Chapter 199: Reshaping the Divine Temple
Thick black fog rapidly infected the golden sky.
A suffocating aura of evil swept over, pressing down on Zhang Yi until he could barely breathe.
A giant dragon that blotted out the sky poked its head out from the black fog, staring fixedly at Zhang Yi.
Its body was covered in thick black scales, each one emitting a nauseating, putrid stench.
The giant dragon wings unfurled, whipping up a gale, sending sand and stones flying, and changing the color of the heavens and earth.
"Shadow Demon Dragon!" Jinwu Shengzhe growled, a flash of gravity in his golden eyes, "It actually hasn't died yet!"
The Shadow Demon Dragon let out a deafening roar, its massive body diving toward Zhang Yi and Jinwu Shengzhe.
Jinwu Shengzhe understood that the Shadow Demon Dragon's target was Zhang Yi.
Now that Zhang Yi carried the Jinwu bloodline, he was the final piece of the sun and the key to the revival of the Jinwu clan.
If Zhang Yi fell into the hands of the Shadow Demon Dragon, the consequences would be unimaginable.
"Go quickly!" Jinwu Shengzhe shouted, shoving Zhang Yi violently into the distance.
"Go to the Taiyang Shendian! That is the only place where you can fully control the power of the Jinwu!"
Zhang Yi only felt a massive force arrive, his body flying out uncontrollably.
He looked back to see that Jinwu Shengzhe had already met the Shadow Demon Dragon, the man and the dragon engaging in a fierce battle in the air.
The golden True Fire of the Sun and the black power of the shadows collided violently, erupting with a deafening roar.
The entire sky was dyed in gold and black, as if it were the end of the world.
Zhang Yi was extremely anxious; although he had awakened the Jinwu bloodline, his power was not yet fully under his control, and he was completely unable to intervene in this battle.
He could only watch helplessly as Jinwu Shengzhe fought the Shadow Demon Dragon, praying in his heart for the Saint's safety.
Xiao Pu and the jellyfish held onto Zhang Yi tightly, shivering.
Xiao Pu's tentacles were tightly wrapped around Zhang Yi's arm, a low "woo-woo" sound coming from its mouth.
The jellyfish curled into a ball, its transparent body almost disappearing from sight.
The Shadow Demon Dragon's power was exceptionally strong, and after fighting it for a long time, Jinwu Shengzhe gradually showed signs of fatigue.
The golden light began to dim, and the wounds on his body became more and more numerous.
He knew that he could not delay any longer.
He had to send Zhang Yi to the Taiyang Shendian as soon as possible to receive the baptism of the Sun God, so that the Jinwu power within him could be thoroughly ignited to resist the Shadow Demon Dragon.
Seizing a gap in the Shadow Demon Dragon's attack, Jinwu Shengzhe used all his strength to push Zhang Yi even further away.
"The Taiyang Shendian... is at... the end of... the Wujin zhi Hai..."
Jinwu Shengzhe said intermittently, his voice growing weaker and weaker, "You must... complete... the great cause of the Jinwu clan's... revival..."
Before his words had faded, a dazzling light suddenly erupted from Jinwu Shengzhe's body.
He burned his own life, releasing an unprecedentedly powerful True Fire of the Sun, surrounding the Shadow Demon Dragon completely.
Just like that, Zhang Yi and the others could only watch helplessly, unable to do anything.
The golden flames burned fiercely, trapping the Shadow Demon Dragon within.
And Jinwu Shengzhe turned into specks of golden light, dissipating between heaven and earth.
Nudi patted Zhang Yi on the shoulder, "If you don't want the Saint to have died in vain, hurry and find the ruins of the Jinwu Shendian."
Zhang Yi nodded.
The group turned and flew toward the direction of the Wujin zhi Hai.
The Wujin zhi Hai, as the name suggests, is a boundless ocean.
It is said that even gods dare not easily set foot in this sea area.
Looking out, apart from the surging waves, there was only thick, impenetrable fog.
The massive body of the Pterosaur shuttled through the fog, carrying Zhang Yi and his party like a lost Jubiao.
"This damn place doesn't even have a coordinate."
The Demon Emperor impatiently scratched his hair, his long, fiery red hair messy like a bird's nest.
"How long is this going to take to find?"
"Shut up." Nudi glanced at him coldly.
The Demon Emperor immediately dared not speak.
However, he could not suppress the smile on his face.
Just then, a huge fluctuation suddenly came from beneath the sea surface.
Following that, a giant tentacle shot out from the sea, slamming fiercely against the Pterosaur's wing.
"Damn it, what is that!"
The Pterosaur let out a painful screech, its massive body swaying in the air.
The thick fog dispersed, and a giant sea monster revealed its ferocious face.
It had tentacles like an octopus, its entire body covered in a hard shell, its scarlet eyes flashing with a fierce light.
Nudi's expression changed, "What is this thing?"
"What are you afraid of? It's just right for practicing!"
The Demon Emperor licked his lips excitedly, a ball of scorching flame condensing in his hand.
"Don't be impulsive!"
Nudi grabbed him, "This beast has thick skin and flesh, let me handle it!"
An ice-blue longsword appeared in Nudi's hand, the blade emitting a bone-chilling cold.
She leaped, jumping onto the head of the sea monster, and swung her longsword; streaks of ice blades sliced through the air, hacking fiercely into its shell.
The sea monster let out a painful roar, waving its tentacles in an attempt to shake Nudi off.
Nudi was agile, leaping nimbly across the sea monster's tentacles while her long sword continuously struck at its weak points.
Seeing this, the Demon Emperor felt uneasy for Nudi and joined the battle.
He waved his hands, releasing raging flames; although they could not inflict substantial damage on the sea monster, they did disrupt its movements.
The Wind God Pterosaur also regained its balance, let out a sharp cry, and dove down to join forces in dealing with the sea monster.
Zhang Yi held Xiao Pu and the jellyfish, watching the intense battle before him, his heart filled with shock. He had not expected Nudi and the Demon Emperor to be so powerful.
After a fierce battle, the sea monster was finally defeated, its massive body slowly sinking into the seabed.
"Finally dealt with it." The Demon Emperor wiped the sweat from his forehead, looking smug.
"Don't be happy too soon."
Nudi said coldly, "This is only the beginning; there is no telling how many dangers still lie within the Wujin zhi Hai."
Just then, the thick fog suddenly dispersed, and a solitary island appeared before everyone's eyes.
"Look! There is an island over there!"
Zhang Yi pointed at the solitary island and shouted excitedly.
The Wind God Pterosaur carried everyone as it flew toward the solitary island.
The vegetation on the island was lush, with ancient trees towering into the sky.
In the center of the island, an ancient Divine Temple stood silently.
The Divine Temple was already dilapidated, covered in dust and vines, devoid of any light, dim and tarnished.
"This is... the Taiyang Shendian?"
Zhang Yi looked at the dilapidated Divine Temple before him, unable to help feeling a bit disappointed.
He looked around and discovered that the walls of the Divine Temple were covered in ancient runes, complex and mysterious, seemingly recounting the history of the Jinwu clan.
He took out the few sun fragments that Jinwu Shengzhe had given him and carefully inlaid them into the altar in the center of the Divine Temple.
The fragments emitted a faint light, but soon dimmed again, like a candle in the wind, ready to be extinguished at any moment.
Zhang Yi recalled the instructions Jinwu Shengzhe had given before passing away, steeled his heart, bit his finger, forced out a drop of his heart's essence blood, and dripped it onto the altar.
