Chapter 333: Star Path Sets Anchor, Unfolds Grand Ambition
The light of the star chart shone on every face, and the excitement gradually gave way to solemnity.
The Xingling xue zhe pointed at the flickering bright spot, his tone carrying a barely perceptible worry: "This star system… is at least three star domains away from us; the journey is long, and it is full of unknown dangers."
"Three star domains…" Xingji Xiake inhaled sharply, he brushed his energy weapon at his waist, his tone a bit dry, "With our current energy reserves, I'm afraid…"
The ship sailed through the vast universe, like a solitary speck of dust.
Each day, the energy reserves dropped by a point, and the atmosphere aboard the ship grew increasingly oppressive.
Every breath, every drop of water consumed, seemed to gnaw away at their hope for survival.
The Guangming Shizhe tried to liven the mood with a relaxed tone, but a trace of anxiety could not be hidden in his smile.
Zhang Cheng remained calm, studying the star chart repeatedly, searching for any possibility to shorten the journey, but hope was dim.
The dwindling resources were like a taut string, ready to snap at any moment.
Even the usually optimistic Xingji Warrior Ma Ke fell silent, silently polishing his weapon, his eyes revealing deep unease.
The Xingyun Zhizhe kept flipping through the interstellar navigation manual, trying to find a hint of a solution, but in the end could only shake his head helplessly.
Just as everyone was about to despair, the mechanic A li emerged from the ship's engine room, his face smeared with oil, yet brimming with uncontrollable excitement.
"I found something!" he shouted excitedly, "There's a hidden energy reserve device on the ship! I stumbled upon it while checking the wiring!"
"Energy reserve device?!" the others exclaimed in unison, looking at A li in disbelief.
A li nodded, pointing toward the engine room, "Yes! The energy inside is enough for us to reach the target star system with surplus!"
Cheering erupted instantly inside the ship, sweeping away the oppressive atmosphere.
The Xingji Xiake excitedly patted A li's shoulder, the force so strong it nearly knocked him over.
"Good kid, you've done a great deed!"
Zhang Cheng's face also broke into a rare smile; he walked up to A li, grasped his hand firmly, "Thank you, A li. You saved us all."
The ship was revitalized, and the engine's roar grew more powerful.
The crew seemed reborn, filled with hope for the future.
The Guangming Shizhe rose, preparing to cook a lavish dinner to celebrate the rare good news……
The Guangming Shizhe hummed a lively tune, bustling in the cramped kitchen.
The aroma drifted from the cooking apparatus, whetting everyone's appetite.
She carefully carried out a plate of sizzling energy meat patties, but was accidentally burned on the hand by splashed oil stars.
"Ouch!" she cried softly, the plate in her hand nearly fell.
Zhang Cheng's eyes were sharp and his hand swift, he grabbed her hand, asking concernedly, "Are you okay?" He gently blew on her reddened fingertip, his gaze as gentle as water.
The Guangming Shizhe looked up at him, eyes full of reliance, a faint blush spreading across his cheek.
The surrounding crew exchanged smiles, the air thick with an ambiguous vibe.
"Beep! Beep! Beep!" the shrill alarm blared suddenly, shattering the warm atmosphere.
The ship shook violently, the red warning lights flashing wildly.
"Meteor stream!" the Xingji Xiake's voice came from the cockpit, tone tense, "Massive numbers, extremely fast!"
The ship seemed trapped in a gigantic pinball machine, rocked left and right by countless meteors.
The Xingji Xiake and Ma Ke skillfully piloted the ship, weaving through the dense meteor rain.
However, some meteors carried electromagnetic interference, causing the ship's evasion system to malfunction, and the alarm grew more urgent.
"Damn!" Ma Ke cursed, sweat beading on his forehead.
He switched to manual control, using his superb piloting skill to narrowly dodge several massive meteors.
But the meteor stream seemed endless, and the ship's Energy Shield began to flicker, emitting a strained humming.
"We can't keep going like this!" the Xingji Xiake's face grew solemn, "The Energy Shield won't hold much longer!"
Zhang Cheng clutched the handrail tightly, straining to keep his balance.
He stared at the densely packed meteors outside the window, a deep sense of helplessness welling up inside him.
Could the hope that had just ignited now be doomed to collapse again?
Suddenly, he felt a strange energy ripple coming from behind him.
He whirled around and saw the psychic Li li with both hands clenched, eyes shut tight, lips slightly moving……
"Li li…"
Li li's body emitted a layer of pale violet light, the glow growing brighter until it formed a massive energy field that enveloped the ship.
The once ferocious meteors, upon approaching the energy field, collided with an invisible wall, altering their trajectories and skimming past the ship.
The massive meteor cluster seemed to be swayed by an unseen giant hand, spiraling around the ship, creating a spectacular cosmic sight.
The ship remained unharmed under Li li's psychic shield, and everyone stared in awe, gaining renewed respect for Li li's abilities.
Especially Xingji Warrior Ma Ke, who had always been skeptical of the new member, now couldn't help but give her a thumbs‑up: "Impressive! Truly capable!"
Having escaped the meteor rain, the crew hadn't had time to breathe a sigh of relief before a new problem arose.
The ship's energy consumption was massive; although A li had uncovered the hidden reserves, after the recent expenditure the remaining energy was still tight.
The Xingji Xiake advocated full‑speed ahead to reach the target star system quickly and replenish energy.
"We can't delay any longer," he said anxiously, "If another emergency occurs, we won't even have the energy to counterattack!"
The Xingyun Zhizhe, however, voiced opposition, pointing to a red‑marked region on the star chart, his expression grave: "This sector is called the 'Silent Zone'; legend says a cosmic creature that devours energy lurks within. If we charge ahead at full speed, we may attract its attention."
"Then what do you suggest? Wait for death?" the Xingji Xiake snapped, pounding a fist on the console, "In our current situation, every minute delayed adds a point of danger!"
"Xiake, calm down!" Zhang Cheng intervened, halting their argument, "The Zhizhe makes a valid point; we must act cautiously." He thought briefly and proposed, "We can reduce speed and navigate along the edge of the Silent Zone, thereby avoiding direct conflict with those cosmic beings while conserving energy."
"This… is too slow!" the Xingji Xiake still felt a bit reluctant.
"Trust me, this is the best option right now," Zhang Cheng said, his tone leaving no room for doubt.
Although the Xingji Xiake harbored inner discontent, he knew Zhang Cheng's judgments were always accurate and could only reluctantly agree.
Just as they were arguing, the spaceship suddenly jolted violently...
"What's happening?!" Xingji Xiake snapped his head up, looking at the control panel.
The spaceship's detection System emitted a piercing alarm, and red light flickered on the screen.
Xingji Xiake's complexion changed, and he shouted, "An abnormal energy field detected ahead!"
"Abnormal energy field?" Xingyun Zhizhe stepped to the screen, carefully observing the data fed back by the detection System, his brows knit, "The energy fluctuations are extremely unstable, it seems... it's moving toward us!"
"Moving toward us?" Xingji Xiake gripped the control stick tightly, cold sweat beading on his forehead, "How large is the range of this energy field?"
"It's still expanding! It has already covered at least three star sectors ahead of us!" Xingyun Zhizhe's voice grew increasingly tense, "If we get pulled in, the consequences would be unimaginable!"
Zhang Cheng acted decisively: "Turn immediately! Avoid this energy field!"
Xingji Xiake swiftly adjusted the course, the spaceship's engine roared as it tried to break free of the energy field's gravity.
However, this force was far stronger than they had imagined.
The spaceship felt as if seized by an invisible giant hand; no matter how it struggled, it could not escape.
"No! The energy field is rapidly closing in!" Xingji Xiake's voice carried a hint of despair, "We've been locked!"
"Damn it!" Ma Ke hammered the console hard, "Are we going to be trapped again?"
At that moment, the energy field suddenly released a powerful pulse wave.
The pulse wave instantly swept the entire spaceship; everyone only saw a flash of white, and their consciousness fell into chaos.
When they opened their eyes again, they found themselves in a completely unfamiliar space.
All around was chaos, no stars, no light, only endless darkness and void.
"Where is this place?" Guangming Shizhe asked in terror, tightly gripping Zhang Cheng's arm.
Zhang Cheng's face was unusually solemn; he looked around and said in a deep voice, "I don't know... but this certainly isn't our original universe..."
Suddenly, a cold voice sounded beside them: "Welcome to... Shen Gui Sha Li Tai..."
