Chapter 300
"Holy crap! Is it an earthquake?!" The Interstellar Knight yelled, the gems in his hands spilling all over the floor; he didn't care about the pain, just covered his head and fled.
Falling rocks from the ceiling crashed down like hail, and dust filled the labyrinth, making it impossible to see one's own fingers.
"Step one to getting rich, bury yourself alive first, right!" He complained while dodging.
The labyrinth shook violently, as if a giant beast was struggling frantically before death.
Stones fell like raindrops, crashing onto the ground with deafening sounds.
Everyone hid here and there, in a sorry state.
Zhang Cheng tried hard to remain calm, attempting to find an exit in the chaos, but smoke and dust filled the surroundings, blocking his vision, so he could only grope forward by feeling.
"It's no good, Boss, this place is going to collapse! We have to get out quickly!" The Interstellar Knight wiped the dust off his face and shouted at Zhang Cheng.
He was impatient; when encountering danger, he only wanted to escape, not caring about strategy.
"Shut up! You reckless man!" The Nebula Sage crawled out from under a falling rock in a sorry state, glaring at the Interstellar Knight.
"Running around now is just throwing your life away! Find a safe place to hide first!"
"Hide? Hide where? This ghost place is collapsing everywhere!" The Interstellar Knight pointed at the continuously falling stones, looking anxious.
"If we don't run, we'll all become meat patties!"
"You..." The Nebula Sage wanted to retort, but was interrupted by Zhang Cheng.
"Stop arguing!" Zhang Cheng shouted sternly, his tone carrying unquestionable majesty.
"Knight, the Sage is right; running around now will only be more dangerous. Let's find a relatively safe place first..."
Before he could finish his sentence, the ground suddenly gave way beneath his feet, and he fell downward.
"Boss!" The Light Messenger exclaimed.
"Zhang Cheng!" The Nebula Sage and the Interstellar Knight also exclaimed at the same time.
In the darkness, Zhang Cheng felt himself falling, falling...
"It's over, it's a BBQ..." he thought to himself.
Suddenly, the falling stopped. He crashed heavily onto the ground, feeling as if his internal organs had shifted.
Before he could recover, he heard a hair-raising cracking sound from above... The "cracking" sound above grew louder and closer; Zhang Cheng looked up and nearly lost his soul.
A giant rock the size of a millstone was teetering, about to crash down.
At the critical moment, he rolled to the side, barely dodging this fatal blow.
The giant rock landed, creating a huge crater, dust flying.
"Damn! This is too exciting!" Zhang Cheng patted the dust off his body, still shaken, and before he could catch his breath, he heard the Light Messenger's scream.
A giant rock was rolling toward the Light Messenger; saying it was too late, the Interstellar Knight rushed up, threw himself at her, and shielded her underneath him.
The giant rock brushed past, bringing a gust of wind that made their clothes flap loudly.
"Knight!" The Light Messenger was still shaken, gripping the Interstellar Knight's arm tightly.
"It's fine, small matter!" The Interstellar Knight grinned, patting his chest, "Protecting a beauty, I am duty-bound!"
However, before they could finish their sentimental moment, something even more terrifying happened.
From the collapsed rocks, a giant figure slowly stood up.
It was composed of countless broken stones, shaped like a person, but much larger, radiating a suffocating sense of oppression.
"Holy crap! What the hell is this?!" The Interstellar Knight's eyes widened, and he couldn't help but curse.
"Giant Stone Puppet!" The Nebula Sage's expression was grave. "It seems the labyrinth's guardian mechanism has been activated!"
The Giant Stone Puppet let out a deafening roar and charged toward the group.
The Interstellar Knight took the lead, swinging his weapon and hacking fiercely at the puppet, but could only make it pause slightly.
The puppet backhanded a swing, and its massive stone arm sent the Knight flying, crashing heavily to the ground.
"Knight!" The Light Messenger exclaimed, about to rush up.
"Don't go over there! Its defense is too strong!" Zhang Cheng grabbed her, "We have to think of another way!"
Zhang Cheng used his wisdom to direct everyone to distract the puppet.
The Light Messenger cast spells to attack the puppet's eyes, but found that the puppet had no eyes at all, or rather, its whole body was eyes, and the spells were completely ineffective.
Just when everyone was at a loss, the Nebula Sage suddenly shouted: "Its joints! Attack its joints!"
Hearing this, the Interstellar Knight endured the pain in his body and charged at the Giant Stone Puppet again, focusing his attacks on its joints... With a crisp "click," something broke.
With a crisp "click," as if the bones of a giant beast had snapped, the Giant Stone Puppet's movements suddenly stalled.
The Interstellar Knight seized the opportunity, a roundhouse kick hitting the puppet's knee joint; another "click," and the Giant Stone Puppet's massive body collapsed with a crash, kicking up a cloud of dust.
"Awesome!" The Interstellar Knight shook his hair coolly, not forgetting to wink at the Light Messenger, "How about that, is my operation a 6 or what?"
The Light Messenger looked at his dust-covered but still bright smiling face, her eyes full of heartache; she took out a handkerchief to gently wipe the sweat from his forehead, saying softly: "What time is it, and you're still acting cool! Does it hurt?"
The Knight looked at her gentle gaze, a warm current rising in his heart, grinning: "It's fine, small matter! Just a flesh wound, a piece of cake!"
Suddenly, an old voice rang in everyone's ears: "The labyrinth is about to collapse, leave quickly!"
Everyone followed the sound and saw a hunched old man with white hair and beard appear out of thin air.
He wore a tattered robe, leaned on a wooden staff, and radiated a mysterious aura.
"Who are you?" Zhang Cheng asked vigilantly.
"I am the Earthquake Elf, the elf guarding this labyrinth." The old man said slowly, "The balance of the labyrinth has been broken and is about to collapse completely; you must leave quickly, otherwise you will be buried here forever!"
"Where is the escape route?" The Nebula Sage asked hurriedly.
The Earthquake Elf pointed to a corner deep in the labyrinth: "There is a hidden passage there that leads to the outside world. But..."
Before he could finish, a giant rock fell from the sky, completely blocking the entrance to the passage!
"Damn! This is too pit-fatherly!" The Interstellar Knight couldn't help but curse.
"No time to lose, let's push this rock away together!" Zhang Cheng made a prompt decision, calling everyone to exert force together.
Everyone worked together, using all their strength, and finally slowly pushed the giant rock away, revealing a narrow passage.
"Quick, go!" Zhang Cheng shouted, rushing into the passage first.
Everyone followed closely, running toward the depths of the passage.
However, just then, a deafening earth-shaking sound came from behind; the Giant Stone Puppet had actually stood up again, taking heavy steps and chasing after them!
"Run! It's chasing us!" The Light Messenger exclaimed.
The passage was pitch black, and everyone could only run forward desperately, relying on a faint light.
The footsteps behind grew closer, and the roar of the Giant Stone Puppet became clearer...
"This passage... how does it seem..." The Nebula Sage said, panting, his face suddenly turning pale.
"What?" Zhang Cheng looked back, his heart sinking.
"It's... it's... a dead end..."
