Chapter 5: Seven-Colored Spirit Bird, Absorbing the First Spirit Ring

The next day, early morning.

Lin Yu and Qian Daoliu set off early for the Star Dou Great Forest.

Wuhun City is relatively close to the Star Dou Great Forest; it takes just over a day to arrive by carriage.

In the carriage.

Qian Daoliu began his instruction of Lin Yu for the first time: "Xiao Yu, do you know what three elements are essential to becoming a powerful Spirit Master, given your innate conditions?"

"Please enlighten me, Teacher," Lin Yu asked humbly.

"First, determine your cultivation direction and choose the most suitable Spirit Ring."

"Second, possess sufficiently strong combat ability, technique, and awareness. This is very important; if you do not know how to fight or brawl, then even if you possess a very strong martial soul and soul skills, you will be unable to become a true powerhouse among those of the same rank."

"Third, cultivate a calm and composed combat mindset."

"The mindset during combat and slaughter between Spirit Masters is also particularly important. If you encounter an evenly matched opponent, your mindset is almost the key to victory or defeat."

"If your heart becomes chaotic during battle, you lose your composure and become impulsive, then you will unconsciously reveal flaws, and the enemy can seize these flaws to kill you in one blow!"

Qian Daoliu was very serious and solemn as he continued: "Therefore, after we return, Teacher will focus on training your combat ability, awareness, and mindset."

"I understand, Teacher."

Qian Daoliu asked: "Then let us discuss the first element again. What kind of Soul Beast Spirit Ring do you think is most suitable for you?"

Lin Yu thought for a moment and replied: "Hmm, I think first is the attribute, and second is the Soul Beast species and bloodline—what kind of abilities this Soul Beast possesses."

"Not bad. It seems your theoretical knowledge as a Spirit Master is basically very good." Qian Daoliu nodded inwardly and explained in depth: "Absorb the Spirit Ring of a Soul Beast that matches the attribute of your martial soul."

"And the kind of soul skill you can obtain will generally be based on the Soul Beast's abilities, characteristics, and skills, combined with your own martial soul to grant a similar soul skill."

"Suppose you have a defensive martial soul and you choose a Soul Beast with strong defense; then there is a high probability that you will also obtain a soul skill related to defense."

"Teacher, then do you already have the most suitable Soul Beast choice in mind for me right now?"

"Of course. There is a type of Soul Beast that can be said to be a perfect match for your Element Angel martial soul."

Lin Yu asked curiously: "Which one?"

"The Seven-Colored Spirit Bird. It possesses the same seven attributes as you. This type of Soul Beast is very rare and difficult to find, but it does not matter. With Teacher's spiritual power, it is only a matter of time if I spend a little more effort."

"Oh, right." While chatting, Qian Daoliu suddenly remembered something, and a kind smile appeared on his face: "Xiao Yu! In a while, Qianrenxue will be coming back. You haven't met Qianrenxue yet, have you? When the time comes, Teacher will have you two meet and get to know each other."

Actually, Lin Yu had met Qian Renxue, but that was four years ago.

"Ah? Teacher, didn't you say the Young Master went to the Heaven Dou Imperial Palace to go undercover? Can she still come back?"

Qian Daoliu sighed in his heart: "There is always time and opportunity, but she can only return once or twice a year, and at most for a few days each time."

"Alright, we are almost there. Prepare yourself to enter the forest."

"Yes!"

A moment later, the two finally arrived at the edge of the Star Dou Great Forest.

Under Qian Daoliu's lead, they quickly entered it.

As for all the Soul Beasts encountered along the way, let alone approaching, they were too terrified to even run away just from the powerful aura Qian Daoliu radiated.

Lin Yu was venturing deep into such a dangerous Soul Beast forest for the first time, yet he was not worried at all; instead, he was full of curiosity about this world where Soul Beasts lived.

Because the man standing beside him!

Is a Level 99 Title Douluo, known as the invincible existence in the sky.

And his Level 99 spiritual power is extremely strong; Qian Daoliu only needs to scan the surroundings to know if there is anything there.

But the Seven-Colored Spirit Bird is indeed very rare.

The two searched for seven days and seven nights, but did not find any traces.

Until the eighth day.

Qian Daoliu's spiritual power finally detected a Seven-Colored Spirit Bird.

"Found it! Xiao Yu, let's go!"

Qian Daoliu grabbed Lin Yu by the waist and, with a 'whoosh', flew out.

Afterwards, without the Seven-Colored Spirit Bird noticing, they arrived behind a large tree about fifty meters away.

Lin Yu looked over and saw a giant bird about one meter tall, possessing seven colors, standing on a giant rock ahead.

Qian Daoliu observed it carefully, his brow furrowing: "Tsk, what a pity. The cultivation of this Seven-Colored Spirit Bird is likely already over 600 years, probably around 650 years. Forget it, let's find another one."

"Teacher, I think 650 years is fine."

"I know your constitution is different from ordinary people, and absorbing a 500-year Spirit Ring would certainly be no problem, but 650 years is too dangerous. You must not attempt it!"

Lin Yu thought of the most reasonable explanation: "My martial soul seems to be telling me how many years of Spirit Ring I can absorb. Teacher, trust me, it will be no problem."

????

No way? Is this martial soul this badass?

It can even tell you your absorption limit?

"Are you sure?"

"Very sure."

"Fine, then it's this one!"

Qian Daoliu gently waved a palm, and a burst of Light Attribute energy condensed into an Angel feather.

The feather accurately struck the Seven-Colored Spirit Bird.

Swish!

Pfft~

With just that subsequent strike, the nearly seven-hundred-year-old Soul Beast completely lost the ability to move.

Lin Yu only had one feeling in his heart: strong!

"Go ahead, Xiao Yu."

"Mm."

Lin Yu drew the dagger from his waist, walked in front of the Seven-Colored Spirit Bird, hesitated for two seconds, and quickly struck to end its Life.

Then he quickly sat cross-legged, preparing to absorb the Spirit Ring.

One hour later.

Watching Lin Yu's aura gradually stabilize, Qian Daoliu finally breathed a sigh of relief: "This child is truly extraordinary, 650 years! He actually succeeded in absorbing it."

Lin Yu opened his eyes; the feeling of gaining power made his blood surge uncontrollably.

"Not bad, you actually increased your soul power by 4 levels all at once." Qian Daoliu nodded secretly, then asked: "How is it, Little Yu, what kind of soul skill did you obtain?"

Hearing this, the corners of Lin Yu's mouth curled up slightly into a smile: "My First Soul Skill is called Element Control!"

"Element Control?"

"It means increasing my control over the seven elemental attributes to one hundred percent, and I can manipulate elemental power other than my own!"

"For example, like this!"

"First Soul Skill, Element Control."

"Wind Element Control."

Lin Yu spread his palm and mobilized his Wind Attribute soul power; the surrounding natural wind began to gather rapidly in his palm, constantly condensing and compressing to form a wind sphere similar to the Spiral Sphere that Naruto from the Fire Shadow world uses.

Then he struck a tree in front of him with one palm.

Bang!

A large hole was punched through the tree on the spot by Lin Yu; the power was astonishing!

Qian Daoliu's expression changed.

"Or perhaps like this!"
