Chapter 76: Encounter, Treasure Chest!
The man raised both hands, indicating that he meant no harm.
Aoding slowly withdrew his long spear, and the man let out a long breath.
He thought his life was finally saved, and then the young man began to scrutinize the elderly man before him, especially the old man's single eye and the long spear in his hand, which filled the young man with dread. In particular, the long spear's silver tip bore mysterious characters, and under the sun it flashed white light, looking exceedingly sharp and constantly exuding a lethal power!
"Alright, then, what is it?" Aoding stared at the young man before him, questioning in a cold voice.
"So that's how it is," the young man laughed, then showed a snarling face, continuing, "Looks like you just revived too, Aoding!"
"Who exactly are you!" Aoding again drew his long spear, aiming at the young man's head, ready to thrust at any moment!
The young man stepped back two paces, then fixed his eyes on Aoding before him; Aoding's gaze was still that cold, and he recalled the spear that had pierced his body a thousand years ago.
The young man smiled without speaking, watching the long spear in Aoding's hand, and then black smoke slowly emerged from his right hand!
"What is this!" Aoding's eyes widened, his face showing some terror, yet he forced the expression down, putting on a pretended calm.
"Indeed, a thousand years! You haven't forgotten this sword, have you!" The young man's body began to burn slowly as his right hand ignited, spewing fire that shot upward, accompanied by massive black smoke rain; his body gradually turned into black ash, revealing his true form!
"You are—Su Lu Te!" Aoding looked at the scene before him, and now also recognized the person before him, essentially the true form of the giant.
"Yes, I'm back! The sinner who destroyed your world!" Su Lu Te's whole body was engulfed in black flames, his hand gripping that long sword; he looked at Aoding with contempt, a mocking grin, and continued, "Old man, shall we have another duel?"
"Then, as you wish!" Aoding gripped his long spear, his eyes fixed on the giant before him, ready to fight!
Aoding raised the long spear in his hand and hurled it toward Su Lu Te; the spear flashed dazzling light in the air, then thrust straight toward Su Lu Te's direction!
Just as Su Lu Te was about to raise his own long sword for a counterattack, a black long sword suddenly flew down from the sky!
Clang! The long sword and long spear collided, sparking golden flames, then both fell to the ground.
Aoding could not comprehend why the Eternal Spear, once guaranteed to hit, was knocked down by an ordinary Black Sword. He felt a dimness on his face, and as he was about to raise his long spear again for another throw, he discovered that Su Lu Te had already clenched the long sword in his hand!
The long sword was enveloped in flames, looking extremely dazzling, even surpassing the sun's brilliance!
When that long sword emerged, the sun itself paled before it.
"The demonic sword Leiwanding?" Aoding looked at the flame‑engulfed long sword and said calmly, "It is the demon sword that carves a new world, also the nightmare of the gods."
Su Lu Te lifted the Leiwanding, then lowered it again; Aoding watched Su Lu Te's actions in confusion. After Su Lu Te released the Leiwanding, he gradually turned into a wisp of black smoke and vanished. The Black Sword also disappeared at some point, unnoticed.
"Then, until next time!" Su Lu Te said as he vanished, leaving those words.
Aoding also withdrew his Eternal Mark Spear, staring into the sky absent‑mindedly. He had just emerged not long ago, his power now barely a tenth of what it was, and his weapon seemed to have lost its former might.
Aoding sighed, shook his head, and said with some regret, "If he were still here now, a single hammer would have solved most of the trouble for me, but where is he now?"
The Black Sword inexplicably flew outward, causing everyone inside the cavern to become bewildered. While all were in a state of shock, the Black Sword flew back again, landing directly into the sheath behind Feng Yan.
"Feng Yan, what exactly did you trade with him?" Chen Hao asked anxiously.
"Come, let's talk here." Feng Yan said as he pulled Chen Hao aside, then whispered, "It's like this: I made a deal with him."
"I know that, I'm asking about the content of the deal." Chen Hao grew increasingly anxious, watching Feng Yan, thinking this deal must be a huge wager.
They both had the same question in their minds: "What just happened?"
While everyone was still stunned, Chen Hao snapped out of it, realizing it was the effect of the sword's spirit. He said nothing, and walked straight to Feng Yan, pulling him into a corner.
Then he asked concernedly, "What exactly did you trade with that god?"
"He and I made a wager: we must lead the Dwarves to victory. I swore under his Eternal Spear, which proves I cannot back out, so I must fulfill this oath," Feng Yan said softly, trying to keep a relaxed demeanor so Chen Hao wouldn't sense his inner heaviness.
"But that's unfair! Why should we help him liberate the Dwarves? Our goal is the country's treasure, its riches!" Chen Hao lowered his voice as much as possible, yet remained somewhat agitated.
"It's fine." Feng Yan waved his hand, then acted as if clothing didn't matter, continuing, "Why we entered here was due to luck, and also because in this game I met people better than in reality, or rather, a girl."
"But that's all virtual! Aren't we supposed to return to reality?" Chen Hao replied.
"If the people here were like those in Ju Ren Guo," Feng Yan said, his gaze dimming with sorrow, then turned his head to look at Yang Xin and Wang Tingwan over there, walking toward them while gesturing for Chen Hao to follow.
Chen Hao slowly followed Feng Yan; Wang Tingwan met Feng Yan's gaze directly, not knowing what to say about the boy she once hurt, she could only stare at him. Yang Xin, however, turned his back, as if he had never seen Feng Yan.
Feng Yan ignored the scene before him, looking down into the cavern; the magma had slowly vanished, revealing his original form. And whatever lay below also gave them a sense of relief.
"Is that a Treasure Chest?"
