Chapter 150: Variable
Feng Yan stared straight at the person before him, took a while to react, and asked, "What's the matter?"
Yang Xin was in front of Feng Yan, looking at Feng Yan's strong hostility toward him, and Yang Xin showed a smile.
Feng Yan was somewhat confused; there was no longer any friendship between them, and now they had each harmed the other. At this point, how could a peaceful conversation possibly continue?
He only heard Yang Xin say, "Some matters are better left for you to handle."
Feng Yan, not understanding and about to press Yang Xin about his intentions, saw Yang Xin turn his head and slowly walk away.
Feng Yan watched Yang Xin's slow departure, realizing that his probing could not bring the answer he wanted, so he continued wandering aimlessly through the street.
"Can't get an answer?" Feng Yan lowered his head and thought quietly; the more he thought, the more agitated he became, and the answer he longed for remained out of reach, which could trouble him.
And ever since seeing Wang Tingwan in this game, a feeling began to stir in Feng Yan's heart; as the feeling grew stronger, Feng Yan knew that this answer might not appear for some time.
Feng Yan hoped that aimless wandering would gradually calm his mind, but he found that no matter what, the question kept resurfacing in his thoughts.
What kind of person is she, after all?
Later, Feng Yan only felt vexed; after the same sentence kept repeating in his mind, he finally couldn't hold back.
As his steps grew faster, he even knocked over a passerby, who, just as he was about to lose his temper, felt a chill rush from behind.
The passerby turned around, saw a group of plainclothes soldiers staring at him, felt frightened, and bolted away.
"Should we inform His Majesty the King?" a soldier asked.
"It seems the Adventurers have something on their minds. We'll follow them; one of us will go back to report!" the officer commanded the soldiers, then they split up to act.
Feng Yan, unaware of what was behind him, lifted his foot and entered an inn.
"Waiter, bring tea!"
As soon as Feng Yan finished speaking, the waiter came over, wiped the table where Feng Yan sat, and respectfully asked, "Sir, what snacks would you like?"
"Hmm, just bring me a random plate."
"Got it!"
With that brief exchange, the waiter bent over, ran toward the back, shouting, "A pot of tea, a plate of snacks!"
After sitting down, Feng Yan contemplated the issue; he knew clearly that his current goal was to find Chen Hao, for having him would make things much easier.
But where could he be?
While Feng Yan was thinking, a voice came from outside the inn: "In our city, besides the two Adventurers in the palace, there are other people!"
Hearing that, Feng Yan instantly stood, strode out the door, and saw a small stall opposite, where the voice originated.
Looking over, Feng Yan saw a blind man, beside whom stood a banner with large characters—"Bao Daxun!"
Seeing those three characters piqued his interest; he stepped out of the inn and walked toward the blind man.
Feng Yan pushed through the crowd, gradually moving inward, while still hearing the blind man chatter nonstop.
"The Adventurers' appearance may bring a great disaster upon our nation!"
"Tch…" The crowd showed contemptuous looks, having expected the blind man to have some novel news, only to hear a single sentence about a looming disaster.
Who doesn't know that whenever Adventurers arrive in this country, they cause several major incidents?
Wu Wang died miserably in prison, and with the guards protecting him there were already a dozen or so; a criminal killed most of them, and the survivors likely can only spend the rest of their lives bedridden…
Needless to mention Adventurer Feng Yan; the army surrounded him, yet with just a long sword in his hand he won the soldiers' respect. Such a powerful person staying in our country is a good thing!
Everyone left, shaking their heads in disappointment; gradually, only Feng Yan remained standing before the blind man.
Feng Yan was only a few meters from the blind man, when the blind man suddenly lifted his head and asked, "You are Adventurer Feng Yan, aren't you?"
Feng Yan was startled, wondering whether the person before him was truly blind. If not, how could he know my name? He quickly replied, "Yes, I am Feng Yan, but not the Adventurer you mentioned."
The blind man, upon hearing that, said nothing more, but gestured for Feng Yan to come forward.
Feng Yan didn't think further and walked straight toward the blind man, but unexpectedly, when he reached him, the blind man suddenly reached out and seized Feng Yan's wrist.
Feng Yan found it odd, thinking, "What's this about? Grabbing a wrist? He didn't even block the blind man; maybe he wants to read my fortune?"
Feng Yan thought that and smiled.
After a while, the blind man lifted his head and asked Feng Yan, "May I be blunt? A great disaster is looming behind you!"
