Chapter 82: Talent is Real; Development Must Start with Education

Jerry is truly at his wit's end now. While he can find a pile of people who cultivate in the entire Spirit Hall, it is very difficult to find people to manage things.

No matter how outstanding a general is, if there are no soldiers, they cannot display their talent.

The Douluo Continent has reached an extreme in its emphasis on cultivation talent, but it seems to have given insufficient attention to talent in other fields.

What Jerry needs now is management talent. He doesn't care if these people possess spirit power; as long as they have management ability, they are qualified for the position.

He sometimes cannot help but sigh that the Douluo Continent seems too focused on the field of Spirit Masters, while neglecting the development of other industries.

In his past life, there was a saying that there are 360 trades, and every trade produces its own master. Yet in this world, Spirit Masters seem to have become the only protagonists.

On the Douluo Continent, those who can become Spirit Masters go to school and cultivate diligently.

For those who cannot become Spirit Masters, it is fine for the children of nobles, as they will also go to school, but the thinking of commoners is different.

Commoners without spirit power mostly go straight home to farm, get married and have children early, striving to give birth to a child with spirit power as soon as possible, completely pinning their hopes on the next generation.

Commoners without spirit power mostly don't even attend school and don't know many characters. They don't know the saying that knowledge changes destiny.

And those who become Spirit Masters gradually undergo major changes in their mindset, becoming high and mighty. Even if they were born as commoners, they slowly start to look down on commoners, and besides cultivation, they care about nothing else.

With no one to use, this status quo has seriously delayed the development of Wuhun City.

To solve this problem, the key lies in education. Jerry decided to take the knife to the Ministry of Education!

The Minister of Education, Yu Shu, was reporting the educational achievements of this period to Jerry.

After listening, Jerry was not very satisfied. The Ministry of Education currently only manages the Wuhun City Academy and hasn't developed much. Apart from the Cultivation Tower, there are no new changes.

What Jerry wants is for the future Ministry of Education of the Spirit Hall to influence all academies on the continent. It seems that is not yet possible.

To achieve Jerry's goal, the road is long and the responsibility is heavy.

Actually, it is not a problem with the Ministry of Education, but a problem with the thinking of people in this world. Before opening up their way of thinking, Jerry can only take action himself and forcibly implement some educational systems.

Although doing this will make many people misunderstand or even complain at first, the matter of developing education is a merit that lasts for a thousand years and must be executed.

Although Jerry has not specifically studied the cause of education, it was very easy for him to come up with a few new educational systems.

Even if there are still many shortcomings, they can be slowly improved later. First, build the framework of education.

In the following days, after researching, Jerry directly announced several educational systems.

First, all those with Wuhun City household registration must attend kindergarten at age 3.

Kindergartens will provide three meals a day, with spirit beast meat for lunch and dinner.

The usual curriculum teaches some characters and exercise methods.

Kindergarten lasts for three years, divided into small, middle, and large classes according to age.

Second, after graduating from kindergarten, children reaching the age of six are assigned according to whether they have spirit power after awakening.

Those without spirit power enter the Primary Academy, with a six-year system. The Primary Academy mainly teaches students primary language and primary mathematics.

After graduating from the Primary Academy, they advance to the Intermediate Academy, with a three-year system, mainly teaching students intermediate language, intermediate mathematics, and Spirit Master world information.

Those with excellent grades graduating from the Intermediate Academy enter the Advanced Academy.

Starting from the Advanced Academy, majors are divided. Students can autonomously choose according to their preferences. Currently, there are mainly architecture, agriculture, management, service, and other majors, with a four-year system.

After graduating from the Advanced Academy at sixteen, they can choose to take up a position in the Spirit Hall's industries.

Those with excellent grades and research interests can apply for the Research Academy to continue learning and research. The Research Academy is an affiliated academy of the Research Department.

Those with spirit power enter the Primary Spirit Master Academy, with a six-year system.

After graduation, according to their cultivation situation, they autonomously choose to enter the Intermediate Spirit Master Academy or the Advanced Spirit Master Academy.

Before age 30 is the golden cultivation time for Spirit Masters. After 30, they can choose to take a position in Spirit Hall departments or continue cultivation according to each person's cultivation situation.

For those without spirit power, tuition fees from kindergarten to middle school graduation are covered by the Spirit Hall.

For those with spirit power, Spirit Master subsidies are issued according to the previous system, and poor students can apply for educational grants from the academy.

The academy also has assessment mechanisms in various aspects, and scholarships are issued to those with excellent grades.

The new system is a mandatory system, implemented in all areas under the jurisdiction of the Spirit Hall.

Once the system was released, the original residents with Wuhun City household registration were happy. This Spirit Hall is helping them raise their children! The meal money for several years of schooling is also a not-insignificant sum.

So, they sent their children to the academy one after another.

The household registration management department under the Information Department allows Wuhun City household registration to be handled with property and 20,000 points.

When the system first came out, it didn't cause any waves, but there were still smart people who analyzed it. Afterwards, Wuhun City became lively.

For a time, housing prices in Wuhun City doubled, with demand exceeding supply.

The public discussed it endlessly.

"Hey, now the housing price in the 8th Ring is up to 1,000 points per square meter! The points in my hand are less and less enough. Now the Task Hall is being squatted on every day by people waiting to take tasks. If there's still no way, I can only go to the construction site to move bricks, 100 points a day."

"Who says it isn't! I really envy the original residents; they are all rich now!"

"Who says it isn't? You know Li Heizi, right! Just a small Spirit Scholar, now he has converted his own house into a rental house. He collects rent every month and has directly become an upstart. A few days ago, he married a new concubine, a level 52 Spirit King. It really is a toad eating swan meat."

"Who says it isn't! Upstart!"

"Yes, upstart!"

"Still chatting here? Take advantage of the time now to go move bricks. I've already reserved a house in the 9th Ring. Isn't it better to earn more points while you have the time?"

"Holy crap, the 9th Ring has already started pre-sales? I have to go grab a house quickly!"

"Hurry, hurry!"

Spirit Hall

Jerry hasn't been idle lately. The matter of education needs a certain amount of time to ferment. He is currently making storage soul tools.

All are unified in an angel style, looking very beautiful, with the Spirit Hall's exclusive mark engraved on them.

Storage rings are divided into nine levels: Level 1 storage ring is 10m, Level 2 is 20m, Level 3 is 40m, Level 4 is 80m, Level 5 is 160m, Level 6 is 320m, Level 7 is 640m, Level 8 is 1280m, Level 9 is 2560m.

These are not ordinary storage soul tools; they come with spirit power storage, energy shields, energy shocks, distress signals, and location positioning functions.

Most importantly, they can store living things. Most storage soul tools cannot store living things because they lack air inside. A ventilation device is still very easy to make.

The Transportation Department can finally start express delivery services now.

Jerry named it Angel Express! Slogan: Angel Express, delivered with certainty!

The Grand Elder is quite satisfied with this Angel Express and proposed to manage it himself.

With someone to do the work, Jerry won't be picky.

With the development of express delivery services, the entire continent's cargo started moving.

Many commodities appeared on the Spirit Hall Logistics Department's newly added list of life services. Buying things in the Star Luo Empire, you can receive them in Heaven Dou City within three days.

Jerry isn't just doing this for the sake of a simple express delivery. After everyone adapts to the express delivery service, Jerry plans to acquire a large amount of supplies.

By then, everything will be delivered by express, and many major forces will likely find it hard to discover. By the time they do, it will probably have been acquired.

Build high walls, store grain widely, and claim the throne slowly—Jerry still understands this principle.

Anyway, after Bibi Dong comes out of seclusion later, she will carry out the Spirit Hunting Operation and build a nation.

He might as well help her, so that he can also let most Spirit Masters and commoners suffer a little less.

As time passed, everything could be bought and sold in the Spirit Hall, and people got used to this fast way.

Many people even stopped storing supplies and directly exchanged all their supplies for points, buying them directly from the Spirit Hall when needed.

Secretly, a large amount of grain and other daily necessities flowed into Wuhun City.

Jerry built more than a dozen large food storage warehouses in Wuhun City. It's good to have spirit power in this world. After the freezing devices were made, they worked twenty-four hours a day, and there was no need to worry about electricity bills.

Three months passed.

In the Heaven Dou Empire, First Prince Xue Qinghe was standing by Emperor Xue Ye's bedside.

"Father, recently the empire's economy has had big problems. Many supplies have flowed into Wuhun City."

"And many people are now used to trading in the Spirit Hall. Many shops in the empire have sluggish business."

"This has a great impact on the empire's tax revenue."

"Currently, apart from the empire's economy, there have been no major disasters in other aspects, but I worry that one day, the Spirit Hall will suddenly close, and the points in the hands of the common people won't be able to buy goods, and the entire empire will directly riot."

"So Father, we must plan early."

"In these three months, hundreds of thousands of citizens have smuggled into Wuhun City every month. The empire's border defense troops intercepted some ordinary people, but there is no good way to intercept Spirit Masters, especially some flying Spirit Masters. As long as they have money, they have even developed a business of helping people smuggle."

Xue Qinghe said with an angry face, but he was actually extremely happy inside.

"Qinghe, I am old and can't keep up with the current era. In the future, you can handle these things yourself. I originally wanted to hold on for a few more years, but now with so many troublesome things, Father, I am really powerless. You prepare to succeed to the throne. You will succeed next month, and the empire will be handed over to you in the future."

Emperor Xue Ye did not answer Xue Qinghe's question but directly stated his thoughts.

He has really been powerless lately.

One thing after another, he is exhausted every day.

After becoming emperor, there were many affairs, and the time for cultivation was greatly reduced. Later, he gave up cultivation.

Originally, his cultivation wasn't high, and now with various pressures, his body can't take it anymore. He doesn't even need Xue Qinghe to take action; he is ready to abdicate himself.

"Yes, Father!"

Hearing Emperor Xue Ye say to prepare to succeed to the throne, he should have been happy. What was all the lurking for so many years for? Wasn't it for this day? But now Xue Qinghe couldn't be happy. He answered expressionlessly and then withdrew.

Xue Qinghe's residence

"Congratulations to the Young Master, the plan of so many years is finally going to be fulfilled!" Snake Lance Douluo said happily. He has been accompanying the Young Master for so many years; wasn't it for this day?

"Uncle Snake Lance, although this is what I have wanted for many years, now that it is about to be in my hands, I can't be happy at all?"

"Is that Jerry really that powerful?"

"The things he did in Wuhun City now directly affect the entire continent, pressing the two great empires and sects so hard they can't breathe."

"Even if I take over the Heaven Dou Empire now, it's a mess, all things ruined by Jerry. How long can the Heaven Dou Empire last as it is now?"

"Every day, personnel and supplies flow into Wuhun City in large numbers, and prices are vaguely rising. Sooner or later, the common people will discover it, and then there will be various opinions, slowly spreading to the nobles, and finally the entire empire. When that time really comes, the two great empires will definitely be desperate. It's hard to say whether I can suppress the Heaven Dou Empire." Qian Renxue said after deep thought.

Snake Lance Douluo silently guarded Qian Renxue's side and did not answer, because he didn't know how to answer. He also felt that the situation Qian Renxue analyzed was very correct.

"I have some inside information. Jerry doing this express delivery business was originally to collect various supplies. For example, the price of rice rose just because of one of his orders."

"The reason is that a flood occurred in a region of the Spirit Hall, and crops were destroyed. The Spirit Hall needed a large amount of grain for disaster relief, and then the ratio of rice to points rose a bit. Many people started exchanging all their rice for points."

"Because points rose, many people ran to real shops to buy rice and then took it to the Spirit Hall to exchange for points, making a small profit in the middle. After this money-making method was exposed, many people went to real shops to buy rice, which caused the price of rice in real shops to rise."

"I sent people to inquire, and in the regions under the Spirit Hall's jurisdiction, there was no flood at all this year."

"Following the flood incident, besides rice, there are many other supplies that caused the price of goods in real shops to rise for this reason."

"Those who thought they made money actually had nothing in their hands in the end, just a few more points."

"Although the points look like more, after the prices of various supplies rose, the purchasing power of points also declined. In the end, only the Spirit Hall made money, and everyone else lost."

Snake Lance Douluo reported the intelligence he inquired about to Qian Renxue. When he received the intelligence at the time, he was shocked by Jerry's methods. Qian Renxue was about the same as his previous expression after hearing it.

Qian Renxue originally reminded Emperor Xue Ye about the price problem, but she didn't expect that this was completely different from what she thought. The Spirit Hall didn't need to close at all to play everyone in the palm of their hand.

Jerry is really a powerful person. Although she had already looked up to him before, she now finds that she still underestimated him.

Fortunately, Jerry is not an enemy, otherwise it would be too terrifying.

At this time, a voice came over.

"Saintess, just received a letter from the Grand Elder. Take a look, it says urgent!" Puffer Douluo walked in with a letter.

"Good."

Qian Renxue took the letter handed by Puffer Douluo. It was stamped with the big words "Urgent," and there were three exclamation marks after "Urgent," which represented a Level 3 emergency.

Spirit Hall urgent letters are divided into three levels. The seal will be stamped with the words "Urgent," and the exclamation marks behind represent the situation of the urgency.

Only true core personnel know the meaning of the exclamation marks.

It seems Grandpa has something very important to say. Under normal circumstances, he wouldn't use a Level 3 urgent letter. She opened Grandpa's letter casually.
