Chapter 14: Ice and Fire Dual Springs? Ten Days Undying True Phoenix Nirvana Method
"There are hot springs here?"
Zhexian asked in confusion; he remembered Dugu Bo saying this place was a medicinal herb garden.
Hot springs themselves are not suitable for nourishing plants, let alone medicinal herbs, because they contain too many minerals, unless they are some rather special ones.
"Hmm, follow me." Dugu Bo unfolded his figure and jumped straight down from the pitch-black, bottomless cliff edge in front of him.
Zhexian glanced at it indifferently, then followed and jumped down.
Very quickly, Zhexian's speed caught up to Dugu Bo.
After the two landed on the ground, Zhexian did not look at Dugu Bo, but instead cast his gaze toward the scene within the valley before him.
To his surprise, the hot springs in the valley before him were not what he had imagined.
The area of the hot springs was not large, but it was divided into two parts; in the oval-shaped pool, the colors of the hot spring water were, unexpectedly, ice blue and vermilion.
Even more strangely, although they were within this same pool, they were clearly demarcated, neither encroaching upon the other, always remaining on their own side.
"It really is an Extreme Yin and Yang Land. I didn't expect there to be such a treasure land here."
Zhexian's gaze wandered between the ice-blue and vermilion hot springs, a trace of admiration flashing in his eyes.
He slowly walked closer to the hot springs, feeling those two distinct energy fluctuations.
The ice-blue hot spring emitted an aura of yin cold, as if it could freeze all vitality; while the vermilion hot spring was incomparably scorching, burning the surrounding air like a raging fire.
"These Yin-Yang Dual Springs have almost reached the extreme of ice and fire," Zhexian said softly, his tone carrying a hint of appreciation.
Dugu Bo stood to the side, a look of pride appearing on his face: "These Yin-Yang Dual Springs are things of heaven and earth's creation. When I discovered this place back then, I was also filled with wonder. It is a pity that although this spring water is good, I do not know how to utilize it; it only serves to accelerate the growth of medicinal herbs."
Zhexian nodded, his gaze still lingering on the two pools of spring water.
He reached out his hand and lightly touched the ice-blue spring water, immediately feeling a bone-chilling cold spread up from his fingertips.
He frowned slightly, then reached out to probe the vermilion spring water; the scorching temperature almost burned his skin.
"Yin and Yang generate and restrain each other; the forces of extreme cold and extreme heat converge here. It is indeed not something an ordinary person can endure," Zhexian said, pulling his hand back indifferently.
Dugu Bo sighed and said, "Little friend, do you have a way to neutralize this poison?"
Zhexian did not answer immediately, but closed his eyes and focused, seemingly sensing something.
A moment later, he opened his eyes, a trace of realization flashing in his gaze.
"Interesting."
No wonder such a treasure land would appear here.
Buried beneath the spring water are the corpses of two dragons; although they are far inferior to the Ten Fiends True Dragon, they can still be considered to have mastered the extreme fire and extreme ice of this world.
"Go enter the pool and remove your clothing."
"Alright."
Dugu Bo did not hesitate in the slightest, removing the armor from his body to reveal a lean frame marked by the passage of time, took a deep breath, and slowly stepped into the Yin-Yang Dual Springs.
With his strength as a Title Douluo, he could remain in the pool for half a quarter of an hour.
"Do not use your soul power."
Zhexian's voice came again, causing Dugu Bo to slowly lift the right foot he was about to lower.
"Little friend, are you sure you aren't mistaken?"
Zhexian kept his right hand behind his back and nodded.
Immediately following, a True Phoenix Shadow appeared from his left hand, and a phoenix cry rang out.
The scorching True Phoenix Flame shot rapidly into Dugu Bo's chest.
"Ten Days Undying True Phoenix Nirvana Method!"
"This method will protect your heart meridian, ensuring you do not die for ten days. This spring water is extremely hot and extremely cold, and it inherently restrains the poison within your body. Persisting for a few days will remove the poison from your body."
"Once your body adapts to this force of extreme heat and extreme cold, no poison will be able to remain in your body."
Zhexian spoke slowly to explain, though he did not know if this fellow Dugu Bo could endure it.
After hearing Zhexian's explanation, Dugu Bo gritted his teeth and reached in anyway.
The temperature of the spring water gave him a harsh welcome the moment he stepped in.
The ice-blue and vermilion spring waters were like two extreme worlds; one side was bone-chilling cold, while the other was scorching high heat.
Dugu Bo stood at the edge of the spring water, his body trembling slightly, but he still persisted in walking toward the center of the spring.
Zhexian's Ten Days Undying True Phoenix Nirvana Method began to take effect.
The golden True Phoenix Shadow spewed out a layer of shield, protecting the vital parts of Dugu Bo's body.
But the torture to his skin still made this imposing Poison Douluo break out in cold sweat.
His body trembled violently in the spring water, the ice-blue cold air and the vermilion heat waves constantly battering his body.
A thin layer of frost quickly formed on his skin, only to be immediately melted by the scorching spring water.
Low groans issued from his throat, and his body struggled in the spring water, barely able to withstand the torture of ice and fire combined.
"I hope you can hold on."
Zhexian turned around and began searching the surroundings of the Ice and Fire Dual Springs for what Dugu Bo called Immortal Herbs.
Immortal Herb...
Does this thing really have anything to do with immortals?
Here, all sorts of plants grew around the hot springs, in a thousand different poses; it looked just like a paradise for plants.
While Zhexian was observing the medicinal herbs all around, a layer of pink light screen caught his attention.
He then slowly walked over.
The surroundings had originally been pitch black, but at this moment they had all turned into a pink expanse. This pink light screen was about ten meters in diameter; the color was very faint, but it was clearly noticed by Zhexian.
It was a large, pale pink flower, leafless, with a stem three feet long. The flower was extremely large, a full foot in diameter, and every petal looked as crystal clear as crystal. The pale pink flower swayed gently with the water mist.
"What flower is this?"
Although Zhexian was puzzled, he still took this flower away.
Immediately following, another large, octagonal white flower fell in response, landing among the medicinal herbs; in an instant, a chill permeated the air, and a thin layer of white frost hung upon the surrounding herbs.
There was also a fire-red medicinal herb that was taken away by Zhexian along with it.
As for the rest, Zhexian had no interest in them for the moment, so he left some here.
To serve as a setup for future matters...
Zhexian stood beside the Ice and Fire Dual Springs, holding those three strange medicinal herbs in his hand, his gaze looking toward the distance with depth.
Although he had failed to find a true Immortal Herb, he did not feel much disappointment in his heart.
After all, how could there be Immortal Herbs in a world where even Immortal Qi did not exist?
He turned to look at Dugu Bo, who was still struggling bitterly in the spring water.
At this moment, Dugu Bo's body had been tortured by the power of ice and fire to the point of almost losing consciousness, but his eyes remained firm, clearly gritting his teeth to persevere.
Zhexian nodded slightly, feeling a bit more admiration in his heart for this Poison Douluo's perseverance.
"Not bad."
Zhexian smiled indifferently, a cold light flashing through his eyes.
