Chapter 113: The Assessment Concludes

"Teacher, aren't you coming along?" Bai Zhou raised his head and looked at Xian Lin'er.

"This is the Martial Soul Department's assessment; what would I go there for?" Xian Lin'er rolled her eyes slightly and said speechlessly, "Besides, didn't I already give you my reward?"

Of course, the main reason Xian Lin'er didn't want to go was that she didn't want to see Yan Shaozhe, because whenever she saw Yan Shaozhe, she would recall past heartbreaks.

Now that she had Bai Zhou and was living well, she naturally didn't want to reminisce about the past.

"Alright then~"

Bai Zhou felt a little disappointed, but he didn't say much else.

After all, Xian Lin'er was busy with official duties, and he was already very satisfied that she could spend so much time playing with him.

……

After accompanying Xian Lin'er for a bath and eating breakfast, Bai Zhou finally returned to the Outer Court.

At this moment.

The Freshman Square of the Outer Court was bustling with activity; there were only over three hundred people, all of whom had passed the freshman assessment and become official Shrek Academy students.

Because Huang Chutian's team had forfeited, Bai Zhou and Wang Dong directly won the championship, while Huang Chutian's team took second place.

As for third place, it was shared by Dai Huabin's and Ning Tian's teams.

Originally, they would have needed to compete in another match, but because both teams were extremely outstanding, Du Weilun gave them another option—forfeit the match, directly receive third place, and obtain the third-place reward.

Dai Huabin's team was clearly hit hard by Bai Zhou and naturally had no mood to do it again.

Ning Tian's team was likely terrified by the Martial Soul Fusion Skill and was unwilling to face it again, so they agreed as well.

……

On the central high platform of the square, Teaching Department Director Du Weilun stood with over a dozen teachers behind him.

Bai Zhou saw the gloomy-faced Zhou Yi.

At this moment, Zhou Yi's expression was extremely ugly because the championship originally belonged to her Class One, but it had defected to Class Nine! What she hated most was this kind of traitor!

Even if they could betray their own class, such students, no matter how outstanding, would always carry the risk of rebellion.

She regretted it now, regretting not expelling Bai Zhou and Wang Dong immediately! Behind Zhou Yi followed Mu Jin; at this moment, Mu Jin's smile was very bright, and she was surrounded by a group of teachers from other classes.

"Congratulations, Teacher Mu Jin, your students won the championship~"

"Teacher Mu Jin, congratulations, your application to be promoted to a Senior Teacher has been approved; starting next semester, you will be a Senior Teacher of the academy~"

"Teacher Mu Jin, please take care of us in the future~"

The gazes of the other teachers looking at Mu Jin were full of envy, and their tone was full of flattery.

Because being promoted to a Senior Teacher was not just a promotion in title, but also in authority and status; most importantly, it came with the authority to allocate more resources, and the salary was also higher.

"Hmph! Isn't it just good luck that two traitors ended up in her class? What's so great about that!" Zhou Yi listened to the flattery of these teachers, her face turning ugly, and she mocked with disdain.

"Eh, Teacher Zhou, watch your words. These two will be the core pillars of our Shrek Academy in the future. Isn't it a bit excessive for you to say that, Teacher Zhou?" a teacher advised in a low voice.

"Exactly, Teacher Zhou should know clearly why they left Class One." Another teacher said sarcastically.

"Driving students away herself and then blaming others, just because she has a good husband..." Similarly, someone said with a sour tone.

Zhou Yi had faced joint resistance from so many students and their parents, causing quite a bit of loss to the academy.

Many students had major forces behind them that cooperated with Shrek Academy; after these students were forcibly expelled by Zhou Yi, the friendly cooperation between Shrek and these forces naturally collapsed.

If not for Fan Yu of the Soul Tool Department bearing the pressure, Zhou Yi would have been suspended long ago.

"Crack, crack, crack—" Zhou Yi listened to the sarcasm of the surrounding teachers, her face so gloomy it was almost dripping water.

If it weren't for the inappropriate occasion, she would have already beaten all these useless teachers up.

A group of useless Soul Kings daring to discuss her, a Soul Emperor? Did they really think she was made of mud? "Alright, quiet everyone!"

Du Weilun, walking at the very front, could no longer hold back and scolded in a low voice.

Du Weilun held a folder in his hand, walked slowly to the front of the stage, scanned the group of young students with a smile for a week, and then said: "I believe everyone already knows that the freshman assessment elimination tournament has ended. Below, I will officially announce the top three..."

"Third place: Dai Huabin's team and Ning Tian's team tied! Second place: Huang Chutian's team! First place: Bai Zhou's team!"

"Please have the four winning teams come up to the stage."

"Clap, clap, clap—"

Following Du Weilun's announcement, thunderous applause erupted below, and every student looked at the four teams on the stage with envious eyes.

"The top three teams will all receive a unified reward from the academy. Each person can submit a request to the academy when they need a Soul Ring, and the academy will assist them in obtaining one Soul Ring that they can bear and is most suitable for them."

The next moment, Du Weilun announced the reward, which immediately caused an uproar.

After all, although most of the people present were nobles, it was also very difficult to obtain a Soul Ring that was most suitable for oneself.

And now, they could choose the Soul Ring and its age themselves; this was great!

Unfortunately, only the top three had such treatment.

……

However, when Bai Zhou heard this reward, he was very speechless.

This trashy Shrek was as stingy as ever.

Those who could enter the top three almost all had a powerful pillar behind them.

He and Wang Dong didn't need to say anything; they didn't need Shrek's help at all. Ning Tian and Wu Feng came from the Seven Treasure Glazed Tile Sect, and Nanmen Yun'er came from the Nanmen family.

Dai Huabin and Zhu Lu came from the Dai and Zhu families, two behemoths, and Cui Yajie's Cui family, also known as the Nine-Tailed Fox family, was also incredibly powerful.

Only the families of Huang Chutian, Lan Luoluo, and Lan Susu were a bit worse, but not to the point where they couldn't even get a decent thousand-year Soul Ring.

These families would naturally invite the strongest members of their families to obtain the strongest Soul Rings for their descendants, and would never let Shrek intervene.

Of course, this reward could also be saved and used later when obtaining a ten-thousand-year Soul Ring. Theoretically, the later it was used, the higher the cost-effectiveness; even requesting the academy's help to obtain a 100,000-year Soul Ring was possible.

And at this time, these students who won the top three in the assessment would 100% be able to enter the Inner Court.

Entering the Inner Court meant becoming a dog of Shrek Academy, working for Shrek Academy.

Shrek Academy already had the obligation to obtain the most suitable Soul Rings for every Inner Court disciple.

So this seemingly highest-level reward was actually useless.

……

After Du Weilun finished announcing the rewards for the top three, he immediately announced the list of this year's Outer Court Core Disciples and Reserve Core Disciples.

Bai Zhou, Wang Dong, and several Soul Elders were naturally promoted directly to Core Disciples, while other Great Soul Masters who hadn't reached Soul Elder but performed excellently, such as Nanmen Yun'er and Cui Yajie, were Reserve Core Disciples, temporarily enjoying Core Disciple treatment.
