Chapter 31: A Slap
Yun Mengrou's eyelids twitched, and she slowly opened her eyes.
Her awareness hadn't fully recovered, and she only saw a vague black shadow swaying before her.
On top of that, a gentle sensation came from her chest, a shock‑like feeling that jolted Yun Mengrou awake.
"You... what are you doing!"
Yun Mengrou snapped back to her senses, and without caring who the other was, she raised her hand and slapped Jiang Feng's face!
Pa— a crisp crack, and Jiang Feng was stunned by the slap, his hand pressed on her chest Acupoint went rigid.
How could that girl's slap be so strong!
"Rascal! You actually took advantage of me when I was weak!"
Yun Mengrou was both angry and frantic, like a little wolf, glaring fiercely at Jiang Feng.
Jiang Feng covered his face, his mouth corner twitching slightly.
Saved someone and got slapped? So good deeds get no reward, huh!
"Mengrou! Don't get it wrong!"
Anna rushed over and grabbed Yun Mengrou in one hand.
"He's not being a rascal! He's saving you!"
"Saving me?"
Yun Mengrou froze for a moment, her brows knotting, her Brain instantly in disarray.
"You just had an asthma attack, almost out of breath! The ambulance would take fifteen minutes, but this gentleman intervened and pulled you back from the Gate of Ghosts!"
Anna hurried to explain, repeatedly nodding and bowing to Jiang Feng.
"Really sorry, handsome, our Mengrou's Brain short‑circuited... it wasn't intentional to hit you."
Yun Mengrou blinked, and her Brain slowly replayed the earlier scene.
From singing to fans presenting flowers, then she lost consciousness... thinking that way, it seemed she really had misunderstood.
She looked at the faint red mark on Jiang Feng's face, and her cheek flushed red up to her ears.
"S‑sorry! I... I just woke up, my Brain was fuzzy, I acted without understanding, are you okay?"
Jiang Feng was now helplessly amused.
"I called you a big star; next time when you wake up, could you ask about the situation before acting? I saved someone and got slapped, I'm more wronged than Dou E."
"Really especially sorry!"
Yun Mengrou quickly propped herself up to stand and apologize, but having just woken, she had no strength; her body swayed and almost fell again, and Anna hurriedly steadied her.
"I truly didn't mean it, I just... was too scared, so my reaction was a bit exaggerated."
"Alright, alright, I know you didn't do it on purpose."
Jiang Feng waved his hand, not really holding a grudge.
After all, she's a little girl who just crawled back from the Gate of Ghosts.
"How do you feel now?"
Yun Mengrou inhaled, shook her head: "Much better, not so breathless, just still a bit weak."
At that point, she looked at Jiang Feng earnestly.
"I really thank you so much today! Without you, I might have died."
"No need to thank me, it was just a handy thing."
Jiang Feng turned and was about to leave.
It was a chance encounter, he didn't mind.
"Wait! Don't go!"
Yun Mengrou hurriedly called after him, fumbling to pull a phone from her bag.
"You still haven't told me your name or contact info! I have to thank you properly! How much is the medical fee? I'll have my assistant transfer it to you right now!"
Jiang Feng's steps halted, he turned back and gave her a glance, a mischievous grin curling his mouth corner.
"Money, that stuff, I really don't lack. I saved you because I can't stand seeing a living Human Life vanish before me."
"Then... how should I thank you?"
Yun Mengrou became anxious; in all her life she hadn't met anyone who saved someone without expecting anything in return.
"How about I treat you to a big meal? Or... or I sign a hundred autograph photos for you? My fans are all clamoring for them!"
"Forget the big meal, I have other matters."
Jiang Feng waved his hand.
"No need for autograph photos, I'm not your little fan."
"By the way, your pollen allergy is quite severe; avoid smelling Rosaceae flowers in the future. That's it, I have things to do, I'm leaving now."
After saying that, he ignored whatever Yun Mengrou and Anna still wanted to say, turned and walked off the stage.
Yun Mengrou watched Jiang Feng disappear, her mind full of curiosity.
This man is really something special, huh?
He knows medicine, doesn't seek money, speaks with a hint of roguishness, completely unlike the people who usually flatter her.
"Anna sis, who exactly is he?"
Yun Mengrou turned her head and asked.
"I don't know, but we really should thank him..."
Anna, seeing Yun Mengrou still conflicted, couldn't help joking: "What? Interested in him?"
Yun Mengrou's face flushed red, and she quickly turned away.
"Not at all! I just... think he's a good person and want to thank him properly."
Just as he was speaking, the ambulance siren grew nearer.
After the medical staff performed a simple examination on Yun Mengrou, they carried her onto the vehicle; Anna quickly followed, got on, and hurried to the hospital.
On the other side, Jiang Feng left the music festival venue, found an old‑brand beef noodle stall, ordered a large bowl of beef noodles, and ate it clean.
After eating his fill and drinking his fill, he burped, and Slowly walked toward Su Family.
When he returned to Su Family, the sky was already pitch black, but the living room still had lights on.
Jiang Feng pushed open the door and saw Old Master sitting on the sofa, Slowly sipping tea, with a thick document still on the coffee table beside it.
"Old Master, why aren't you asleep yet?"
Jiang Feng walked over, sat on the sofa, picked up the apple on the coffee table and started crunching, crunch crunch.
Old Master Laughter: "I've been waiting for you. How was your outing today? Did you have fun?"
"It was okay, Here is not quite the same as on the Mountain."
Jiang Feng mentioned it casually and didn't go into detail about the incident of rescuing someone and getting slapped.
Old Master nodded and pushed the document on the coffee table in front of Jiang Feng.
"Jiang Feng, I happen to have something to discuss with you. Earlier you said you went down the Mountain for worldly experience; I think since it's experience, you should find something to do, so I took the liberty of finding a storefront for you, wanting to open a Medical Hall for you. What do you think?"
Jiang Feng was startled for a moment, picked up the document and flipped through it.
"Old Master, you are being overly considerate!"
Jiang Feng was a bit surprised; he hadn't expected Old Master to think about these things for him.
"But opening a Medical Hall is fine; after all I don't have much to do normally, and helping people with illnesses is quite interesting."
He had indeed thought that in this bustling mortal world he must find something to do, otherwise it would be hard to experience ordinary people's lives.
Opening a Medical Hall is indeed good; it can help others and also elevate one's own state of mind.
"If you agree, that's fine."
Old Master laughed happily: "I've already rented the storefront for you. When the Medical Hall opens, I'll promote it for you, guaranteeing you won't lack customers."
"Alright, then I'll thank Old Master first."
Jiang Feng didn't hold back and cheerfully agreed.
The two continued discussing the Medical Hall, and at that moment, the sound of a key unlocking the door came from the entrance.
Jiang Feng looked up and saw Su Xueyan returning.
But at this moment her complexion wasn't good, and there were faint dark circles under her eyes.
Her delicate makeup was a bit smudged, she looked especially tired, and even the smile at the corner of her mouth lacked strength.
"Xue Yan, you're back?"
Jiang Feng quickly stood up, went over and took the bag from her shoulder.
Su Xueyan Laughter, her voice a bit hoarse: "Hmm, I'm back. Grandfather, Jiang Feng, why aren't you asleep yet?"
"I've been waiting for you."
Old Master looked at her exhausted appearance, furrowed his brows: "Did something happen at the company? You look this tired."
