Chapter 95: Change of Circumstances
“Who dares ruin my plans? You want to die!” The woman on the roof froze for a moment, then turned to see Da Bao dragging Zhao Ming away in a flash.
She cursed and sprinted after them, determined to snatch Zhao Ming back from Da Bao’s grip.
Chu Danqing could only stare in silence—now that they’d been spotted, she still tried to force her way in. Her nerve was truly immense.
The woman leapt from the roof like a giant kite, and as she landed, her three-point-water technique used the impact to close the distance to Da Bao.
Her stats were low, but the trial world’s skill intensities were unusually high.
Zhao Ming didn’t need explanation—he knew exactly what had happened.
Add to that the numbness and weakness he felt upon waking, and the full sequence became clear.
This woman had ill intent toward him; Chu Danqing and Da Bao had discovered her, so they rushed to rescue him.
Then, enraged and humiliated, she chased after them.
“Da Bao, drop Zhao Xiao-ge and grab her,” Chu Danqing immediately changed tactics.
Chu Danqing hadn’t expected the plot to unfold this way.
Normally, after being startled like that, nine out of ten would abandon their target and flee.
But now she was trying to snatch Zhao Ming away—this wasn’t some ordinary flower-plucker; they had to strike hard.
Upon receiving the order, Da Bao hurled Zhao Ming to the ground and turned to attack the woman.
The sudden move caught her off guard; she twisted her body and retreated several steps to dodge Da Bao’s claws.
Missing was fine—Da Bao pressed forward without hesitation.
Da Bao was a berserker type: Chu Danqing pointed, he picked his target, then relied entirely on instinct and reflex—no mercy, no hesitation, no “pretty girl” nonsense.
Chu Danqing rushed over, grabbed the limp Zhao Ming, and dragged him backward.
“Master Chu, I thought you said to put me down—why did Da Bao just throw me?” Zhao Ming’s head throbbed; he wasn’t sure if it was from hitting his head or the effects of the narcotic smoke.
“He’s not bright. If he understands orders, that’s enough. Don’t dwell on details,” Chu Danqing thought Zhao Ming was absurdly relaxed—of all times to care about this.
“Do you know that woman?” Chu Danqing asked.
Zhao Ming watched the woman being pushed back by Da Bao and shook his head: “No, I don’t know her. But her footwork is truly elegant—far superior to mine.”
“Still, her other martial skills are mediocre, nothing remarkable. In three more moves, Da Bao will capture her.”
Had she not used the narcotic smoke first, Zhao Ming could have handled her himself.
No sooner had he spoken than Da Bao slammed a claw into the woman’s lower back, pinning her to the ground.
Only because Chu Danqing ordered capture did Da Bao refrain from activating his Tearing Claws—if he had, it would’ve been disembowelment.
“You—you’re bullying me!” The woman, writhing in pain, screamed: “Father! Come save me!”
“I’m being attacked in my own family estate!!!”
She shouted loudly.
Chu Danqing’s confidence vanished—he couldn’t be facing… oh, right, this was a trial world, so he couldn’t face anyone.
“Good thing Da Bao deals mixed physical and magical damage—high magic resistance won’t save her,” Chu Danqing muttered.
“What?” Zhao Ming heard Chu Danqing but didn’t understand.
“How dare you commit violence in my Yuan family estate!” A roar echoed as a dark figure rushed over.
Seeing the woman pinned by Da Bao, his fury surged—he closed the distance in three strides.
He thrust both palms forward, striking straight at Da Bao’s chest.
Da Bao instantly rose and activated his Tearing Claws to meet the blow.
The clash sent Da Bao stumbling backward several steps.
“That palm power—dangerous!” Zhao Ming’s expression changed instantly.
Chu Danqing didn’t hesitate—he immediately cast the Spirit Eye Technique to scan.

Seeing the data, Chu Danqing’s face turned green—how had such a boss crawled out of this backwater?
All basic skills maxed, proficiency skills present, plus combat skills at level 49—only raw stat dominance could give him a chance.
Luckily, this trial world was unbalanced, with power concentrated in skills—if she’d had high stats too, this wouldn’t be a trial for a reserve cultivator.
Without hesitation, Chu Danqing summoned the Crossbowmen, Zhanji Tiger, Unicorn Dragon, and Heart Demon—all charging at once without restraint.
Simultaneously, he gathered a reinforced Chain Spell Ball, ready to strike when the opening came.
“It’s him—Iron Palm Flying Dragon Yuan Chong,” Zhao Ming recognized the old man with hawk-like nose and lion-like mouth: “This is a misunderstanding!”
“I am Zhao Ming, disciple of Qing Suo Ju Shi of Canluo Sect. Five years ago, you visited Canluo Mountain—I met you then.”
“Master Chu, hold your attack—Yuan Elder is no villain.”
Hearing this, Chu Danqing ordered Da Bao and all summoned creatures to retreat. The two sides faced off.
Xiong Zhigang also heard the commotion and arrived, just in time to witness the standoff.
“So it’s you, boy. Last time I saw you, you were barely this tall—now you’ve changed completely,” Yuan Chong said gravely, then shifted tone: “But that doesn’t excuse your bullying my daughter.”
“Canluo Sect may be large, but I, Yuan, am no pushover.”
“If you don’t give me an explanation today, even if your Canluo Sect’s leader stood here, you’d still die.”
Chu Danqing’s eye twitched—this situation was too abstract.
“Actually, it was your daughter who planned to assault Zhao Xiao-ge,” Chu Danqing explained.
Yuan Chong was surprisingly reasonable—he didn’t interrupt even as Chu Danqing’s account grew increasingly absurd.
But by the end, both Yuan Chong and Xiong Zhigang wore strange expressions.
“That’s how things unfolded—hence Zhao Xiao-ge is as limp as noodles,” Chu Danqing lifted Zhao Ming and shook him; his entire body was boneless.
He didn’t understand why Yuan Chong’s daughter chose this narcotic—it immobilized, but left the victim too weak to move.
“Shanhu, is this… true?” Yuan Chong asked his daughter awkwardly, especially since she hadn’t denied it.
