Chapter 196: Xiong Batian Follows
The two behemoths grappled together, the earth shaking and mountains swaying, dust flying everywhere.
Xiong Batian's attention was entirely focused on the sun fragment; he anxiously observed the battle, hoping to find an opportunity to snatch the fragment.
He did not notice at all that the small earth dragon beneath his feet was eyeing him covetously.
Just as Xiong Batian was distracted, the small earth dragon lunged out and bit down on his ankle.
"Awoo!" Xiong Batian let out a miserable shriek.
Looking down, he saw the small earth dragon biting his ankle and refusing to let go.
"Damn little beast!" Xiong Batian roared, kicking the small earth dragon away.
Although the small earth dragon was petite, its teeth were exceptionally sharp; a deep wound had been bitten into Xiong Batian's ankle, and blood flowed freely.
"Ah! My leg!" Xiong Batian grimaced in pain, clutching his wound and rolling on the ground.
Under the cover of the mother Jubiao, Shuimu continued to search for other sun fragments according to the map's guidance.
She knew that only by collecting all the sun fragments could they completely suppress the Chaos Beast and save everyone.
She arrived at the next location marked on the map and discovered that it was actually a pool of magma!
The scorching magma churned, emitting suffocating heat waves.
"This... how are we supposed to go down?" Shuimu looked at the churning magma and couldn't help but hesitate.
Xiao Pu hugged Shuimu tightly, her little face pale with fright: "I'm scared..."
Shuimu took a deep breath and comforted her: "Don't be afraid, Xiao Pu, I will protect you."
She looked around and found a withered giant tree beside the magma pool, its trunk extending over the pool.
"Perhaps, we can walk across the trunk..." Shuimu thought to herself.
She stepped onto the trunk cautiously, walking step by step toward the center of the magma pool.
The trunk was already rotten and could break at any moment; Shuimu felt terrified with every step she took.
Just then, a huge bubble suddenly emerged from the magma pool.
"Boom!"
In the magma pool, the huge bubble burst suddenly.
The splashing magma scorched everything around it.
From the churning magma, a behemoth slowly rose.
It stood dozens of meters tall, shaped like a giant, its entire body burning with raging flames.
The scorching air distorted, and suffocating heat waves rushed toward them.
"Roar!" The flame giant let out a heaven-shaking, earth-shattering roar, waving its burning giant fists as it smashed toward Shuimu and Xiao Pu.
"Quick, dodge!" Shuimu pushed Xiao Pu away and rolled to the side herself in a sorry state.
The flame giant's fist grazed her body, the scorching temperature instantly scorching her clothes, and a burnt smell permeated the air.
"Cough, cough, cough..."
Shuimu clutched her chest and coughed violently, feeling a burning pain in her throat.
Xiao Pu was pale with fright, hugging Shuimu tightly and shivering.
They had been forced to the end of the trunk, with nowhere left to retreat.
Beneath their feet was the churning magma, and above their heads was the flame giant's massive fist; the shadow of death loomed over them.
Just at this critical moment, a sharp cry pierced the sky.
The Pteranodon descended from the sky.
It opened its giant beak and sprayed a violent hurricane, which slammed fiercely into the flame giant's chest.
"Awoo!" The flame giant stumbled backward, letting out a painful roar.
Zhang Yi jumped down from the Pteranodon's back, landing steadily beside Shuimu and Xiao Pu, and asked with concern: "Are you two alright?"
Shuimu shook her head, fighting back her cough, and pointed to a fragment shining with golden light in the center of the magma pool: "That is the sun fragment."
Zhang Yi looked up and saw a fist-sized fragment floating above the flame giant's head, emitting dazzling light like a tiny sun.
"Pteranodon, keep attacking and draw its attention!" Zhang Yi ordered decisively.
The Pteranodon let out another sharp cry and dove down, its sharp claws reaching toward the flame giant's eyes.
The flame giant was enraged, frantically waving its burning giant fists in an attempt to swat the Pteranodon down.
Taking advantage of this opportunity, Zhang Yi took a deep breath and cautiously approached the sun fragment along the rotten trunk.
Every step was exceptionally difficult; the trunk was precarious, as if it would break at any moment and drop him into the churning magma.
The scorching magma emitted a nauseating smell of sulfur, and Zhang Yi felt as if his lungs were about to burn.
But he dared not stop; he knew he had to get the sun fragment.
He approached the flame giant step by step, his heart beating violently.
The flame giant's massive body cast a huge shadow, pressing down on him until he couldn't breathe.
Finally, he reached the top of the flame giant.
He reached out his hand and grabbed the sun fragment.
The fragment was warm to the touch and radiated powerful energy, as if it were about to melt him.
"Got it!"
Zhang Yi felt a surge of joy and was just about to turn and leave when suddenly, the flame giant turned around abruptly, its burning giant palm reaching out to grab him.
"Oh no!"
Zhang Yi was startled and hurriedly dodged to the side.
But the flame giant's speed was too fast; he only managed to avoid the vital areas, but his arm was still grazed by the burning giant palm.
"Ah!"
Zhang Yi let out a miserable scream; the clothes on his arm were instantly scorched, and a piercing pain surged through him.
He gritted his teeth, endured the pain, jumped down from the tree trunk, and landed on the back of the Quetzalcoatlus.
"Go quickly!" Zhang Yi shouted loudly.
The Quetzalcoatlus spread its wings and flew upward violently, dodging the Flame Giant's attack by a hair's breadth.
They flew to a safe place, and Zhang Yi lowered his head to check his injury, only to see a large burn on his arm, the skin and flesh charred black and dripping with blood.
"Hiss..." Zhang Yi gasped, baring his teeth in pain.
Jellyfish and Xiao Pu hurried over and asked with concern, "Are you alright?"
"I'm fine, just a minor injury."
Zhang Yi said, forcing himself to appear calm.
He looked at the Sun Fragment in his hand, his heart filled with mixed emotions.
This fragment had not been easy to obtain; it had nearly cost him his life.
"There is still one last fragment..."
Zhang Yi took a deep breath, his gaze fixed firmly on the distance, "We must continue forward!"
Just at this moment, a deafening dragon roar suddenly came from the sky, and a massive black dragon descended from the heavens, blocking their path.
This Heilong was a size larger than the Quetzalcoatlus, its entire body covered in black scales, radiating a suffocating pressure.
Its eyes were like two burning torches, staring fixedly at the Sun Fragment in Zhang Yi's hand.
"Xiong Batian!"
Zhang Yi recognized the master of this Heilong at a glance; it was none other than Xiong Batian, whom he had toyed with before.
Xiong Batian rode on the back of the Heilong, a ferocious smile on his face, and said viciously, "Kid, hand over the Sun Fragment!"
