Chapter 113: Migration
The pterosaur's claws grabbed the unconscious Feng Yan and flew toward the sky, letting out a roar.
"Feng Yan!" Chen Hao shouted, then picked up the bow and arrow of a dead soldier beside him; the arrow struck the giant dragon's body, producing a clang.
Chen Hao watched resentfully as the pterosaur carried Feng Yan away, and at the same time he threw the stone in his hand, but it missed the target, falling to the ground midair and tracing an arc; as the stone landed, Chen Hao's mood also sank to the bottom of a valley. Feeling somewhat regretful, he watched Feng Yan being carried far off by the pterosaur and said, somewhat disheartened, "I still couldn't accomplish anything."
"No, you've done a lot." Lin Xiyan lifted her head to look at Feng Yan, feeling in her heart that he would not be in danger; the important thing now was to head to the next country.
"Sir, the pterosaur is flying toward Power State." the dwarf reminded.
Chen Hao opened the map, and the territory of Power State appeared; at this moment Chen Hao clearly knew where their next destination was.
"Then, farewell until we meet again!" Lin Xiyan bade farewell to Chen Hao and slowly walked toward another path alone.
"Now I'm the only one left." Chen Hao said, then turned to look at Wanggong, which was already in ruins—formerly a splendid palace, now just a pile of rubble, with huge cracks in the ground; Chen Hao walked carefully on the road, afraid to step and break the surface.
"It's over." The leader lifted his head to look at the sky; the sky had cleared, then he ordered his subordinates, saying: "Convey my command—starting today, leave Profit State and go to various places to conduct business activities, thereby leaving the profession of bounty hunter forever!"
The subordinate heard the leader's order and merely replied with an acknowledgment; although he also had great doubts in his heart, seeing the leader's stern face, he thought the leader must have his own reasons.
Watching the subordinate slowly retreat, the leader finally sighed in relief; then, making sure no one was around, he grabbed his face skin with his right hand and tore it off violently, revealing the distinctive tear-shaped mole. He let out a sigh and said: "In my previous battle with that guy, I realized one thing—we can't meet them head‑on, or we'll be the ones to suffer. Now that the God King is dead and the barrier has been destroyed, this is the perfect opportunity to change professions, to go deep into various countries and seek chances for a wealthy nation."
"The leader has ordered—effective immediately, everyone will migrate!" the subordinate shouted, as bounty hunters emerged one by one from the building with packs on their backs, they began to think that what the adventurers said was just a scam.
They slowly moved away from the place where they had lived for many years, only to find Jin Meng standing right in front of them, a large sack on his back; upon seeing them, he directly threw the sack to the ground and walked away without saying a word.
"What a strange person." a bounty hunter said, opening the sack and seeing the treasures inside. Just as he felt astonished, the leader appeared.
"Take this sack's contents down and share them with everyone!" the leader said, then turned and walked away without looking back.
Others swarmed forward, scrambling for the treasure, even coming to blows……
"Profit State truly can't be separated from the word 'profit'." the leader said, then, hearing the fighting sounds behind him, he shook his head and slowly departed……
Feng Yan opened his eyes; before him was darkness and void, he lurked in this darkness, looking at his own hands, the red mark on his chest flashing brightly.
"Do you remember who you are now?" a solemn voice sounded.
"I am Feng Yan." Feng Yan replied to that voice.
"And else?" the voice asked again.
"I… a dancer, and also Lin Xiyan, Chen… ah!" Feng Yan said haltingly, when suddenly his head exploded with pain!
The Black Sword guarded Feng Yan on all sides; seeing his pained state, a voice slowly emerged from the blade, saying: "Do you really enjoy tormenting people that much?"
"Using a mortal body to wield the Eternal Spear is truly overtaxing; although you succeeded in killing the giant wolf, your body also reached its limit, memory lost, remembering only the names of important people—is that pitiable?" The voice sounded like it was praising Feng Yan's courage while feeling sorrow for him.
"Return to the game you speak of; these have only just begun, and the game has already entered its most crucial stage—don't get eliminated." After the voice said that, the surroundings gradually brightened, and Feng Yan opened his eyes to find himself flying in the sky.
Feng Yan raised his head, looking at the pterosaur above him, its claws gripping his shoulders.
"Let me go!" Feng Yan shouted.
The pterosaur continued flying forward.
"Then, goodbye!" Feng Yan drew the Black Sword and swung hard at the pterosaur!
Crack!
The pterosaur let out a miserable cry and plunged toward the ground! Feng Yan faced downward, looking at the ground, which was an open clearing.
"Boom!" After a loud bang, the pterosaur fell to the ground, while Feng Yan thought his life would end there; the Black Sword supported him and lowered him gently to the ground.
Ahead lay a small grove, the trees roughly two to three meters tall. Feng Yan lay on his sword, observing the grove before him.
Feng Yan stood up, looked at this utterly unfamiliar place, and walked step by step toward it, seeing pig cages, each holding a small child.
The children themselves were not crying; they merely gazed silently into the distance, but upon seeing Feng Yan they all burst into wails: "Save me! Save me!"
Feng Yan stopped, lifted his head to the nearest child, and asked, "Why should I save you?"
The child said nothing, silently lowering his head.
Feng Yan ignored the other children's cries and slowly walked along the path that could be called a road through the middle of the grove.
Feng Yan, while disregarding the children's cries, continued walking slowly forward until a strange old man appeared before him……
"Who… are you?" Feng Yan looked doubtfully at the old man before him; before he could finish speaking, he saw the old man about to collapse to the ground.
Feng Yan hurried forward to help him up, but the old man seized his arm with one hand and shouted loudly: "Someone come!"
A large group of black‑clad people burst out from the grove and swiftly drew the long swords at their backs!
"Quite a welcoming gift." Feng Yan smiled at the scene before him and then said teasingly.
Having said that, he drew the Black Sword and slashed hard forward.
Clang—the black‑clad person's sword collided with Feng Yan's blade, making a sound; then Feng Yan kicked that person in the stomach.
"This might be your limit!" Feng Yan turned his head to glare at the old man who was gripping his arm, staring fiercely; the old man was startled and released his grip.
"Now you can tell me the reason, can't you?" Feng Yan said.
At this moment, Yang Xin was still within Profit State's borders, looking at the surrounding ruined houses, the palace already reduced to rubble and the Red‑clothed Devil long devoid of life, and he felt a myriad of emotions.
"Is this what money is?" Yang Xin suddenly wondered; he crouched down and looked at the blood‑soaked king, whose lap still held a large lump of gold.
The Red‑clothed Devil's body had become utterly ruined, as if gnawed by some beast; it slowly faded away, leaving only an arm.
Yang Xin looked at that arm, then turned to Wang Tingwan and asked, "Shall we go or not?"
"Let's go." Wang Tingwan replied without turning her head, in a flat tone.
Thus, Wang Tingwan carried her doubts and a faint guilt toward Feng Yan, and set off for the next country.
Watching the two depart, the woman in the sky relaxed; thereafter the Eternal Spear flew toward the heavens. From then on, whenever a meteor streaked across the night sky, it was the Eternal Spear searching for the God King on its way.
"We have already fulfilled the mission the God King gave us; now, dwarves, live by your own strength!" the white‑clad woman said, then closed the heavenly gate and vanished.
The dwarves picked up that arm and also took the magical potions the Red‑clothed Devil had previously prepared, carrying the arm and the potions back to the desert.
The dwarves walked slowly, the chief leaning on his staff behind them; they heard a voice, the chief felt astonished, he could hardly believe his ears, but the voice grew clearer, saying: "Only the potion can restore the former forest."
Back in the desert, the chief suggested: "We should use this arm to remodel this place."
The dwarves accepted the chief's suggestion; they took the arm and dripped onto it the potion previously used to strengthen Profit State's soldiers.
All that could be seen was white smoke rising from the arm after the potion was dripped on it, followed by a hissing sound.
"How could that be?" the clan chief felt something was strange; he thought: "Could it be just my auditory hallucination?"
"Success! Success!" the clansmen shouted, their expressions excited, as if they had witnessed a miracle!
The clan chief followed their gaze and saw that the arm was gradually disappearing, turning into wisps of white smoke, then drifting toward the sky.
"Is this? The final blessing from the War God?" the clan chief said doubtfully, raising his head to look at the sky, and at that moment, the sky began to drizzle.
Raindrops struck the Dwarves' faces, accompanied by their joyful voices, and in the desert, tiny green blades of grass began to slowly sprout.
"This will be... rebirth." the clan chief said.
Feng Yan subdued the black-clad masked men who had come to attack him; they all left, and Feng Yan looked at the person before him, adopting a stern expression and asked: "Then, you should tell me what's going on with the child being held here, right?"
"Nothing, they're just..." the old man's eyes darted about, trying to bluff his way through.
"Just what?" Feng Yan continued to press.
"This... I can't say." the old man replied somewhat embarrassed.
"Well then, goodbye!" Feng Yan raised the Black Sword in his hand, preparing to strike directly down!
