Chapter 181: Old Huo's Phone
The Provincial Military Command Center has now become the Dragon Group's temporary office.
A Jiang City Full Map hangs on the wall, densely marked with red symbols, indicating areas already surveyed.
"Group Leader Lu, we have already conducted a net‑type sweep, yet we still haven't found any trace of those three Masked Persons."
Duan Fei reported in a hurried tone.
"These three have vanished as if into thin air; there is not a single clue."
Shao Jinpeng also nodded.
"We also retrieved the city's surveillance and found that after they withdrew from Fengling Ferry, we have not captured any of their silhouettes since."
Lu Xiao sat on a chair nearby, lightly tapping the table with her fingers, her expression solemn.
"These three are Fifth Grade Grandmasters; to escape alive from under the Dragon Town Guard's command, they are far from ordinary. When you conduct the sweep, be extremely careful; never be careless."
"If you spot their trail, do not rashly clash with them; the Fifth Grade Grandmaster's strength is beyond what you can handle. Immediately send a signal; I will bring reinforcements. Remember, safety first; do not force a fight."
"Understood!"
Duan Fei and Shao Jinpeng replied in unison, their minds also aware of the Fifth Grade Grandmaster's terror, daring not the slightest negligence.
At that moment, a deafening crash rang out as someone kicked the solid‑wood door of the command center from outside, splintering wood chips.
Three black silhouettes slipped in like phantoms, lining up at the doorway—it was those three Masked Persons!
Their auras roared violently, a dense wave of murderous intent spreading outward.
The three were stunned.
They did not expect that these three city‑wide wanted individuals would dare storm straight into the Dragon Group's temporary headquarters!
Lu Xiao sprang to her feet, drawing the side‑blade at her waist.
"You have such nerve, daring to trespass the Dragon Group Garrison!"
The leading Masked Person let out a cold laugh.
"We even dare to touch Long Qianyan; are we still afraid of you useless ones? Heard you were looking for us? Here we are, aren't we?"
"The fourth died at Long Qianyan's hands; we cannot kill him, so we will take your Dragon Group members as offerings!"
The second let out a roar, his aura becoming even more ferocious.
"Today, none of the people here will survive!"
The three simultaneously charged toward the hall's center, the Fifth Grade Grandmaster's oppressive pressure sweeping in like a tide.
"Stop them!"
Lu Xiao shouted without hesitation, her figure flashing as she swung her blade first toward the leading Masked Person.
"Shao Jinpeng! Duan Fei! You must immediately inform the Dragon Town Guard, have him rush over!"
Lu Xiao, while grappling the Masked Person Leader, shouted.
"I'll hold them here!"
The Masked Person Leader let out a cold laugh, raising his blade to block Lu Xiao's sword.
Their weapons clashed; Lu Xiao was jolted back three steps, her qi and blood surging. The opponent's strength far exceeded hers; a single move made her feel immense pressure.
"Want to notify anyone? Too late!" The Masked Person Leader's eyes turned fierce as he surged forward again, his long blade whirling like a tiger, each strike aiming at vital points, "Today none of you will escape!"
The second and third also charged respectively toward Duan Fei and Shao Jinpeng.
Their goal was clear: to silence everyone here.
The hall instantly fell into chaos.
Lu Xiao fought with all her strength to entangle the Masked Person Leader; though constantly on the defensive, she firmly blocked his path.
Nevertheless, the gap in strength was huge; Lu Xiao quickly acquired several wounds, blood staining her black combat gear, and her movements gradually slowed.
"Group Leader, hold on! We're coming to help you!"
Seeing this, Duan Fei and Shao Jinpeng rushed forward, attempting to surround the Masked Person Leader.
"You bunch of ants, such nerve!"
The Masked Person Leader let out a cold laugh, his aura sweeping; the two were instantly blasted away, crashing heavily to the ground, spitting blood.
"Don't come!"
Lu Xiao shouted.
"You go quickly inform the Dragon Town Guard, now!"
The two gritted their teeth, again feigned two moves, and rushed out the door.
The Masked Person Leader tried to pursue, but Lu Xiao held him tightly.
"Your opponent is me!"
"Seeking death!"
The Masked Person Leader roared, swinging his long blade fiercely, a powerful blade aura slashing toward Lu Xiao.
Lu Xiao's complexion changed drastically; she quickly raised her blade to block.
A deafening crash rang; she was shaken back repeatedly by the blade aura, blood spilling from her mouth corner, her breath becoming even more erratic.
……
Meanwhile, at Jishi Hall.
Jiang Feng had been busy all morning, sending off the last Patient, when he turned and saw Ling Zhaixing emerging from the kitchen.
A table was already laden with a full spread of dishes, the aroma intoxicating, making mouths water.
Jiang Feng, somewhat surprised, raised an eyebrow and asked.
"Did you make all these?"
Ling Zhaixing nodded, a faint smile on his face.
"I am new here; thanks to Doctor Jiang, Grandfather Hua, and Yingying's care, I have little to repay, so I prepared a meal to thank everyone."
Old Master Hua Jing walked over laughing, looked at a table of dishes, and kept praising.
"Miss A Ling, you're too polite! You could stay to help; we're grateful, but it's still too late—how could we still have you cook?"
"Yes, yes!"
Hua Yingying put down the soup bowl, eagerly picked up chopsticks, grabbed a piece of braised pork and put it into her mouth, and her eyes lit up instantly.
"Wow! Sister A Ling, your cooking is just too delicious!"
Old Master Hua Jing pretended to be angry and glared at her.
"You little girl, you only know how to eat!"
Jiang Feng also laughed.
"Since A Ling has already finished, we won't be polite; let's all taste together."
The four of them sat around the dining Table, picked up chopsticks, and began eating.
Hua Yingying ate while continuously praising Ling Zhaixing's cooking, and the atmosphere was very lively.
At that moment, the door of Jishi Hall was gently pushed open, and a crisp female voice sounded.
"Doctor Jiang Feng, are you there?"
Jiang Feng looked up and saw at the doorway a girl in a white dress, who was his named Disciple Huo Siyong.
"Si Yong?" Jiang Feng was a bit surprised, then smiled, "Why did you come?"
Huo Siyong hurried in, and upon seeing Jiang Feng, her smile grew even brighter.
"Master! I have graduated! I told you before that after graduating I would follow you to study medicine; now I can officially stay at Jishi Hall!"
"Si Yong, since you're here, let's eat together."
Jiang Feng said, picking up a set of bowl and chopsticks and handing them to her.
"Alright!"
Huo Siyong sat down without hesitation.
Just as everyone was eating happily, the phone in Huo Siyong's pocket suddenly rang.
She took out the phone, saw it was her grandfather calling, and quickly answered.
"Grandpa, what's wrong?"
"Si Yong, you quickly have Divine Doctor Jiang come to the Military Hospital; there's an emergency!"
Huo Siyong's smile vanished instantly.
"Grandpa, what happened? Why the hurry?"
"The details can't be explained over the phone; in short, it's a matter of Human Life!"
Huo Lao's Tone carried a hint of urgency.
"Alright, I understand; I'll have Master go over right away!"
Huo Siyong hung up, looked up at Jiang Feng.
"Master, my grandfather told you to go to the Military Hospital immediately; there's an emergency, Human Life!"
