Chapter 223: The Human World on Earth
In a pitch-black cave, two people knelt there; through a faint light, one could see they were a man and a woman.
They knelt toward the depths of the cave, expressions tense, heads bowed, as if in repentance—but what, exactly, were they repenting for?
"Heh, it seems those two youngsters really have some skill," a cold voice echoed from the depths of the cave.
"Isn't this the best?" another voice, somewhat excited, said, "Only this way is the game fun to play!"
"Why not just kill them all in one go? Why go through all this trouble?" the third voice sounded impatient, as if having eaten something unpleasant.
"Yes, indeed—we cannot underestimate them. We have poured so much power into these two, yet they have not been subdued. According to the calculations of Heaven's Dao, Chen Yi He and the Little Palace Master could shift the situation; we cannot let them continue their wickedness!" The cold person was Heavenly Disaster; his face seemed coated with a layer of millennia-old frost that would not melt away.
The excited one was Heavenly Fate; he gently stroked the great cleaver in his hand, as if caressing his beloved, "Heh, yes, my Heavenly Fate Blade seems unable to restrain itself!" When he laughed, a ferocious tooth was revealed, showing his beastly nature.
Heavenly Overlord rose, walked from the depths of the cave toward the kneeling man and woman, raised his massive fist, which emitted black true qi; this punch could shatter mountains and split the earth! "These two people?"
"You handle them; they have no more use value!" Heavenly Fate said coldly—everything can be used by him, and once used, it is discarded.
"Then let's send them on their way." Heavenly Overlord said.
The man kneeling on the ground was the Dragon King, the woman was Xiao Xiao Yu; their pupils were whitened, eyes lifeless, they knelt straight, neither speaking nor blinking, not even breathing—essentially living corpses.
Now, their minds held no thoughts; whatever the people of Heaven's Dao told them to do, they did; if told to die, they would go die.
In the depths of the cave, a hidden door was set in the rock wall; Heavenly Fate opened the door, peered inside—it was pitch black, gloomy and cold, devoid of any vitality; he ignited a flame in his palm, its light seeking a glimmer in the darkness, illuminating this other world.
It was filled entirely with bones! A skeleton army! They crowded together yet stood in neat ranks, stationed in this other realm; as far as the eye could see, it was boundless.
"They could never have imagined we secretly stationed the corpse soldiers outside the imperial capital!" Heavenly Fate gazed at the endless sea of corpse soldiers, as if beholding his beloved treasure, utterly delighted.
"Just as the news of Nanjiang City had not yet been released, we had already sneaked through Chen Cang, letting the corpse soldiers travel underground to reach the imperial capital!" Heavenly Fate muttered to himself, also as if speaking to his two companions, "Those ordinary folk could never imagine that beneath their feet lie only bones! Hahaha! Hahaha!"
Heavenly Overlord was about to strike and end the lives of the Dragon King and Xiao Xiao Yu, but Heavenly Disaster stopped him.
"What's wrong?" Heavenly Overlord asked Heavenly Disaster.
"No need to kill them; I have a better suggestion." Heavenly Disaster replied.
"What suggestion?"
"The corpse soldiers are strong, but without a corpse king they lose their core—heh, these two aren't the best candidates for a corpse king? A corpse king of flesh and blood!" Heavenly Disaster laughed as he said.
Heavenly Fate slapped his palm loudly, exclaiming, "How could I not have thought of this! This truly is the best idea!"
Heavenly Overlord withdrew his fist, returned to his seat, sat down with hands crossed on his knees, lifted his gaze to the cave's ceiling, as if he could see through the cavern to the Heavenly Dao above the nine heavens, and said nothing more.
"Help! Help! Who will save us!" From the other end of the cave came a desperate, hoarse cry for aid; the voice had lost all nobility and majesty—before life and death, even an old emperor was no more than this.
"Truly noisy." Heavenly Fate said.
A woman slowly stepped forward, approached Heavenly Overlord, gently pushed aside his hands, sat on his lap, covered her mouth, and smiling said, "Let him keep shouting; let him fully indulge in despair…"
"You're truly ruthless." Heavenly Overlord said to the woman in his arms, shifting his gaze from above to below to look at her.
This charming, sensual woman made him very fond of her.
Xiao Fei followed Heavenly Overlord; in the first few days she could hardly get out of bed, but gradually she adapted. Amid intense pain and endless satisfaction intertwined, she felt a joy that the Wen Huang Emperor could never give her—joy in life, joy in death; as the saying goes, beauties love heroes, and moreover, she loves a hegemon!
"Not as ruthless as you." Xiao Fei pointed with her slender finger at Heavenly Overlord's high nose bridge, very coquettish.
"Come." Heavenly Overlord hoisted Xiao Fei onto his shoulder and walked away.
"Really…" Heavenly Fate shook his head, sighing helplessly.
"What do you think?" Heavenly Disaster turned his head and asked Heavenly Fate. He looked very like Heavenly Fate, differing only in having a ferocious tooth—Heavenly Fate has it, he does not.
In fact, many years ago Heavenly Disaster also had a ferocious tooth. That tooth was linked to his vital meridians; he spent a full ten years grinding it away, just to make himself more perfect! More flawless.
Heavenly Fate, however, did not think so; he did not regard that ferocious tooth as an ominous thing, but rather felt it was his most unique symbol—having it, everyone knows he is Heavenly Fate! Moreover, he believes that under heaven, no one could lay a hand on his ferocious tooth.
Not even others of Heaven's Dao could do it!
"Chen Yi He must break through the Seven Heavens in the shortest time; he possesses the legendary Scripture of Longevity." Heavenly Fate replied, "The game is getting more and more interesting, isn't it?"
"Heh, yes, they could never imagine that among us someone has already ascended to the Eighth Heaven!" Heavenly Disaster sneered, "One hand can crush the Seven Heavens of the Eighth Heaven! But the Scripture of Longevity cannot let him cultivate it."
"Looks like we have to go ourselves?"
"No need for that," Heavenly Disaster said solemnly, "but we cannot allow even the slightest mishap, or all these years of effort would be wasted. What do you think?"
"I think so too! The heavens and mankind are not as good as the earth and mankind."
