Chapter 18: Rapidly Increasing Soul Power

The Moonlight Breathing Method, as the name implies, is to cultivate by absorbing the essence of moonlight and dew, breathing rhythmically in accompaniment with the bright, silvery radiance of the moon, using the essence of moonlight to strengthen one's physical body and spirit.

At the same time, when the cultivator suffers serious injuries, this method can also be used to accelerate the recovery of those injuries.

But...

"It didn't explicitly state that it could be used to cultivate soul power," Ning Feiliu thought thoughtfully, "though this probably originated from another world, the Valoran Continent... a cultivation method practiced by the Moon Sect?"

"However, Tang San's Mysterious Heaven Skill can still be used to cultivate soul power in the Douluo Continent, so there is no reason why the Moonlight Breathing Method, which clearly looks more like a method for cultivating soul power, wouldn't work."

"Moreover, this task was given when I asked for a method to increase my soul power; it makes no sense that it wouldn't be able to accelerate soul power cultivation."

Ning Feiliu didn't want to overthink it at this moment; even if this Moonlight Breathing Method couldn't be used to increase the speed of soul power cultivation, it could still provide an Enhancement to his physical strength and spiritual power, couldn't it?

Thus, he directly followed the Moonlight Breathing Method in his mind, facing the bright moonlight and dew in the sky, and began to cultivate soul power.

The swaying, soft moonlight moved in accompaniment with Ning Feiliu's breathing, and finally slowly entered his thin frame.

Inhale and exhale, swallow and spit; his breathing merged into one with the moonlight, transforming into Ning Feiliu's soul power, spiritual power, and... life force.

Looking inside Ning Feiliu's body, one could see—

This was still under the condition that today's moon was not a full moon; Ning Feiliu could feel that the fuller the moon and the more intense the moonlight, the faster his cultivation speed would be.

But regardless, the Moonlight Breathing Method is an extremely excellent cultivation method.

And because tonight's moon was not a full moon, but a waning crescent moon, it appeared in a crescent shape.

At this moment, he looked up at the sky, only to discover...

"Sigh, although the Moonlight Breathing Method is good, it can only be performed at night," Ning Feiliu said with some helplessness, "and as long as the moon is obscured, the Moonlight Breathing Method cannot be used for cultivation."

That is to say, it increases soul power by one two-hundredth per hour; from the moment the moon appears until sunrise, there are eleven hours!

This refreshing and exhilarating state... stopped.

Ning Feiliu opened his eyes, full of confusion; how... did it suddenly stop?

Eleven hours, counting as ten hours, Ning Feiliu could increase his soul power by 0.05 levels in one night.

Having only cultivated for about half an hour just now, Ning Feiliu felt that the soul power within his body had increased by approximately 0.005 levels!

This time, he could clearly feel approximately how much soul power a single session of cultivation could add for him.

Soul power flowed within his body, starting like a small stream, but gradually turning into a surging small river, and then into a rushing great river.

So the cloud layer directly and completely blocked the moonlight.

The spiritual power that Ning Feiliu had originally merged from two individuals also gradually cleared from a turbid small pool, expanding into a pond, its surface as calm as a silver mirror, as if it were the full moon in the sky.

Ning Feiliu felt his entire body cheering and leaping, as if every one of his cells was evolving, letting him step toward a higher level of life.

However, at this very moment...

Then in 20 days, he would be able to increase his soul power by one level!

This is much faster than increasing one level of soul power per year!

Now that the moonlight was completely obscured by the cloud layer, Ning Feiliu naturally withdrew from that state of cultivation.

If he were to cultivate during those few full moon time points of the year, he feared he could increase his soul power by half a level in a single night!

And that increased life force flowed into Ning Feiliu's body muscles, tendons, skin, and blood vessels; under a microscopic view, cells grew and proliferated rapidly, muscles grew, and tendons, skin, and blood vessels became more resilient...

And the Moonlight Breathing Method itself requires absorbing the essence of moonlight to perform cultivation.

That bright moon in the sky, which should have been emitting clear radiance, had been obscured by the clouds that clearly hadn't been blocking the moon just a moment ago.

"And not only has my soul power increased, but my body also seems to have been strengthened, as well as my spiritual power."

Ning Feiliu pinched the muscles on his arm again; although it wasn't very obvious, he could still feel the muscles beginning to become full and powerful.

The clearest change was his spiritual power; he now felt full of spirit, and his thinking ability had become clear, as if he had changed to a new brain.

"But now I can only wait for the moonlight to appear again before I can continue cultivating," he looked up at the sky and said with some helplessness.

Once his strength becomes stronger and he possesses combat capabilities, he will likely not be troubled by this when he can strike the sky and shatter the clouds with one blow.

Even if the power system of the Douluo Continent is low... a Spirit Master at the Soul Emperor level should be able to do this, right?

Ning Feiliu took the books that Dugu Yan had given him from the room and began to read while waiting for the bright moon in the sky to appear again.

Among them, he triggered a task to gain alchemy experience for Renata by coming into contact with the herbs mentioned above.

He planned to wait until tomorrow to complete these triggered tasks.

Finally, after more than ten minutes, the cloud layer was moved by a light breeze, revealing the half-shape of the crescent moon, and the moonlight once again spilled onto Ning Feiliu.

Ning Feiliu didn't say a word, directly sat cross-legged on the spot, and began to cultivate the Moonlight Breathing Method again.

This time, however, he felt that the cultivation speed was slightly slower; after all, the clouds in the sky were still covering half of the crescent moon.

But it was still much faster than the speed at which he cultivated on his own.

After a period of time, the waning crescent moon was no longer obscured by the cloud layer.

Ning Feiliu's cultivation speed returned to the fastest speed from before, and he continued to accelerate his cultivation.

The night passed without incident; he spent the rest of the time basically reading and cultivating.

The next day, the darkness faded, and the morning light gradually rose.

Ning Feiliu opened his eyes; his cultivation session had ended.

Over the course of the night, he could feel that his soul power had definitely increased by about 0.03 levels.

This was mainly because he only started cultivating at about 10 o'clock last night.

It took another hour, which is two hours, to complete the task of the Moonlight Breathing Method and obtain the Moonlight Breathing Method.

He only cultivated for about six hours in one night, during which there was a period when the moonlight was completely obscured by the cloud layer, and he couldn't cultivate the Moonlight Breathing Method at all.

If the night were cloudless, and Ning Feiliu started cultivating from seven or eight o'clock in the evening.

And continued until dawn, cultivating for about ten hours, he would definitely be able to increase his soul power by about 0.05 levels.

Ning Feiliu felt a bit unsatisfied, but now that there was no moonlight, he couldn't cultivate...

However, presumably in some village ten thousand miles away, a certain God King is currently absorbing the essence of the rising morning sun to cultivate his technique.

Come to think of it, the cultivation methods of Ning Feiliu and Tang Fozu are completely opposite.

Tang San needs to absorb the sunlight at sunrise to cultivate his Purple Demon Eye.

Ning Feiliu, on the other hand, needs to absorb the moonlight and dew at night to cultivate his soul power.

"For today, I'll just open the clinic to take in some patients first, and do some experiments while I'm at it; I'll go find Dugu Yan in the afternoon."

Thinking this, Ning Feiliu got straight out of bed to wash up.

Then, after he had a servant of the Seven Treasure Glazed Tile Sect bring him breakfast and finished eating, he went out.
