Chapter 59: The Titan Giant Ape Appears

Sure enough, just like the original, the group quickly found a soul beast perfectly suited for Oscar—a thousand‑year‑old Phoenix‑tailed Crowned Snake, and its age was very good.

After Yang Xiong and Tang San analyzed, the Phoenix‑tailed Crowned Snake measured six to eight meters in length, its age between 1,300 and 1,800 years, and in every attribute and aspect it was extremely suitable for Oscar.

Tang San, having been educated by Yu Xiaogang since childhood, knows soul‑beast knowledge very well, and Yang Xiong, having perused the Library Tower of the Seven Treasures Glazed Tile Sect from a young age, is likewise well‑versed in various soul‑beast knowledge.

After the two analyses, the group sprang into action, and soon the Phoenix‑tailed Crowned Snake was surrounded, collapsed on the ground barely alive, waiting for Oscar to strike the killing blow.

During the process they also encountered the snake matriarch Chao Tianxiang and Meng Yiran; judging by their appearance, they had been tracking this Phoenix Crowned Snake for a long time.

However, there was no conflict this time; Yang Xiong stepped forward to communicate, and especially when Ning Rongrong displayed the Seven Treasures Glazed Tile Pagoda martial soul, the two politely left the place.

Meng Yiran was a bit indignant, but the strength of the Seven Treasures Glazed Tile Sect is not something to be provoked lightly, especially since such a great sect is extremely protective of its own.

Oscar spent a full three hours absorbing Soul Rings this time, while Tang San and Xiao Wu seemed, for the moment, to show no sign of breakthrough.

Zhao Wuji's people were unusually delighted: "Little Oscar, your luck this time is excellent; seeing you so happy, your soul skill is really great."

Oscar, his face alight with excitement, said: "Thank you, Teacher Zhao, my soul skill is really great; it's called Flying Mushroom Sausage, which can grant a Soul Grandmaster short‑term flight ability, but only for one minute."

The group was instantly shocked; although the Soul Master World constantly produces new martial souls and soul skills, to actually achieve flight one must be a Flying Soul Master or reach Title Douluo level, otherwise true flight is impossible.

Yet Oscar could do it with merely his Third Soul Skill; although the duration was short, the effect surpassed everyone's expectations.

Yang Xiong fell silent as well; Oscar's soul skill seemed to be naturally intended only for the Soul Fighting Competition, and performed less effectively in other situations.

Even if the flight speed were fast, one minute covers only a kilometer or two, which is essentially useless for a High‑level Soul Master.

Just as the group prepared to leave, the ground seemed to start trembling, as if an extremely powerful creature were passing by.

Yang Xiong was startled; a normal Titan Giant Ape shouldn't arrive this quickly, so what on earth was happening before them?

One must know that the Titan Giant Ape lives in the Life Lake of the Star Dou Great Forest Core Zone, hundreds of kilometers away; it was unexpected that the group, already ready to depart, would encounter such an incident, especially since they had been in the Star Dou Great Forest for only five or six hours in total.

Zhao Wuji reacted instantly, bellowing: "Everyone, get behind me; we'll leave this place at once."

Although the group looked puzzled, they all moved to Zhao Wuji's rear, and Zhao Wuji even summoned his martial soul, the Vajra Bear, which looked extremely serious.

The earth's tremors drew nearer, towering trees were split apart, and many plants were trampled into fragments.

Before the group's eyes appeared a massive creature: a gigantic ape.

The ape stood over ten meters tall, and if fully upright it would be over fifteen meters, its whole body jet‑black like granite, and its two eyes resembled lanterns.

Yang Xiong also shouted: "This is the Titan Giant Ape, a true ten‑thousand‑year soul beast; we must leave quickly!"

At that moment Zhao Wuji remained unusually calm, giving the Titan Giant Ape a slight bow: "Respected King of the Forest, we mean no offense; we will depart your domain promptly."

Now both Zhao Wuji and the group felt a chill; ten‑thousand‑year soul beasts are legendary in the Douluo Shijie, their power even surpasses Title Douluo, and to the group they loom like an insurmountable mountain.

The Titan Giant Ape let out a roar and strode toward the Shrek group; its steps were massive and its speed extreme, closing the distance in an instant.

Zhao Wuji, now unusually alarmed, bellowed again: "You all run, I'll block it."

Zhao Wuji's body suddenly glowed with multiple Soul Rings, clearly having activated several soul skills at once, and the Vajra Bear also appeared immensely powerful.

Especially after deploying multiple soul skills, the surrounding space seemed entirely compressed, the ground under great pressure, and a gravity force pressed toward the Titan Giant Ape—clearly employing Gravity Compression and Gravity Control techniques, along with a self‑amplification skill.

But the Titan Giant Ape roared again, instantly dissipating the Gravity Compression Zhao Wuji had applied, and a mysterious force surged toward Zhao Wuji, stronger than Zhao Wuji's Gravity Compression soul skill.

At that moment Yang Xiong stepped up to Ning Rongrong: "Everyone, prepare to evacuate; this Titan Giant Ape is too powerful."

Dai Mubai instantly activated his Third Soul Skill, White Tiger Diamond Transformation, evidently to aid Zhao Wuji, but as soon as he approached he was struck by an invisible force and sent flying.

The others did not hesitate to summon their martial souls, especially Ning Rongrong's Seven Treasures Glazed Tile Pagoda, which burst forth with various lights, amplifying everyone.

However, given Ning Rongrong's current strength, trying to amplify a Soul Saint like Zhao Wuji quickly drained all her soul power.

Even though Zhao Wuji's strength was formidable, a single swipe from the Titan Giant Ape sent him flying.

Although Yang Xiong had urged everyone to leave quickly, Xiao Wu did not run back immediately; instead, while leaping she seemed to trend toward the Titan Giant Ape.

The Titan Giant Ape's speed and reaction were lightning‑fast, emanating endless pressure; everyone was instantly knocked airborne, especially Xiao Wu, who was seized in its palm.

The group gasped in shock, especially Tang San, whose eyes widened to a violet hue; countless hidden weapons flew from his hands toward the Titan Giant Ape, yet even the sharpest of them merely tickled the ape's skin, unable to pierce it.

Zhao Wuji also let out a roar, his largest black Soul Ring flashing, and he immediately used his Seventh Soul Skill: Martial Soul True Body.

Originally about 1.7 meters tall, Zhao Wuji suddenly grew beyond two meters, sprouting golden hair, his muscles bulging, giving him a wildly bearded appearance.

He roared again: "Everyone, move quickly; no one may act."

But even with his Martial Soul True Body, Zhao Wuji was still too weak against the ten‑thousand‑year Titan Giant Ape; after only a few breaths he was again flung away by the ape.

The Titan Giant Ape, holding Xiao Wu in its hand, stepped away from the spot, apparently heading toward the depths of the Star Dou Great Forest.

Yang Xiong glanced at the group: "Recover quickly; I'll chase the Titan Giant Ape and Xiao Wu."

Before Zhao Wuji could speak, Yang Xiong instantly flashed his form and pursued in the direction of the Titan Giant Ape.

The others looked rather miserable, especially Tang San, whose fierce attack on the Titan Giant Ape had clearly subjected him to a gravity recoil from the ape's roar, leaving him with injuries.
