~6 min read 1,041 words

【Preliminary Trial for Dimensional Apostle No. 9999090919 Begins】

【Tai Chang Nation】

【Trial Summary: The Emperor indulges in wine, women, and wealth; the court is murky as muddy water; outlaws abound across the land】

【Trial Task: Reach the capital within one month】

【Trial Difficulty: C-rank (Adventure)】

【Trial Reward: 2000 Paradise Points, +2 Attribute Points】

【Trial Failure: -4000 Paradise Points, Forced Return】

【Hint: Subsequent trial tasks will be generated based on completion time】

【Hint: Do not leave the trial area at will, or unknown consequences such as increased difficulty may occur—assume full responsibility for such actions】

【Warning: Do not mention or reveal anything related to the Dimensional Paradise during the trial, or your trial eligibility will be revoked, all tasks deemed failed, and you will be forcibly repatriated】

——

【You spent 200 Paradise Points and mastered the language and script of this world】

【Open Identity Selection】

【Identity: None, Cost: None】

【Identity: Wandering Sorcerer (Inherited), Cost: 500 Paradise Points】

【Note: Inheriting your previous trial identity will extract part of your past experiences as background extension, potentially causing unknown consequences—assume full responsibility】

【Note: Identity continuity can accumulate inheritance, but only selectable in compatible trial worlds】

When Chu Danqing chose his identity, the second option was precisely the identity from his previous trial.

Though the world was different, selecting the same identity allowed partial experiences to be grafted over.

He glanced at the other identities, then ultimately chose the Wandering Sorcerer.

He could have started without an identity, but Da Bao and his summoned entities would be hard to explain.

A legitimate identity was not merely convenient—it allowed the Apostle’s derived skills and summoned entities to be disguised as native to the world.

Equipment rationalization was a permanent privilege; identity-based disguise was a one-time privilege.

Chu Danqing observed the other Apostles—fifteen in total.

A few clustered in small groups; the rest traveled alone.

In demeanor and aura, they far surpassed the rabble from his previous trial.

Chu Danqing also spotted a familiar face—the young, naive boy who had previously approached him with a cooperation offer from Xiong Quan; the boy had found a new target.

The boy sensed Chu Danqing’s gaze and offered him a shy smile.

Chu Danqing nodded in return, then ignored him.

Having earned two consecutive A-rank evaluations, his trial tasks had been assigned higher difficulty.

The Paradise’s trial tasks were not static—they followed an escalating mechanism.

If Chu Danqing consistently earned high ratings, he would be assigned trials of greater difficulty and better rewards, accelerating his growth.

What of consistent low ratings? Difficulty still increased, but not as sharply as with high ratings.

Trial failure did not kill, but higher difficulty trials inevitably brought greater danger.

【It’s certain these Apostles are likely like me—five-dimensional attributes nearing breakthrough.】

At minimum, they're as strong as Xiong Quan was before he received his inheritance skill in the last trial.

The last trial had newbies; this one had none.

If Chu Danqing performed steadily this time, gathering enough attribute points for a five-dimensional breakthrough would be easy.

If he didn’t deliberately stall his breakthrough, his next trial would inevitably be a promotion assessment, just like Xiong Quan’s.

【Pity—we’re not in the same world, or I could have leveraged him again.】 Chu Danqing glanced at the Blood Oath Covenant—Guo Ming’s name was now activated and callable.

This meant Tai Chang Nation and Yang Xian County were not the same world; otherwise, he could not have summoned Guo Ming.

After these thoughts, Chu Danqing began observing the outside world through the protective barrier.

They had descended into an abandoned village, surrounded by overgrown weeds and desolation.

Da Bao stood alertly behind Chu Danqing, watching all the other Apostles.

Fortunately, no one this time had the recklessness of Han Ying to casually cast probing spells.

Time passed in silence; when the barrier vanished, the fifteen Apostles moved off individually—Chu Danqing did not rush.

“Bad start—no initial kill.” Chu Danqing felt a pang of regret: “First, search the village—see if any stragglers remain.”

Chu Danqing spoke, slung his shrine on his back, and set off with Da Bao.

He was not alone in this thought—several other Apostles were doing the same.

Seeing this, Chu Danqing chose an unoccupied direction; all silently divided the area, avoiding interference.

“Lucky.” Chu Danqing found a torn Mountain Search Map, detailing hills and parts of nearby official roads.

But the map bore dried bloodstains—its owner had clearly met a grim end.

“One hundred Paradise Points—I’ll take a copy,” one Apostle, at a distance from Chu Danqing, called out, not approaching.

“It’s not a map—it’s a Mountain Search Map, for entering the hills,” Chu Danqing replied.

He wanted the hundred points too, but greed could backfire—better to be honest; the value wasn’t high anyway.

“It marks the location of the official road,” Chu Danqing said, folding the map to reveal only the directional markers and road positions.

All other markings of forests and terrain were concealed—better safe than sorry.

Several Apostles glanced, memorized the information, yet did not leave immediately—continued searching.

Aside from Chu Danqing, the rest found nothing, and one by one departed.

Some did return.

Da Bao’s keen senses detected them; as long as they made no move, Chu Danqing ignored them.

Only when Chu Danqing himself left without finding anything did they quietly slip away, soon vanishing.

“Outlaws—probably bandits,” Chu Danqing walked slowly, deliberate in his pace; the summary said outlaws were everywhere.

Let the other Apostles go first and test the waters.

Strike first or strike last—each had advantages and drawbacks.

Beyond that, he also wanted to see if there were any further developments after the start.

“Little Chu, over there—movement,” Da Bao said on the road, pointing toward the woods beside the official path.

They had entered the official road; following it forward would lead them to the town without issue.

“Go take a look—don’t alert anyone,” Chu Danqing said immediately.

He didn’t know what had happened, but avoiding the road and hiding beside it? Almost certainly trouble.

The official road was wider, easier to traverse, and safer.

Precisely because other possibilities existed, Chu Danqing held back—better to avoid harming innocents.

Da Bao crept forward on all fours, like a stalking tiger, slowly approaching the source of movement.
