Chapter 289: Great King Swallow with Maxed-Out Damage Resistance!

The scene shifted, and Misty was taken by a Skarmory to a high mountain near the Forbidden Land, where she encountered a Bulbasaur with a heart-shaped pattern.

Seeing it picking flowers, it accidentally fell, but Misty caught it and held it so it didn't drop. The Bulbasaur sensed Misty's kindness and gradually let down its guard toward her.

But many Grass-type Pokémon appeared, intending to attack Misty, and the Bulbasaur's attempt to block them was useless.

Misty had no choice but to flee, but Grass-type Pokémon lined the road, surrounding her.

Upon learning that the Grass-type Pokémon in the Forbidden Land were hostile to humans, Ash rushed over and stood in front of Misty.

Pikachu cleared a path with 100,000 Volts, and Ash grabbed Misty's hand, quickly leaving the area.

【Huazi: Ash showed up just in time, looking cool as he stood in front of Misty!】

【Misty: Mm-hmm, thanks to Ash and Pikachu coming over, otherwise I really wouldn't have known what to do.】

【Lily: Inside the White Light Curtain, I saw Misty was scared at first, but when Ash arrived she wasn't afraid anymore. Ash gives people an extraordinary sense of security!】

Afterwards, they saw the Bulbasaur Misty had saved arriving with an Ivysaur; the Ivysaur, sensing they meant no harm, became friendly and even led them back to the base camp.

Meanwhile, the Bulbasaur had lived all its life in the Forbidden Land and longed for the outside world Misty described.

At that moment, Team Rocket came to assist, creating a robot that captured many Grass-type Pokémon.

Misty and the Bulbasaur were also caught, but they tore the bag from inside and rescued all the Grass-type Pokémon.

After the danger was resolved, the Bulbasaur was reluctant to leave Misty and ran over, wanting to go with her.

Misty caught the Bulbasaur!

Misty's Bulbasaur came to the city for the first time, full of curiosity about it.

Ash then called Professor Oak to send over his Bulbasaur to spend time with Misty's, but the Team Rocket Trio showed up again to cause trouble, stealing the Poké Ball containing the Bulbasaur.

However, it was soon discovered; Ash and his friends went in pursuit of Team Rocket. Ash's Bulbasaur, the elder brother of the backyard, took Misty's Bulbasaur and together they defeated the Team Rocket Trio.

"Sis, your Bulbasaur is female and Ash's Bulbasaur is male—any ideas for pairing them up? Just like the little saw crocodile in the Black World." Xiaosheng proposed.

"Sure..." Misty agreed in her heart, but she kept a straight face, saying, "Let's talk about it later!"

On the other hand, Ash also had this idea; now he's thinking even more, since Beautifly and Charizard both have girlfriends, so he should arrange some benefits for the Bulbasaur that's been hard at work guarding the backyard!

White Light Curtain—

After traveling all the way, they finally arrived at the venue of the Longevity Conference.

This time Misty got swollen-headed, having won two Ribbon Badges, and felt she was very impressive.

When Ash tried to tell Misty some battle tips for her Bulbasaur, she said the Grand Festival and Gym Battles are completely different, and advised him not to say anything more!

However, at the crucial moment, an accident occurred—the Bulbasaur, which had never attended such a big event, grew nervous and lost to Ke Duo La.

Afterwards, Misty realized her mistake; she truly shouldn't have gotten so swollen-headed.

【Misty: It's my fault—I got swollen-headed after winning two badges, and I couldn't even listen to Ash's advice!】

【Ash: It's fine; you just suffered from lack of experience back then, and the Bulbasaur also lacked experience. After taking this loss, it won't make the same mistake again—basically, many trainers suffer this kind of setback.】

Just like inside the Light Screen, it's Ash comforting Misty.

Ash is sometimes okay, but sometimes his emotional intelligence is truly lacking......

Certification from his mom.

Huazi felt somewhat relieved; now Ash has changed a bit, gradually approaching Black Satoshi.

After the Grand Festival, Ash and his friends entered a competition where trainers used Flying Pokémon, directing them to snatch mid-air hoops, then hook them onto a target to win.

Such a great competition, Ash naturally participated, and his Proud Bone Swallow performed exceptionally well.

Withstanding a massive tornado, it evolved into a Great King Swallow and secured the final victory of the match!

Indeed, it's a Pokémon raised by Ash.....

Immediately afterward, Ash and his group arrived at the Mushroom Forest, and because of the Team Rocket Trio, they were all surrounded by Dou Zu Gu.

Meanwhile, Torchic saw the little shrimp soldier taking hits to protect it, and evolved into Combusken.

Its combat power surged dramatically, and Combusken defeated those Dou Zu Gu.

After who-knows-how-long of traveling, Ash and his party finally reached Yinyu City and launched a challenge against Naqi.

The Reverse Attribute Master returned; the Forest Lizard was four times weak to Altaria, yet it still won—no wonder it's the top Hoenn trainer.

Pikachu merely swapped with Pelipper, simultaneously losing its battle capability.

In the final match, Naqi and Ash both sent out their Great King Swallows.

Both being Great King Swallows, but Ash's is as durable as he is; its speed isn't as fast as Naqi's, it took multiple hits but remained standing, never falling, and finally found an opening to instantly KO Naqi's Great King Swallow.

【Xiba: That Great King Swallow is absurd—able to withstand successive attacks, while Naqi's gets KO'd in just two or three moves.】

【Naqi: Absurd, truly absurd; even seeing it in person I'm shocked—that Great King Swallow is the most unique I've ever seen, its damage resistance is extremely strong!】

【A Si: Just like Ash...... As a Pokémon under a trainer who withstands the light-wave attacks of Mewtwo and Mew, the Great King Swallow's sturdy physique makes sense—even the Great King Swallows of the Black World have started training electric resistance!】

【Ash: It's not really related to me, it's that Great King Swallow itself has a firm will, is very unwilling to lose, won't get discouraged, and only wants to defeat the opponent!】
