Chapter 110: Things Are Getting More Interesting

~7 min read 1,383 words

After these words were spoken, the scene fell silent for several seconds.

Then, it erupted.

Those Demon Beasts gathered outside to watch the spectacle instantly burst into laughter.

It started with a few snickers, but soon, it converged into a wave of mockery.

"Pfft!"

A spotted leopard clutched its stomach, unable to straighten its back from laughing, "Ouch, my stomach, it's killing me! If this girl hadn't brought it up, I would have almost forgotten about that incident!"

"Isn't that the truth!"

"Thinking back, it really is... hahaha... too hilarious!"

As it spoke, it mimicked the Elder's expression at the time, making faces and winking, which amused the surrounding Demon Beasts even more.

"Oh my, that scene back then was simply... tsk tsk tsk... hard to describe! A dignified Elder of the Demon Saint Mansion, actually being hit by a little bird... hahaha... hit in the face by bird droppings! Just thinking about it feels unbelievable!"

"Isn't that the truth! If I hadn't seen it with my own eyes, who would believe it was real?"

"This is simply the best joke of the year!"

The surrounding Demon Beasts echoed one after another, laughing until they swayed back and forth, tears streaming down their faces.

"This joke is enough to keep me laughing for a year!"

"A year? I think a lifetime!"

"In this lifetime, I'm afraid I'll never hear a funnier joke than this!"

At first, some timid Demon Beasts, wary of the Elder's majesty, dared not laugh out loud and only whispered among themselves.

But then they thought, with so many Demon Beasts laughing, could he really arrest all of us?

Consequently, the other Demon Beasts also mustered their courage and joined the army of mockery.

Gradually, the laughter at the scene grew louder and more unbridled.

It was as if they were going to flip the entire Demon Saint Mansion upside down.

Various sounds of mockery, teasing, and sarcasm rose one after another, surging toward the Elder like a tide.

"Hey, do you think the Elder will be angered to death?"

"Angered to death? I don't think so!"

"However, he must be furious!"

These sounds pierced deeply into the Elder's heart.

He felt as if his lungs were about to explode, his vision went black in waves, and he was completely stunned by rage.

And what about Nudi?

She remained calm and composed, as if she were not the culprit who had triggered this uproarious laughter.

She even elegantly picked at her ear and asked nonchalantly, "Why, Elder? Is your old self conceding? Or do you have some other brilliant opinion to express?"

The Elder was so angry that his beard stood on end.

His lips trembled, but he could not utter a single word.

He felt that all his majesty and dignity had vanished into thin air amidst this laughter.

He glared fiercely at the Great Demon beside him, signaling with his eyes for him to come out and uphold justice immediately.

That Great Demon bit the bullet and stepped out, trying hard to keep a straight face, wanting to say something to salvage the situation.

But the moment he opened his mouth, he found he could not control the muscles in his face at all.

The surrounding laughter was like magic sounds piercing his ears, constantly assaulting his nerves.

"Ahem..."

He coughed twice, attempting to maintain a serious expression, but the corners of his mouth twitched uncontrollably.

"That... this Wangri Bird of yours..."

He spoke with difficulty, only to find his own voice trembling as well.

"Hmm?"

Nudi raised an eyebrow, looking at him with a half-smile.

The Great Demon took a deep breath, struggling to control his emotions which were on the verge of collapse.

But the moment he saw Nudi's half-smiling expression, he could no longer hold back and burst out laughing with a "pfft."

This laughter was like flipping a switch; the surrounding laughter became even more unbridled, as if it would flip the entire Demon Saint Mansion upside down.

The other Great Demons also clutched their stomachs, unable to straighten their backs from laughing, tears streaming down their faces.

As this Great Demon laughed, he said intermittently, "Sor... sorry... I... I really... couldn't help it... hahaha..."

There was no helping it; everyone at the scene was talking about the Elder getting hit in the face by bird droppings.

He had been holding it in the whole time, but now, he truly could not hold it back anymore.

The Elder was desperately suppressing his rage, and because he was restraining his emotions, his whole body was trembling slightly.

He gritted his teeth, the veins on his temples throbbing, as if they might burst at any moment.

He stared fixedly at the Great Demon who was laughing until he swayed back and forth, his eyes seemingly spitting fire.

He wished he could burn him to ashes.

His clenched fists rattled, his nails digging deeply into his palms, yet he felt no pain at all.

How he wanted to slap this ignorant fool to death, to let him know the consequences of mocking an Elder!

But reason told him he could not do that, at least not now.

He took a deep breath, struggling to control his impending rage, only to find his body still trembling slightly.

He turned around abruptly, his back filled with the air of a desperate flight.

As he walked, he squeezed a sentence out through his teeth: "Bring... those few wretched birds... and that beastly tiger demon... to... the main hall!"

That damned laughter made him feel suffocated.

He could not stay for another moment; he had to leave this place where he had lost all face immediately.

He needed a quiet environment to calm his currently manic mood.

He knew that if he continued to stay here, he would surely lose control and do something he would regret.

The back of the Elder as he left had a hint of fleeing in a panic.

Although the scene was no longer filled with loud laughter, one could still hear the Demon Beasts struggling to stifle their chuckles.

Zhang Yi, the Red Flame Tiger, Nudi, and others followed the Great Demons toward the main hall of the Demon Saint's residence.

Those Demon Beasts who were watching the spectacle were already in a state of extreme excitement.

Now that they saw the main characters leaving, how could they possibly restrain themselves?

They immediately swarmed after them in a flock.

They were terrified of missing the good show that was about to follow.

The Demon Saint's main hall was heavily guarded, so miscellaneous Demon Beasts were naturally not allowed to approach.

But this did not affect their enthusiasm for watching the spectacle in the slightest.

They crowded at the entrance of the main hall, stretching their necks and pricking up their ears, wishing they could shove their heads inside the hall.

Some Demon Beasts even climbed onto nearby tree branches to watch from a high vantage point.

Even more extreme ones transformed directly into their true forms, their massive bodies blocking out the sky and sun, just to see more clearly.

Although they could not hear exactly what was happening inside the main hall, this did not hinder them from exercising their imaginations.

Various versions of guesses and rumors spread rapidly among the Demon Beasts.

This made the atmosphere at the scene even more lively and extraordinary.

To them, whether or not they could hear the details of the spectacle was not important.

What mattered was being able to participate in this grand gossiping event; that was enough.

The Demon Saint's main hall.

The Elder clutched his forehead, which was still throbbing with pain, and limped to the main seat to sit down.

He tremblingly pulled a bottle of ointment from his sleeve and applied it to his temples.

Only then did he squint sideways at the Wangri Bird and the innocent-looking Red Flame Tiger below.

Fury surged into his heart once again, and he slammed the table, causing the water in the teacup to splash out.

"Ahem!"

He cleared his throat, struggling to maintain the dignity of an Elder.

"This Elder is not settling personal scores; it was you lot who broke the rules first..."

Before the Elder could finish speaking, Nudi interrupted him again.
