Although Mo Luo Sa could have reached the next alchemy workshop in a single step, he still performed three void traversals before arriving there.

……

The master of Xin Ying Men and the eighteen Elders gathered, some in true bodies, others as divine energy avatars.

They watched the scenes revealed by the sect’s grand array: one showed Luo Feng heading to an alchemy workshop, ruthlessly killing those who had slaughtered, and collecting all cultivators within; the other showed Mo Luo Sa doing the same—rescuing cultivators and eliminating the perpetrators on sight.

“The servant of Luo He Shenjun, named Luo Sa, has long disguised himself as a Void True God. But according to intelligence, Luo He Shenjun brought his servant Luo Sa to pursue Xue Yun Shenjun! We’ve long suspected Luo Sa was no ordinary being.”

“Even under the suppression of our sect’s array, Luo Sa traverses the void effortlessly! If he relies solely on mechanical artifacts, that’s fine—but if he uses his own power, his strength likely exceeds that of most Elders.”

“One Luo He, one Luo Sa. Luo Sa wields such power yet willingly serves as a servant—he may be a Guardian dispatched by a major force. Their abilities likely complement each other.”

These Elders possessed extraordinary insight.

They understood that two supreme True Gods, skilled in Chaos Realm techniques, would naturally specialize in different directions—but when combined, they could compensate for each other’s weaknesses, handling nearly any peril.

“If they unite, killing them becomes far harder.” Many Elders began to worry.

“The forces we’ve deployed are more than sufficient.” The Xin Ying Men master remained calm and confident.

Suddenly—

“Master, I’ve heard Luo He’s servant ‘Luo Sa’ is also formidable. Should I intervene?” A message reached the master.

“Qiu Yi, you are Xin Ying Men’s hidden force—your moment comes only when we wage war against the Nine Jiang Marquis’s army.” The master replied, “For this confrontation with Luo He and Luo Sa, we may use only publicly known forces.”

“I’ve deployed Xin Mo Yuan, the Six Shadow Killing Array, and the Great Annihilation Array—that’s half of Xin Ying Men’s strength. More than enough to handle them.” The master responded.

“Understood.” Qiu Yi said no more.

The Xin Ying Men master felt a pang of relief thinking of his disciple, Qiu Yi.

He had never expected that gathering scattered disciples across the Origin Continent would yield such a surprise. Qiu Yi, once merely a relatively outstanding True God, had now grown to rival Xin Yan Elder.

Most importantly, Qiu Yi had attained an advanced level in the Divine King inheritance, “Xin Ying Jue,” and could even command one of the sect’s five Guardian Mechanical Artifacts: the “Xin Ying Mo Jiang.”

Xin Ying Men possessed five Divine King-level transmissions; any True God disciple who passed the trials could learn portions of them.

Of these five, “Xin Ying Jue” was supreme—and the most difficult to master. The very name of Xin Ying Men derived from this scripture.

Once Qiu Yi commanded the Guardian Artifact “Xin Ying Mo Jiang,” he would prove even more troublesome than Xin Yan Elder’s Xin Mo Yuan.

“Yet Qiu Yi is arrogant—he refuses to interact with other Elders. With his strength, he could easily hold the rank of Elder. Too bad, once this war ends, he will leave.” The master sighed, “Not just him—even Xin Yan Elder will depart after this war.”

They returned either out of gratitude for the sect’s teachings or due to orders from the Chaos Realm.

Even over half of Xin Ying Men’s disciples had settled permanently across the Origin Continent and ignored the sect’s summons.

“Luo He is truly ruthless.”

“He kills every Xin Ying Men disciple he finds without hesitation.”

The master and the eighteen Elders watched, growing anxious.

“Xin Yan Elder, are you not here yet?” They turned to Xin Yan Elder’s divine energy avatar.

“Even with Xin Mo Yuan, I can only match him—I cannot stop him. If I appear, he will flee immediately.” Xin Yan Elder said, “I wait for the Six Shadow Killing Array to converge. Then, together we will trap him—after the Great Annihilation Array activates, we can annihilate him completely.”

The Great Annihilation Array required three hundred and sixty True Gods to activate—one of Xin Ying Men’s true killing techniques.

……

“Luo He Shenjun and his servant Luo Sa have both acted, rescuing the alchemy workshops established by Tian Yan Men disciples.”

“Both are acting with brutal efficiency.”

“Luo Sa’s strength appears equal to that of Xue Yun.” On the side of the City Lord’s mansion, the five family leaders watched the surveillance scenes in surprise.

Luo Feng’s strength was expected—but Luo Sa’s power startled them.

“Earlier, the Princess, representing the Sovereign, tried to recruit Luo He—he refused. Clearly, he has great origins.” The Huyang City Lord said, “His servant Luo Sa is low-key, yet his strength rivals Luo He’s.”

“Hah! The stronger they are, the better.”

“With Luo He Shenjun and his servant aiding us, our chances of victory increase greatly.” The five family leaders felt their hope of victory rise.

After all, a True God of this caliber could match an elite army—let alone two appearing at once.

……

At Yan Feng Hall, the hall master Di Chu Yu also watched the progress of the city’s war.

“Luo He truly has some background.” Di Chu Yu smiled as he watched.

“No matter his origins, they cannot compare to my Di Chu lineage,” said the deputy hall master.

!.

The imperial family of Yan Feng Ancient Kingdom was the mightiest force on the Origin Continent—only the imperial family of Lei Ting Ancient Kingdom could rival them!

Of course, if the legendary “Yuan” were willing to take a disciple, his appeal would be greater—but Yuan had no patience for teaching disciples; merely receiving his legacy was already extraordinary.

“From his actions, his realm accumulation is profound, yet chaotic,” Di Chu Yu observed, “His Chaos Realm techniques carry the essence of both Life and Destruction Paths—and they are blended together.”

Di Chu Yu shook his head slightly, “This suggests his lineage is ordinary—likely just an average Divine King.”

“Hmm.”

The deputy hall master nodded, “The Supreme Rules contain the Origin Paths; each Path is a clear guide. Blending two Paths… means no guide at all—only self-exploration, making progress immensely difficult.”

These imperial family members knew well: cultivation must not be greedy. Focusing on a single Path, with complete transmission and clear Origin Path guidance, naturally leads to smoother advancement.

Blending different Paths?

Without transmission or clear guidance, the difficulty multiplies a hundredfold!

“It doesn’t matter. What he’s currently comprehending doesn’t even touch the surface of a Path. Once he returns to the Ancient Kingdom and receives part of our Di Chu lineage’s transmission, he’ll know how to cultivate properly,” Di Chu Yu said.

At every alchemy workshop, Luo Feng collected all alchemists, apprentices, and guests; wherever he found a Xin Ying Men True God responsible for slaughter, he killed them on the spot.

“Strange—why is Xin Ying Men moving so slowly?” Luo Feng had prepared for their strongest moves, yet had encountered none.

Luo Feng had already collected the fifth alchemy workshop.

“Luo He Shenjun!” The alchemists and apprentices at the workshop were thrilled. Nearby Xin Ying Men disciples, upon seeing Luo Feng, fled without hesitation.

“Hm?”

Luo Feng’s Sheng Mie Domain sensed something—he immediately swept his hand to collect the workshop’s cultivators, then looked upward.

In the distance, a massive black bird-like mechanical artifact appeared, alongside six colossal mechanical artifacts forming a formation.

“Xin Mo Yuan!” Luo Feng recognized it instantly—one of Xin Ying Men’s famed Guardian Artifacts.

Each Guardian Artifact of Xin Ying Men was powerful, imbued with many mysteries—but over the long centuries, some had been lost, and the remaining ones… most could no longer be activated.

The threshold to activate a Guardian Artifact was extremely high.

“Mo Luo Sa, there’s one more alchemy workshop—take care of it.” Luo Feng transmitted another location to Mo Luo Sa.

Of the nine workshops, he had collected five; the remaining four had to be handled by Mo Luo Sa.

“Rest assured, Master, leave it to me.” Mo Luo Sa remained relaxed—he had encountered no serious resistance.

“Luo He!” The massive black bird’s eyes glowed crimson, “We Xin Ying Men have shown you respect, yet you act so recklessly—you seek your own death.”

“Enough talk,” Luo Feng replied, uninterested—he knew the longer he delayed, the stronger Xin Ying Men’s forces would become.

BOOM!

Luo Feng shot skyward instantly.

WHIRRRRR—The dark array high above unleashed its full might: a vast, dark vortex surged forth, binding and crushing down, while Xin Mo Yuan and the Six Shadow Killing Array moved simultaneously.

“Hmph.” Luo Feng burned his divine energy, unleashing his Sheng Mie Domain.

A vast, Taiji-like cloud of Sheng Mie expanded in all directions, shattering the dark vortex outright!

After all, this was a massive sect array—its power against individuals was only slightly stronger than the former Huyang City array, far inferior to Luo Feng’s Sheng Mie Domain.

The Taiji cloud surged across the heavens; Luo Feng stood at its center, blood-shadow blade in hand.

“Seal.”

Six enormous, blurred shadows appeared at six points, as if trapping the entire realm—and Luo Feng within it.

Meanwhile, Xin Mo Yuan let out a piercing screech and lunged at Luo Feng.

That screech struck directly at Luo Feng’s will!

“Die.” While launching the mental assault, Xin Mo Yuan clawed violently at Luo Feng—its claws tore through space, leaving jagged rifts.

THUD!!!

Under the mental assault,

it was like a fragile egg, driven by unyielding will, smashing headlong into a mountain!
