Chapter 26: Dean Liu Erlong

~7 min read 1,342 words

"Are we idlers?" Flandre looked at Li Fei.

"Don't look at me; in their eyes, I was always like that." Li Fei looked at Flandre with the eyes of looking at an idiot.

How could you say these words?

"Hehe."

"My name is Flandre; the dean is an old acquaintance of mine. I've come today to catch up."

Flandre gave an awkward laugh, then looked at the two diligent guards and stated his purpose.

"How can we trust you?" a guard said.

Flandre's soul power surged forth, and seven soul rings—yellow, yellow, purple, black, black, black—appeared.

Flandre lightly said: "If I were a bad person, had lied, and wanted to barge in, do you think you could stop me? Hurry up."

"Yes, Your Excellency, Soul Saint!"

The two guards were trembling with fear; one stayed on duty, while the other turned and ran inside.

Seeing this, Flandre nodded in satisfaction and retracted his soul rings and soul power.

The guard then breathed a sigh of relief, gave a fawning smile: "Soul Saint, we are just carrying out our duties impartially; please don't blame us."

There's no helping it; this guy is a Soul Saint, but he's only a senior Soul Master.

Naturally, he didn't want to offend a Soul Saint powerhouse, or else he wouldn't even know how he died.

"I'm not that petty." Flandre waved his hand after hearing that.

"You two, don't stand outside; come in and sit while waiting for news." The guard let out a full sigh of relief and invited the two to enter the guard hall to sit and wait.

The two didn't refuse, went in and sat to wait.

The carriage was being watched by the guard.

Deep within the Blue Tyrant Academy lies a beautiful garden; this place is also the academy's forbidden zone. Without an order from Dean Liu Erlong, a Soul Saint, no one may enter.

A beautiful woman in blue clothes was holding a flowerpot, watering her beloved flowers; each watering made her mood especially relaxed and happy.

Just then, outside the garden, a guard ran over, panting.

"Dean!"

His steps stopped outside the garden; he dared not step inside, only able to call out from outside.

Liu Erlong's brows furrowed slightly; having her watering suddenly interrupted, she felt a bit displeased, put down the flowerpot, came to the garden gate, and seeing the guard drenched in sweat and panting, she frowned and asked: "What's the matter?"

Her displeasure eased a little; seeing his expression, perhaps something major had really happened.

"Dean, two people have come to the academy; one is named Flandre, saying he's an old acquaintance of yours, coming to catch up." The guard said.

"Two people? Flandre?"

"Flandre, here!"

"Is the other person Xiao Gang?"

Liu Erlong felt a bit excited and asked: "Where are they?"

"Just outside the academy." The guard said.

"Are they both male?" Liu Erlong asked.

"Yes." The guard nodded.

"Bring them in here." Liu Erlong, flustered, wanted to go out to greet them but worried about being seen undressed, so she came up with this plan.

"Yes." The guard nodded and hurried away.

Liu Erlong quickly returned to the house in the garden, closed the doors and windows, and began to dress up.

After not seeing each other for so many years, she showed a rare, nervous expression like a little girl.

Afraid that her beloved would see her ugly appearance, she exerted herself with hands and feet, hoping to make it in time.

"Xiao Gang, I've waited for you so long; you finally came back to see me." While putting on makeup, she thought this, and also felt the anticipation of a long-awaited reunion.

In her mind, the ones who could come with Flandre to look for him, and who are also male, could only be Yu Xiaogang; no one else was possible!

The guard ran back into the hall and saw Flandre and Li Fei sitting quietly, drinking tea and eating snacks.

"How is it? I didn't deceive you, did I?" Flandre laughed.

"No, no." The guard immediately stopped, and from the dean's expression and attitude, he understood that the other party must have an inseparable connection with these two.

Fortunately, he hadn't said any other insulting words earlier, or else he would have been in trouble.

"The dean is in the rear garden; let me take you there."

The guard glanced at Flandre and then at the young Li Fei, thinking to himself: "Could this man be the dean's undisclosed male companion from outside? And this young boy could be their love child!"

Once this idea entered his mind, he immediately became flustered and yet more respectful.

After all, these two are Soul Saint–level powerhouses; even placed in Heavenly Battle City, they would hold exalted status!

If Soul Douluo and Title Douluo do not appear, a Soul Saint is an invincible existence!

Moreover, within the Heavenly Battle Empire, there is no Title Douluo of its own; the only one is merely an Honorary Elder, Dugu Bo, whom they have never heard of manifesting.

As for Soul Douluo, it too has hardly ever manifested.

Everyone is very busy.

"Lead the way." Flandre set down his teacup.

Then he tossed a Gold Soul Coin to the nearby guard, saying: "Thanks for the hospitality; this Gold Soul Coin is for you."

Now that he had money, as long as he made himself happy, he could generously bestow rewards; if others were happy, he was happy too.

"These two Gold Soul Coins are your errand fee; thanks for your trouble." Flandre, handling worldly affairs aptly, then produced another two Gold Soul Coins and threw them to the guard on the errand.

"Thank you! Thank you, sir!"

The two nodded and bowed in thanks; this feeling was truly great.

Thereafter, the errand guard, full of energy, brought Flandre and Li Fei running toward the garden.

Watching the three leave, the guard left behind sighed a little: "If I had known running errands could earn two Gold Soul Coins, I would have volunteered, but it's not bad now either—just a little hospitality and I got one Gold Soul Coin, feeling great; I hope there will be more such big spenders in the future."

Along the way, passing the academy, the buildings here are much more luxurious and prosperous than those of the present Shrek Academy, and the layout is similarly so.

In every aspect, Blue Tyrant Academy completely outclasses Shrek Academy.

Li Fei deliberately probed: "Uncle Flender, the buildings and layout here could be taken as reference; do you plan to move Shrek Academy here to develop in the future?"

"That's indeed worth referencing."

"Moving it over would be fine, but although we're not short of money now, I still prefer Shuto City, after all, that's where our people are, making things easier."

Flender spoke up.

"Then what if you and Aunt Liu become a thing? Would you have to be east one, west one?" Li Fei continued to delve into the topic.

Flender's face turned red: "This! Indeed is a problem! Let's take it step by step; moreover, obtaining a legal and compliant plot of land in Tian Dou City is not that easy, lacking connections and background—even as a Soul Sage it's hard, after all, within this imperial city lie hidden tigers and dragons."

"You have many ideas; why not give me a suggestion?" Flender's eyes rolled about, looking at Li Fei with a sly glance.

What a predicament, in the end they still tossed this difficult problem back to me? Regarding this issue, Li Fei also felt somewhat troubled.

After all, his main base is in Shuto City; the Li family hasn't yet captured Tian Dou City, and here they can't take the initiative.

If Flender and Liu Erlong were to be together, then either Flender would live here and Blue Tyrant Academy would become Shrek Academy.

Or Liu Erlong would go to Shuto City. His thoughts were racing, considering a strategy that would be most beneficial to both sides.
