Chapter 375: Leakage

~11 min read 2,040 words

Yuan Ling Zhenren let out a sharp "Oh no," his figure instantly turning into a wisp of illusory spiritual light, appearing ready to fly toward the location of the Demon-Suppressing Tower in the next second—yet before he could depart, Yu Sheng casually pulled open a door right beside him, the opposite side of which revealed the scene of the Demon-Suppressing Tower's core containment zone.

"This way is faster," Yu Sheng said rapidly while holding the door open.

Yuan Ling Zhenren's figure instantly materialized from the light, staring with wide eyes at the door Yu Sheng had opened that led directly to the highest-level containment zone, his heart flooded with a hundred emotions in a single second...

But he also knew this was not the time to fuss over such "technical details"; the moment the door opened, he had sensed from the subtle details of the view within that something truly abnormal had occurred inside the Demon-Suppressing Tower, so he stepped forward, walking while speaking rapidly to Xuan Che and others beside him: "Xuan Che, hurry to Queyun Palace to organize the mountain-guarding disciples and inspect the array eyes of the Great Mountain-Protecting Array. Yuan He, help seal the perimeter of Xianshan; do not let any 'filthy things' escape outside the mountain. Eldest Senior Brother..."

He stood at the doorway looking at Yuan Hao Zhenren; before he could finish speaking, the latter had already nodded slightly: "Do not panic. Although this senior brother has been trapped in prison these past years, my fighting skills have not been neglected. If anything truly emerges that the juniors cannot handle, I will block it."

"Good. I see the central pulse flow within the Demon-Suppressing Tower is subtly unstable, yet I do not know why no alarm has sounded until now; the situation is truly eerie. Everyone must be careful!"

With that single sentence, Yuan Ling Zhenren's figure had already swiftly passed through the great door.

Yu Sheng then pulled open another door leading to the main hall of Queyun Palace, calling out to Xuan Che who was preparing to take flight: "Take this way; it's faster..."

Xuan Che had no time to say anything, bowed his hands, and ran into the door; Yuan He Zhenren, standing nearby, stared at this scene with wide eyes and instinctively blurted out: "... Is there a door to 'Zhenshan Pass'? It's beside Shifang Pavilion."

Yu Sheng thought for a moment, then waved his hand rapidly: "I don't know that place, I've never been there; run yourself."

Yuan He Zhenren blinked, and the next second his body transformed into rosy light, turning his head to fly toward the depths of the sea of clouds.

On the Cloud-Watching Platform, Erin stretched her neck, watching the rosy light of Yuan He Zhenren's departure, then couldn't help but look again at the direction Zheng Zhi had pointed to earlier, hesitantly opening her mouth: "Will something really go wrong? It looks like everything is still normal right no..."

Before the little puppet could finish speaking, a low, strange rumbling sound, as if some massive thing was slowly moving through the sea of clouds and crushing the mountain body, suddenly erupted from among the mountain ranges; accompanying this strange roar, a faint vibration also came from deep underground, interspersed with strange noises resembling a giant beast breathing and ten thousand kinds of clamor!

Erin "Teng" almost jumped right off Yu Sheng's shoulder: "Holy crap... it really did go wrong!"

And almost at the same moment the little puppet cried out, a semi-transparent rift suddenly appeared between the distant heaven and earth like a black lightning bolt; this time, not only could Zheng Zhi see it, but even Erin and Hu Li clearly saw the outline of that rift.

The rift flickered in the air like a hallucination with poor contact, giving the feeling that it was subtly splitting one of the high peaks of Qianfeng Xianshan in another dimension.

Zheng Zhi's eyes widened hugely, staring fixedly at the lightning-like branches extending from the edge of the rift: "Brother Yu! Something is crawling out of there... and something is also coming out of the mountain!"

Before his words had even faded, the sea of clouds boiled!

Without needing Zheng Zhi to remind him, Yu Sheng saw the strange phenomena occurring throughout Qianfeng Xianshan: the clouds and mist surrounding and filling Xianshan churned violently, surging and undulating like boiling water; countless vague shadows darted about within that "boiling" mist like predatory ghosts waiting for an opportunity, while smoke continuously rose from various places within the mountain, as if rifts were opening everywhere—and then, urgent warning bells rang out across the mountain ranges.

A terrifying pressure suddenly came from mid-air; Yu Sheng looked up toward the direction from which the pressure originated and saw a rift appearing out of thin air, from which a bone-armored, grotesque, and ferocious beast was frantically squeezing out. That beast seemed composed of piled-up bones and rotting flesh, every part of its body filled with chaotic and terrifying appearance; chains from the Demon-Suppressing Tower still connected between its bones, and countless celestial talismans on the chains were burning fiercely!

The next second, that chaotic ferocious beast let out a roar and could even speak human words: "Old thief Yuan Ling! Your grandpa has crawled out of that tower!"

Countless celestial talismans burned to ash in the blink of an eye; the solid Demon-Suppressing chains snapped inch by inch; the ferocious beast tore open the rift and lunged fiercely toward the Cloud-Watching Platform.

What greeted it, however, were countless black threads appearing out of thin air, expanding violently like a spiderweb.

Erin raised her hand, and countless spiderwebs wove and spread, layer upon layer surrounding the bone ferocious beast squeezing out of the rift; and almost at the same time, Yu Sheng saw Yuan Hao Zhenren act from the corner of his eye.

This legendary "Eldest Senior Uncle" took only one step forward and was already standing in mid-air; then, an object flew silently out from his sleeve. That object was square and square, neither metal nor wood, glowing red and dazzling to the eyes, cold and chilling to the bone; the moment it left his hand, it emitted the sound of wind and thunder in the air—it was, unmistakably, a brick.

The grotesque ferocious beast, confined by spiderwebs in mid-air, heard the wind suddenly rise beside its ears; looking up, it saw that the brick was already right before its eyes, and from the corner of its eye it saw Yuan Hao Zhenren standing in mid-air; the overwhelming pressure made its whole body tremble violently, and then it let out a reluctant and angry roar from its throat: "It's the damn old thief Yuan Hao..."

With a "Bang" of a huge crash, the "brick" struck the ferocious beast's face squarely; looking like an utterly ordinary strike, the latter's seemingly terrifying body turned into a sky-filling dust and smoke, then was instantly purified and dispersed by the "brick" emitting red light.

Yu Sheng, who was preparing to act, was dumbfounded watching this scene; he stared with wide eyes at the old handsome fellow with white eyebrows and white hair, standing in mid-air with hands behind his back, radiating the air of an immortal (and the brick floating beside the old handsome fellow); finally, he couldn't hold back and blurted out: "... Your weapon is a brick?!"

Hearing this, Yuan Hao Zhenren, standing in mid-air, almost fell straight down; the old handsome fellow looked frantic: "This is the Ten Directions Heaven-Suppressing Ruler! Heaven-Suppressing Ruler! I just made it a bit short when I forged it!"

Yu Sheng listened blankly; he had no idea what kind of magical treasure the "Ten Directions Heaven-Suppressing Ruler" was, but he could tell from Yuan Hao Zhenren's tone that probably more than one person had said his magical treasure looked like a brick...

However, the current situation was clearly not the time to continue discussing "whether it is reasonable for a weapon used by a beautiful, powerful, tragic, and handsome immortal prince to be a brick."

Because at the same moment that ferocious beast was executed, countless rifts of various sizes had already appeared out of thin air from the sea of clouds surrounding Qianfeng Xianshan!

"This damn situation is huge, holy crap!"

Erin, seeing those rifts, let out a cry of alarm and had no choice but to weave her spiderwebs again, trying to place the entire Cloud-Watching Platform within the protection range of the spiderweb; Hu Li, without saying a word, lay flat on the spot, transforming into a giant nine-tailed silver fox, then controlling the eight-door fox-swimming cannon that had synchronized its growth, unleashing a round of firepower coverage toward the few rifts closest to him; subsequently, fox-fire rose, and four or five more rounds of fox-carrot missiles whistled out, bombarding wildly in the sea of clouds!

A rift formed above the Cloud-Watching Platform; accompanied by a grating, teeth-aching "Ka-la-la" strange sound, a mass of pitch-black dust and smoke surged out from that rift; with the chains behind the dust and smoke severed by the power of the rift and the celestial talismans on the chains turning to ash in the blink of an eye, a demon creature with a vaguely human silhouette crawled out from within that dust and smoke; and immediately after, countless similar rifts appeared above the Cloud-Watching Platform, from which uncountable strange and weird things surged out.

Inside there was truly everything imaginable—not only fierce strange beasts and evil path demons subdued and suppressed by Qianfeng Xianshan, but also evil path cultivators who had fallen into the demonic path and viciously evil celestial criminals, plus bizarre objects and out-of-control entities contained in the Demon-Suppressing Tower over the years; some barely had a human shape, some barely had a beast shape, and some were completely unrecognizable in form; for a moment, amidst the cloud and mist sea, only various whistling roars were heard, boundless chaos!

A flash of gold passed through the corner of Yu Sheng's eye; he turned his head and saw Princess Rapunzel holding a golden giant scythe, cutting the demon creature with a human silhouette in half at the waist; and as the demon creature struggled and turned into black dust and smoke, the girl lightly and swiftly jumped back half a step; the golden giant scythe in her hand transformed into a long spear, which she thrust backward to pierce through a fleshball with countless eyes and limbs that seemed to be attempting a sneak attack from the side; immediately after, gold flowed like a waterfall, and streams of light almost shattered the countless "offspring" that proliferated after the fleshball disintegrated.

Yu Sheng's naked eyes could barely keep up with Princess Rapunzel's movements; the skilled combat techniques and obvious enemy-fighting intuition honed through countless life-and-death struggles that the girl, who usually looked completely unreliable, displayed in the blink of an eye left him dumbstruck.

In the blink of an eye, Princess Rapunzel had already cleared a space around herself; then she noticed the gaze falling upon her, shook off a little dirt clinging to her hair, looked up at Yu Sheng, and flashed an unscrupulous smile: "Brother, am I awesome or what!"

"... Awesome," Yu Sheng swung his mace to smash away a winged demon creature he didn't know what it was, which was darting around everywhere in the air making a lot of noise, while looking at Princess Rapunzel with genuine admiration, "I knew you could fight before, but I didn't expect you to be this good at fighting."

"It feels like all the ones coming out from here are easy to deal with; at least they are 'tangible' enemies that can be touched and destroyed," Princess Rapunzel's magical golden hair behind her gradually spread out, slowly extending toward the entire Cloud-Watching Platform like a dazzling and undulating pool of water; countless swords, war scythes, knives, spears, halberds, and spikes grew wildly from it, and as if possessing their own will, they began to strangle all hostile units entering the hair-covered range, "For me, anything with a health bar can be killed, and these things are much easier to deal with than the demons inside the tower."
