Chapter 130

"But I just tried my best and could barely persist for one hour..."

"This Element God's Fifth Trial is even more difficult than I imagined!" Lin Yu lay on the ground, his face solemn.

The time limit for the Fifth Trial was still two years, requiring 8,760 hours of persistence.

One year has 365 days, two years have 730 days.

8,760 hours divided by 730 days.

This means Lin Yu must persist for an average of 12 hours every day to complete the Fifth Trial within two years!

But Lin Yu just tried his best and only persisted for one hour. This is nowhere near the average daily persistence time required!

Regardless of the difficulty of the previous four trials, Lin Yu could at least move freely and wait until he had enough strength to complete them.

But now, if Lin Yu wants to complete the Fifth Trial, he must spend a lot of time staying here!

Once he runs around and wastes a few months, he might fail because of it!

"It seems that for this trial, I must be single-minded, devote myself entirely to it, and spend a lot of time here. I can't go do other things anymore."

"Then I'll go into seclusion."

Lin Yu left the Inheritance Secret Realm first, then immediately ordered: "Come here! Pass on my order: I will go into seclusion for deep cultivation. Within two years, no one is allowed to disturb me, except for Xue'er, the Clan Leader, and the Seven Great Elders!"

"Yes! Young Clan Leader!"

After passing the order, Lin Yu entered the Inheritance Secret Realm again. Next, he began his seclusion to tackle the Fifth Trial?

He entered the range of the elemental baptism divine light again and again, but was forcibly blasted out again and again.

"Again!"

Lin Yu entered a crazy mode of impact. 24 hours a day, apart from recovering his state, he was accepting the baptism.

After a full seven days.

Lin Yu was so exhausted that he lay on the ground, looking at the remaining stats. His face became more and more solemn: "Even if I don't sleep and undergo ultra-high-intensity elemental baptism, I've only accumulated thirty hours of persistence in seven full days, and the longest single session was only 3 hours."

"At this rate, even three years wouldn't be enough!"

Lin Yu felt immense pressure. This was the first trial where he could see the finish line and his own progress.

The data could accurately tell him that if he followed the current pace, the probability of completing the trial was 0.

And he could feel that after seven days, his body and mental power were gradually strengthening!

In this seven-colored divine light of the Fifth Trial, there seemed to be energy that could enhance his body and mental power.

"Body and mental power are the keys to the final fusion of the god position. If these two items do not have a sufficiently strong foundation, the final fusion of the god position might lead to the body exploding and dying, and the god position fusion failing!"

"Although this trial is difficult, it is crucial. It determines whether I have the conditions to inherit the god position, or even inherit the seven Element God positions simultaneously!" Lin Yu's expression was serious.

If a mortal Spirit Master breaks through to level 100 and cannot create their own god position, they can only become a level 100 God Official without a god position. They are not a true god and do not have eternal, endless life; they will also die.

They just live much longer than mortal Spirit Masters.

The so-called gods in the Douluo world are those who possess godhood and god positions.

Only by carrying godhood and fusing with a god position can one be considered a god!

And fusing with a god position is more difficult than absorbing a spirit ring. When a god's successor completes all trials and finally fuses with the god position, if their mental power and body cannot reach the strength of that level of god position.

Then, just like being unable to withstand absorbing a spirit ring that exceeds one's own limit, they will eventually explode and die.

Therefore, this trial is crucial. It is also a trial that almost all gods must give to their successors to help them improve their physical strength and mental power, such as the Third Trial in the Sea God's Nine Trials, Tidal Body Refining.

"The Element Gods couldn't have given me a trial that is impossible to complete. Perhaps under the elemental baptism, my body and mental power will gradually become stronger, and the time I can persist will also be longer."

"I shouldn't be too hasty; I should combine work and rest." Lin Yu thought for a moment and decided to have a good sleep to rest.

After a sleep, he was full of energy, in excellent condition, and started trying again.

Every day that followed, Lin Yu shed sweat, exhausted himself every day, and was very diligent and hardworking, without the slightest bit of slack.

Time flew by! Three months later.

Lin Yu's soul power stepped from the peak of level 68 to level 69, and his body and spirit were much stronger than three months ago.

And just as he guessed, after his body and mental power were enhanced by the baptism, the time Lin Yu could persist in one go also grew significantly.

He could manage about 9 hours a day.

"Not enough! This is far from enough, and it doesn't even reach the passing line of an average of 12 hours a day. I must be more persistent!"

Another three months later!

Twelve hours!

Lin Yu finally reached the passing line of an average of 12 hours a day.

"Reached the passing line."

But Lin Yu still couldn't slack off, because it took a full half-year to reach the daily average passing line, and the time lost before would lead to an increase in the required daily average time for the remaining year and a half.

It had reached a requirement of 13.5 hours per day.

"One and a half years, 547 days, 7,384 hours left!"

"Again!!"

Another three months later, the time Lin Yu could persist in a day reached 15 hours!

After a full year!

Lin Yu reached a persistence time of 18 hours a day!

The daily average duration began to gradually decrease!

It reached a daily average persistence of 12.7 hours.

Another three months!

Lin Yu's daily persistence time had reached a terrifying 21 hours, using only three hours a day to rest and recover his state, and this was already the limit of what he could do!

The daily average persistence dropped again to 10.3 hours.

One and a half years later!

Lin Yu only needed to persist for an average of 5.1 hours a day to complete the Fifth Trial!

It was also during this time that Lin Yu's soul power finally broke through to level 70 and stepped into the Soul Saint realm!

"Finally broke through."

In the Inheritance Secret Realm, Lin Yu clenched his fists and sighed slightly in his heart: "In order to go all out for the Element God's Fifth Trial, I wasted too much time and delayed my cultivation. It took a full year and a half for my soul power to break through from the peak of level 68 to level 70."

"However, during this time, my body and mental power have also been terrifically enhanced, so it can be considered growth."

Under the elemental baptism, Lin Yu's current body and mental power were already comparable to a peak level 97 Titled Douluo!

And without realizing it, Lin Yu had reached the age of 13.

He was already a 13-year-old youth, and he had once again refreshed Qian Renxue's record for the youngest.

He became the youngest Spirit Master on the continent to break through to Soul Saint: 13 years old, level 70!

The 13-year-old Lin Yu was high-spirited. Besides being full of youthful vigor, he also had a bit more charm and spirit of a mature man. His facial features became more compact, refined, and handsome, and his figure became more and more perfect and mature.

His height had also reached 1.8 meters!

He was already a great handsome guy!
