Chapter 1438: Buddha Fist (Two-in-One)
Boots trampled, red and white splattered, skull fragments embedded in the wall.
The monk's vision turned completely dark, and he could no longer hear any sound.
A mountain peak hung inverted overhead; friction heated the snow at its summit, melting it into streams that revealed dark blue-black rock. The sharp mountain body swung open an invisible blast of air, piercing straight into the Lotus Flower Sect.
Water vapor boiled and condensed again in the high sky; torrential rain poured down, dark clouds covered the heavens, cloud layers collided, and lightning flashed.
Monks reciting scriptures at dawn gaped wide, the enormous shock leaving their minds utterly blank.
The mountain peak crashed into the Lotus Flower Central Hall.
Mountain and temple, peak and shrine.
Set against each other, the Central Hall was incomparably tiny.
Yet this incomparably tiny building actually bore the mountain peak's collapse, withstood the mountain peak's crushing pressure — not a single brick or tile was destroyed, as if cast from refined steel. Instead, the inverted peak began to crumble; countless boulders were flung out under the squeezing pressure, and the mountain body slowly tilted backward.
Shadows spread along the ground, then smashed down from above.
Tens of thousands of soldiers and a million monks were all horrified.
"Thud!"
"Thud!"
"Squeak!"
Three loud pig cries.
In the azure giant hand, three huge pink pigs leaped up, jumping out of the palm.
Wearing pointed helmets, their four hooves stretched straight out at one hundred eighty degrees, crossing left and right behind them, they swung hard, using inertia to drive their upper bodies — Pig Number One, Pig Number Two, Pig Number Three turned into three small whirlwinds, pink mini-tornadoes, crashing toward the earth in a "pin" character formation.
"Hot blood."
"Boiling!"
"Combination technique!"
Boom!
Pointed helmets collided with the earth, buzzing and drilling wildly; invisible ripples of light spread outward.
It seemed something cracked and shattered; the Lotus Flower Sect's unified formation collapsed in an instant.
The three big pigs rebounded, landing on their buttocks, mission complete, they kicked their hooves and ran wildly.
Losing the ritual's empowerment, the unified formation broken, the Central Hall could no longer hold; the roof caved in, beams snapped, and with nothing left to stop it, the mountain peak smashed the hall flat.
Just as the roof tore apart, tiles turning to dust, the Buddha inside the hall about to be destroyed, the Lotus Flower monks in despair — a pair of invisible giant hands suddenly surged forth illusorily, propping up the mountain peak.
The mountain peak's charging momentum halted abruptly.
Accumulated snow shook loose, falling rustling down.
【Drowning Karma Triggered】
【Drowning Karma Dispersed】!
【Drowning Karma Triggered】
【Drowning Karma Dispersed】!
At the break of the Divine Mountain, Liang Qu embraced with both arms, overlooking the earth; golden light on his body flashed again and again, his gaze fixed as from nothing a half-body illusory shadow — "Buddha" — slowly grew out, propping up the mountain peak: three heads and six arms, eyes tightly shut, ten thousand zhang tall, feet treading the earth, its height beyond sight.
He recognized this thing.
Great Black Heaven!
Looking across the world, Great Black Heaven is also one of the world's top-tier True Gang. In the past, the Northern Court's heaven's pride Halu Khan precisely condensed this body; but the "True Gang" appearing now is obviously not that simple.
Two arms embraced the inverted cone mountain body, continuously lifting it higher, completing the physical shell; it seemed a giant was being born from within the lotus.
The giant knelt on one knee, gradually straightening up; its body was blue, clad in tiger skin, a necklace of five hundred human skull prayer beads hung around its neck, it wore a five-skull crown, many snakes coiled on its body, and its hair was bound with snakes atop its head.
Two arms at its chest: left holding a skull bowl filled with human blood; right hand gripping a crescent blade; the remaining four hands each held a trident, a precious sword, a hand drum, and a hook-lock.
At Great Black Heaven's chest, six black-robed monks sat cross-legged — four solid, two illusory. Outside the six monks, hundreds more Entering Zhen Xiang monks surrounded them; Sanskrit sounds rose in waves, concrete Sanskrit characters encircled them, transforming into Vajra chains.
"Great Venerable! Fire Venerable! Black Venerable!"
"Great Black Heaven God!"
"Dig out their hearts, gouge out their eyes, cut out their tongues — blood debt repaid in blood!"
The Lotus Flower Sect disciples who felt death at their doorstep surged with boundless wild joy, kneeling in prayer; countless faith converged, and light blazed from Great Black Heaven's body, pressing horizontally across the three great powers of Great Shun, Southern Frontier, and Northern Court.
【43】 Li Xianghan screamed inwardly, wishing she could turn and flee.
Li Xianghan screamed inwardly, wishing she could turn and flee.
Even the gathered heroes felt fear under the frenzied, mighty pressure.
The Wolf Lord and Li Da Xi swallowed a mouthful of saliva; needle-like crisis stabbed into their spines — Six Heyi, early warning maxed out.
They knew the main force this time was Southern Frontier and Northern Court, with Great Shun holding the rear; but this was the Lotus Flower Sect, the "imperial capital" of the Great Snow Mountain — to rashly charge in —
Would mean death!
Everyone looked in unison at Liang Qu and Zhang Longxiang — it was agreed Great Shun would hold the rear —
Great Black Heaven closed its eyes; the four solid and two illusory six Venerables, and the hundreds of masters, also closed their eyes.
The blue-skinned giant's two arms propped up the sharp mountain peak, hugging it tight, pressing down with all its might, smashing ruthlessly toward them!
A blast of air exploded outward.
Zhang Longxiang didn't move.
Liang Qu stepped out half a step.
Clothes flapping, the Dragon Spirit Gauze swelled in the wind like a Daoist robe; his entire aura surged violently, golden Qi flames shot straight into the sky; Liang Qu leaned his upper body back, and invisible ripples spread from his whole body.
It's coming, it's coming!
It's this bizarre "ripple"!
Tens of thousands of people widened their eyes; the Wolf Lord and Li Da Xian observed seriously, wanting to know what exactly the "ripple" Liang Qu produced during his imperial capital breakthrough was.
Liang Qu closed his eyes, heart-fire burning, heart-eye penetrating; his forearm muscles twisted like steel cables, swelling three parts, and the coiled, tremendous power was wrung out from the void.
Is he going to smash the mountain peak to pieces?
No, that's not right.
It's not a counter-move.
The Wolf Lord stared fixedly at the fist, suddenly realized something, and abruptly looked up.
The Great Dark Sky held up the mountain peak and smashed it down, sending out rippling waves of Qi. The Wolf Lord's vision crossed past the endless ten-thousand-zhang giant, clung to the corporeal shell, and directly saw the giant's back.
The horizon's vault, between the galaxies.
Ethereal water mist flowed along, clinging to every line on the palm.
The flesh of the great palm's center bulged round and full, colored crimson red, like a fine soft cloth; the palm lines manifested the aspect of a thousand-spoked wheel treasure, the lines distinct, rim and hub alike perfectly round; between each of its fingers there was webbing, like a wild goose king's webbed feet, colored golden yellow, the lines like fine silk.
Great Sun Tathagata!
The Divine Mountain fractured into a platform; nine people stood facing the wind; the ten-thousand-zhang Great Dark Sky raised the fractured mountain peak, brandishing it to smash down; the Great Sun Tathagata's palm center shone brilliantly, striking toward the ten-thousand-zhang Great Dark Sky.
Liang Qu angrily widened his golden eyes; this time the execution was completely different from the past — it was originally the Buddha making a move, yet the Huai King's illusory shadow also appeared in the vault of heaven, the small forearm and the Great Sun Tathagata's palm overlapping.
He clenched his fist, and the Tathagata's palm also clenched a fist!
The Tathagata raised a golden arm, bent the five wheel-fingers — the Bright Fist!
The Chuan Nation covered, the pale purple galaxy manifested into rivers and great rivers, pouring into the fist heart, striking later but arriving first.
The six Venerables looked up, expressions serious; the Great Venerable Bema immediately abandoned the attack, changed direction, and the remaining four arms brandished weapons to rush up head-on.
Liang Qu twisted his body, swung his fist downward.
The mountain body collapsed in mid-air, the Buddha fist smashed into the Great Dark Sky.
The Great Dark Sky was like a snowman piled from ice heaven, encountering blazing golden light, rapidly melting, collapsing atop its head.
Bang!
The fist imprint enlarged inch by inch in the pupils of the six Venerables and hundreds of Acharyas.
"Ah!!!"
"No!!!"
Fear exploded.
The six Venerables, hundreds of Acharyas screamed in agony.
Like a handful of coarse salt sprinkled on leeches, hundreds of thousands of Lotus Sect monks fell to the ground rolling.
The ritual collapsed.
The Great Dark Sky burst open.
The stagnant mountain peak burst into countless shattered rocks, turning into a meteor shower across the sky, friction with the air giving birth to blazing flames, turning into fire meteors, rumbling as they smashed in all directions.
The six Venerables sprayed blood wildly, plummeting from the sky!
In the Great Dark Sky's central core, blood welled up; the Great Venerable Bema gazed at the golden great palm in the horizon, then looked at Liang Qu on the peak — from looking down to looking level, from looking level to looking up — until he smashed into the earth, shock and horror beyond compare.
Bema, Yilianhua; since the Lotus Bodhisattva, only those who reached the Awakened Realm could serve as Venerables, called Great Venerables; no Awakened Realm, no Great Venerable.
He was the eighth-generation Great Venerable; before him Great Qian, after him Northern Court; he played both sides, letting the Lotus Sect welcome a prosperous age! Even more, he brought ritual research to its peak, death and rebirth, creating many inconceivable things; the Great Dark Sky was his proudest work — four solid, two void, six fledgling dragons; even ten could be blocked.
Boom!
A great pit emerged.
Liang Qu stood firm, withdrew his step and folded his arms, his hem dancing in the wind, continuing to look down, as if nothing had happened.
The Southern Frontier and Northern Court froze.
The hundred-thousand-strong allied army was also stunned.
Bai Mingzhe's lips moved soundlessly; he had seen this move, knew this move; in the Hantai Mansion he had seen the former Xingyi Marquis use this move; the former clan head died exactly like this; afterward he specifically investigated — the Great Sun Tathagata counters all rituals; therefore the clan-inherited ritual Xiaoqi General was useless; but, but, it shouldn't have offensive power.
He Ningyuan swallowed a mouthful of saliva.
How, how does it look like Liang Qu is in the Southern Frontier, one man fighting three hundred Zhen Xiang?
Was Xu Haitao this satisfied back then?
No, above Zhen Xiang there are still Yao Dragons as a backstop; the current Lotus Sect, who will be the backstop?
"Demon!"
A scream rang out on the Lotus Plaza, breaking the silence.
"It's the Buddhism-destroying demon, the sutra-defiling demon!"
Panic like a tsunami.
"Die!"
In a flash, a thunderous shout from the vault of heaven.
The Lotus Sect's momentum collapsed completely; on the Divine Mountain's cross-section, six streaks of light shot out side by side from beside Liang Qu, intercepting the four falling Venerables.
Looking toward the distant torrent of a great hand, Liang Qu's mind moved.
On the plateau, beneath the Divine Mountain, floodwaters towered, submerging the pouring avalanche.
Water flowed around the Lotus Sect, encircling a thousand-zhang water wall no one could exit; the Great Sun Tathagata's palm spread open, covering the thousand-zhang water wall above, sealing the last way out, like a child using a bamboo tube to trap a cricket.
Not a single one can escape.
"Kill kill kill!"
The Eight Beasts and Nine Poisons couldn't care about that much shock, forcibly suppressing their hearts, charging at the "Acharyas" on the ground.
Southern Frontier and Great Shun, Northern Court and Great Shun, many exchanges, mutual intelligence, always able to cash out; the Great Snow Mountain is completely different, intelligence scarce and rare, each person's appearance unknown; to prevent mishaps, every engagement is three-on-one.
Haru Khan was too embarrassed to release true Gang, only brandishing a great saber, hacking at monks.
Li Xianghan hid behind Li Yilin, following her grandmother to steal kills, accumulating experience, screaming excitedly inside.
Satisfying!
A cornered beast still fights; a desperate last stand is indeed terrifying.
But they were dealing with heretical cults, outnumbered to boot. Daheitian was blown apart by a single punch from Liang Qu, and every last member of the Lotus Sect was left listless, utterly devoid of any collective momentum — like burst pig bladders, leaking foul yellow fluid all over the ground.
Shockwaves detonated one after another.
Liang Qu and Zhang Longxiang stood shoulder to shoulder, looking down on the battlefield.
Occasionally a Martial Saint jade tablet would shatter, its Qi suddenly flaring — only to be poked and snuffed out in the cradle by the two of them, unable to stir even a ripple.
The Wolf Lord and Li Da Xi radiated soaring momentum; the Lotus Sect's four Venerables retreated step by step.
The Wolf Lord was once a fierce figure who stood opposite the Dry Stage Zhang Longxiang; having garrisoned the Shuofang Platform for years, he was absolutely not weak. Li Da Xi of the Qinggu Valley in the Southern Border was inferior to the Wolf Lord, yet similarly formidable. In contrast, the Lotus Sect's four Venerables were merely four Fledgling Dragons, and not all were peak experts — only one at the "Awakening" realm, the rest one high-stage and two mid-stage.
A thin layer of clear water spread out, flowing along the ground, seeping into every corner to search.
Cellars, caves, spirit weapons, enslaved peasants, the Ming Consort recuperating — while searching, they incidentally shielded valuable items like scriptures to prevent damage.
"Anything?" Zhang Longxiang asked.
Liang Qu shook his head: "Nothing found, just common stuff."
Blood Treasures, Supreme Bodies — everything related to the Netherworld, absolutely none of it!
"Pfft!"
Limbs snapped, blood flowed into rivers.
One monk's head after another hit the ground, blood soaring to the heavens; the clear water on the ground turned into blood water.
The first Venerable's body snapped, smashing into a great pit; Zhang Longxiang found it truly a pity and personally moved to capture him back.
This man was the weakest of the four, barely Fourth Stage, his Root Sea perhaps only forty or fifty times — "feeble" in the extreme; only his physical shell had something to it, pale and translucent with blood color like an infant's, more lustrous than even a young man like Liang Qu.
Yet just as he restrained this Venerable, wanting to ask a few things.
This Venerable shouted in the Snow Mountain language, a string of angry gibberish, his whole person's momentum rapidly shifting.
"Suicide!" Liang Qu's pupils dilated, but he simply couldn't stop it.
Zhang Longxiang's eyes were quick and hands fast; the newly repaired Dragon-Elephant Prison-Suppressing Saber slashed down, and the captured Venerable instantly exploded into a spray of blood mist, cleaved in two with a single stroke.
Zhang Longxiang's momentum rose a notch.
Liang Qu didn't intervene; a Fledgling Dragon's self-destruction is basically unstoppable, and with Zhang Longxiang's Devouring God Seizing Food taking a bite, it counted as making the best use of things, waste utilization — nothing more to say.
"Truly unafraid of death!" Zhang Longxiang's expression was serious. "Huai Wang, can you catch him?"
Unafraid of death — nothing more than dying in the Yang World and going to the Yin World, where becoming a Grand Elder is even possible.
Liang Qu had long been prepared; his Golden Eyes were open at all times.
Heavenly Pass, Earthly Axis!
The one utilizing the remnants isn't only the Great Li Taizu alone!
Suhebaru, Jian Zhongyi — back then he was already this proficient!
Want to die?
Not that easy!
The Qi of heaven and earth suddenly shifted into five colors, chaotic and formless; at the spot where the self-destructing Venerable was, wisps of blood color suddenly appeared, converging into a human shape.
It was precisely the self-destructed Venerable.
Almost the moment the reassembly succeeded, his gaze became lively, his consciousness clear — vastly different from ordinary remnants — until the Venerable met Liang Qu's straight, unblinking eyes.
Liang Qu grinned, revealing blood-red gums.
"You can see me?" The Venerable was startled; the only answer was Liang Qu's large hand.
"Damn it!" The Venerable flew into a rage, only feeling his whole body fixed fast.
Just as he was about to bundle the Venerable up, stuff him into Chuan State to keep Jian Zhongyi and Suhebaru company, a vaster momentum suddenly surged from the Venerable's body, forcefully breaking through the obstruction, prying open his hand that gripped the remnant, and carrying the Venerable away to continue fading.
Liang Qu had long been on guard; he reapplied the seal, locking heaven and locking earth.
A sudden turn for the better — the Venerable was overjoyed.
But immediately after, the "ripples" around Liang Qu surged again, endless pressure sweeping in, actually deadlocking in a wrestling match with the third-party force!
The Snow Mountain gibberish was unintelligible, only the Venerable's expression changed — terror, joy, then terror again.
The Venerable felt he had become the rope in a tug-of-war, constantly pulled by both sides; intense pain made him convulse and distort.
Amidst the cruel wrestling, the Venerable let out a miserable scream, finally exploding with a boom — body and spirit utterly destroyed!
Wisps of red smoke dissipated into the void.
Blood River Realm, Heavenly Furnace Sect — the furnace fire went out, massive amounts of Blood Treasures evaporated into nothing; Wu Lingxu and Fei Taiyu wore black faces.
Liang Qu's expression was ugly.
"No success?" Zhang Longxiang frowned.
Liang Qu shook his head.
A miserable scream rang out again from the horizon.
The two looked up.
Four minus one — the Lotus Sect collapsed like a landslide even more.
Sensing the "Stone in the River" inside the Lotus Sect collapse, the only two Venerables not inside the Lotus Sect — the "two voids" among the four real and two void inside Daheitian — vanished decisively, concealing themselves within the "Stone in the River"!
Liang Qu and Zhang Longxiang were shocked, exchanging a glance.
"Self-severance!?"
At the same time.
The Ice Wheel Bodhi Temple, the Great Void Venerable Ability Temple, Zhabu Mountain Temple — the seven most famous temples of the former Great Snow Mountain, all welcomed the allied army's iron hooves.
Nearby mid-sized temples sensed something amiss; even without connected intelligence, a sudden impulse made them perceive a tremendous crisis.
The fourth month — the southeast wind brought moisture and dampness, melting the thick ice armor covering the earth. Melting ice water seeped into the frozen soil, moistening grass seeds buried for half a year; downy green shoots broke through their seed coats, and tender green spring intent surged up from the depths.
Yaks stood on the mountainside; below the mountainside lay meadows. Sheep that had eaten dry hay all winter grazed the meadows, their chewing mouths full of green grass juice, frolicking happily; the thick mutton stench mixed with the refreshing scent of grass shoots, drilling straight to the deepest part in one breath.
Herdsmen exhaled hot mist, counting sheep as they called, sitting on stones covered in long green moss.
His thick red fingers were unexpectedly nimble, flying up and down, taking apart and re-braiding the whip in his hand that had gone unused for half a year and grown somewhat slack, braiding it tighter, sharper.
——
The whip tip cracked in the air, driving the flock, lest they eat the grass roots.
This year the warmth returned earlier than in past years; throughout the whole winter, not a single sheep or ox froze to death or ran off, and his little daughter was chosen by a high monk to aid in cultivation, who said the girl's virtue had already accumulated for four hundred years, and in her next life there was hope she would be reborn as a male, born into their own household.
Days were getting better and better.
Suddenly.
The flock bleated uneasily, panicking and scattering like headless flies; round dung pellets dropped one after another from under the short-tailed rumps, and yaks ran down from the mountain, mooing incessantly.
The herdsman was at a loss, running and lashing the flock with his whip; unintentionally he looked up and halted his steps.
In broad daylight, the boundless sky where the faint purple Milky Way and bright stars were still visible — nine differently colored meteors lined up in a row, slashing through the vault of heaven, slashing through the sky, leaving nine burning flame trails, rushing toward the distant Shenshan, embedding themselves one after another like nails.
No sound could be heard.
Only splashing dust.
The Shenshan looming in the distant morning mist collapsed and broke; waves like gray dust squeezed out from the fracture, as if someone had blown a fierce breath through the cracks of a wooden bed and stone walls, blowing out all the dust that had settled for who knows how many years in between.
Shanfeng plunged downward inverted, like a steel awl piercing into the Divine Sect, piercing into the lotus pistil.
The shock wave expanded, swiftly destroying the surface.
A scorched smell forcefully mixed into the mutton stench and grass fragrance, blending into a single mass. Wind wrapped in dust howled over; the herdsman finally heard sound, heard the roar of the divine.
In the sacred lotus center, the Wrathful Mahakala was born; the Vajra glared in fury, Mahakala embraced Gaoshan and roared, struggling against the heavens; the brilliant Jin Fu pressed down its hand, effortlessly slapping the Mahakala deity into extinction.
Floodwaters covered heaven and earth, submerging the mountain ridges.
The vast blue hand formed of converging floodwaters lifted the deity's soldiers and struck toward the shrine.
Everything vanished.
"God!"
The herdsman prostrated, kowtowing in worship.
Blood plasma was viscous, sticking to the walls; a few pieces of minced flesh fell with a patter.
"Guoshi!" Liang Qu bowed, "Can you locate those two Self-Severed Zunzhe and the Supreme Body? Either one will do."
The old toad wore a gauze cap, shook a feather fan, pinched his fingers to calculate, and the feather fan pointed afar.
"Northwest, shift five thousand li!"
