Chapter 5: Careless, and Leveled Up Again

When Zhang Yi woke up, he felt that his whole body was not right.

The nest... it was too small!

His originally spacious and comfortable bird nest now felt like a tight suit, squeezing him until he couldn't breathe.

He struggled and moved, and with a "Crack!", several dry branches snapped in response.

"Damn it!"

Zhang Yi cursed under his breath; the quality of this bird nest was just too poor!

He climbed out of the broken nest with great effort, only to discover that he... had grown larger!

His body, which was originally only the size of a palm, was now as big as an eagle—no, even bigger than an eagle!

He spread his wings, his golden feathers shimmering in the morning sunlight, almost obscuring half the sky.

"Did I... eat some miracle fertilizer?"

Zhang Yi examined himself in disbelief.

With this size, let alone flying, wouldn't taking a single step cause an earthquake?

He hurriedly pulled up the system panel to check:

【Host: Zhang Yi】

【Race: Wangri Bird】

【Rank: Fourth-tier Divine Beast (Spirit energy needed to break through to Fifth-tier Divine Beast)】

【Blood Qi: 】

【Physique: 130】

【Divine Soul: 630】

【Divine Ability Combat Technique: None】

【Innate Divine Ability: Taotie Feast】

【Refining Points: 0/2】

【Items: Immortal Spirit Grass Spirit Seed *1】

Good heavens, a Fourth-tier Divine Beast!

This leveling speed is faster than riding a rocket!

And this physique and divine soul, they have actually reached a new realm as well.

It seems yesterday's gluttonous binge had a significant effect!

The Refining Points automatically allocated by the system further strengthened his physique and divine soul, making him feel full of power.

As for that Immortal Spirit Grass Spirit Seed, Zhang Yi didn't plan to deal with it for now; he would just leave it aside and talk about it later.

He carefully studied the description of the "Taotie Feast" divine ability and discovered that this thing could not only devour spirit energy but also convert the devoured energy into blood qi, though the conversion efficiency was a bit low—better than nothing, I suppose.

"With this size... if I go out to forage, I'm afraid I'll become a living target in minutes."

Zhang Yi pondered; with his current appearance, he would cause a sensation wherever he went, and if he happened to provoke some powerful character, he would be done for.

Better to lay low for now and adapt to this new body first.

Just as he was thinking this, the system notification sound rang out right on time:

【Ding! New mission issued: Complete the system trial mission and adapt to your current body as soon as possible.】

Well, speak of the devil.

Zhang Yi followed the system prompts and began a series of training exercises.

As he accepted the training mission issued by the system, the scene before his eyes began to shift rapidly.

The first thing that came into view was a massive volcano with churning magma.

【First training item: Control flight. Fly around the volcano ten times without touching the magma.】

The system notification sound rang out.

Zhang Yi immediately began to try flapping his wings, controlling his massive body as he circled the crater.

At first, his movements were clumsy and slow, and he nearly fell into the magma several times.

But as the practice progressed, his flight technique gradually became proficient, and his figure became more agile.

When the ten-lap flight training ended, Zhang Yi was now able to skillfully control his body and fly wherever he wanted to go.

【Ding! Control flight training finished!】

【Second trial item: Strength control. Use your sharp claws to grab ten designated spirit fruits without damaging any other vegetation.】

Accompanied by the system notification sound, the scene before Zhang Yi shifted once again.

Looking out, what appeared before him was a dense jungle.

Ancient trees towering into the clouds blocked out the sun, and the ground was covered in tangled vines and thickets of bushes.

The ten spirit fruits were distributed throughout the jungle; some hung from high treetops, some were hidden among dense branches and leaves, and others were wrapped and protected by vines.

With the experience from the previous flight training,

This time, Zhang Yi flapped his huge wings and navigated through the jungle with great dexterity, quickly and successfully completing the second training item.

Next, under the system's prompts, Zhang Yi successively completed a series of training missions including speed, reaction, eyesight, and more.

After completing all the trials, Zhang Yi felt that his control over his own power was more handy, and his massive body no longer felt cumbersome, but instead full of power and flexibility.

Just as he was joyfully experiencing the changes in his body,

The system rewards followed closely behind.

【Ding! Congratulations to the host for completing all training missions. You have obtained 4 Refining Points and Random Spirit Seed +2.】

【Congratulations to the host for obtaining a new divine skill: Insight Eye!】

【Divine Soul +22, Physique +66】

【Spirit Qi +9999】

【Spirit Qi +1356】

【Congratulations to the host for becoming a Tier 5 Demon Beast, Refinement Point +1】

Damn, that's Tier 5 already?!

Zhang Yi looked at the skyrocketing numbers on the panel, his heart filled with shock.

This is just too easy.

He hadn't even felt like he'd put in much effort, yet he had broken through again!

"Awesome!"

Zhang Yi couldn't help but let out a cheer; this feeling was just so damn good!

Just at this moment, Nudi, who had been silently cultivating nearby, also finished her cultivation.

She slowly opened her eyes, feeling the abundant Spirit Qi within her body, and a satisfied smile appeared on her face.

"This seclusion yielded quite good results."

She whispered to herself.

However, when she subconsciously turned her head to look at her cheap "older brother," the smile on her face instantly froze.

"What the! You... how did you become so big?!"

She widened her eyes, pointing at Zhang Yi with an expression of disbelief.

In her eyes, Zhang Yi had originally been just an ugly, scrawny, strange bird, but now he had turned into an imposing Jubiao, his golden feathers shining with light as if a heavenly deity had descended to earth.

"Uh... this..."

Zhang Yi scratched his head, not knowing how to explain it for a moment.

He couldn't exactly say he had eaten too much and grown big from being stuffed, could he?

"You... you didn't eat some kind of heaven-sent treasure, did you?"

Nudi asked tentatively.

"Ahem, something like that."

Zhang Yi replied vaguely, though he secretly felt relieved inside; it was fortunate that Nudi had such a strong imagination, saving him a lot of effort in explaining.

"What kind of heaven-sent treasure is it? Can you tell me?"

Nudi asked with an expectant look; she was currently desperate to improve her own strength so she could escape her predicament sooner.

"Well, about that..."

Zhang Yi smiled mysteriously: "Heavenly secrets must not be leaked!"

"Hmph! Stingy!"

Nudi pursed her lips in dissatisfaction, but she did not continue to press the matter.

As Nudi, she had already suspected in her heart that her cheap older brother was very likely some super big shot who had reincarnated to cultivate again.

Now, the other party's transformation further confirmed her inner suspicions.

In her view, such a big figure usually had their own secrets, and since Zhang Yi was unwilling to speak, she naturally could not force him.

After all, curiosity killed the cat!

If she happened to learn something she shouldn't know, she might be quietly killed by the other party at any moment.

Just as Nudi was thinking about how to change the subject.

A sudden noise instantly interrupted her train of thought.
