Chapter 641

After deciding that Cheng Long, the older brother, would be the male lead.

As for the other actors, since this is a film that blends Chinese and Western mythology.

As for the Western side, it definitely will be those famous Hollywood stars.

As for the Eastern side, likewise.

The Western actors were left to Cameron and Steven Spielberg to choose, while the Eastern actors were naturally left to Lin Mo.

Lin Mo's idea is very simple.

Huaguo has produced too many mythological dramas, so he specifically selects actors that the audience approves of.

For example, who else could play Erlang Shen?

Definitely it's Jiao Ge.

Likewise, the choice for Sun Wukong is definitely Liu Laoshi.

He is younger than Cheng Long, so of course he can play the part.

So, soon, these actors all received phone invitations from Chenguang Entertainment.

Everyone was the same.

Upon hearing it was Director Lin's new film, and moreover a collaboration with Cameron and Steven Spielberg.

They had no second thought, immediately agreed, without even asking what they would be filming.

Jiao Njun was watering flowers at home when his phone suddenly rang.

He wiped his hands, picked up the phone, and saw it was an unknown number.

"Hey!"

"Hello, may I ask if this is Teacher Jiao Njun?" a strange female voice came from the other end of the line.

"It's me. Who are you?"

"I am Liu Qin from Chenguang Entertainment; Director Lin Mo's new film would like to invite you to play the role of Erlang Shen..."

Jiao Njun's watering can fell with a patter, splashing water everywhere.

"Wait...... whose film did you say?"

"Director Lin Mo, the co-directors are Cameron and Steven Spielberg."

Jiao Njun froze on the spot, his head buzzing.

Lin Mo + Cameron + Steven Spielberg...

During this period, he of course knew about the collaboration of these three great directors.

Although he had withdrawn from the entertainment circle and rarely acted anymore.

But...

He still saw this news.

Moreover, it was such big news.

Of course, he never even thought of acting in Director Lin's film, let alone dreaming about it; he had even dreamed of it in his sleep.

No way, he's a TV drama actor, he rarely does films.

Moreover, he hasn't acted in years.

But who would have thought...

This phone call left him completely dazed.

"Teacher Jiao? Are you still there?"

"Yes! Yes!" Jiao Njun snapped back to attention, his voice trembling slightly, "I'll do it! I must do it! When do we sign the contract? I can fly over right now!"

Liu Qin laughed on the other end: "Don't rush, we'll send you the specific details by email. But... aren't you going to ask about the pay and schedule?"

Jiao Njun hurriedly said: "For Director Lin's film, I'd even pay to be in it!"

After hanging up, Jiao Njun stood there stunned for a while.

The same.

On the other side.

Zhang Jinlai was organizing his book collection in the study when his phone rang.

"Hey?"

"Hello, Teacher Zhang, I'm Liu Qin from Chenguang Entertainment."

Zhang Jinlai pushed his reading glasses: "Oh, hello." His tone was calm.

Why was his tone calm?

That's because he's been through a lot; even hearing that the other party was from Chenguang Entertainment didn't stir much emotion in him.

However...

The next sentence elicited the same reaction from him as it did from Jiao Njun.

"Director Lin Mo's new film would like to invite you to play the role of Sun Wukong."

Pat!

Zhang Jinlai's book fell to the ground.

"You... you say that again?"

"Director Lin Mo, Cameron and Steven Spielberg's jointly directed new film would like to ask you to come out of retirement and play the Beautiful Monkey King again."

Hiss...

Zhang Jinlai sucked in a breath of cold air.

This matter, he also knew about it.

Zhang Jinlai is still active in the film and television circle, often seen in supporting roles in various dramas, and he also frequently appears on Variety Show.

"Act, I'll act!"

"When do we start shooting? I can join the crew right away!"

Zhang Jinlai could no longer hide his inner excitement.

There's no way—anyone who heard this news couldn't stay calm.

Liu Qin tried not to laugh: "Teacher Zhang, the script is still being polished..."

Soon, the movie's script was finalized.

The movie is titled 《GodsWar: Reboot》 (GodsWar: Reboot).

At the same time, news also spread online.

Lin Mo, Cameron, and Steven Spielberg's collaborative film blends Eastern and Western mythological elements, such as Western gods and Eastern mythological figures.

Furthermore, rumors have it that Morning Light has confirmed inviting Jiao Njun to play Erlang Shen and Zhang Jinlai to play Sun Wukong.

Several topics directly topped the hot search; netizens' teasing instantly flooded the screen:

"Teacher Zhang: I not only want Huaguo audiences to see my monkey act, but also want Hollywood to see what a true Beautiful Monkey King is!"

"Now it's truly a China-US double bloom!"

"Teacher Liu: I've played Sun Wukong my whole life; finally I've got a chance to make it in Hollywood!"

"Cameron: I heard Huaguo has an actor who's especially good at playing Sun Wukong? Lin Mo: Yes, that's the one, over 60 and still able to do somersaults!"

Likewise, Jiao Njun's fans, upon hearing this news, were so excited they couldn't contain themselves.

"After waiting so many years, finally we get to see Uncle Jiao play Erlang Shen again!"

"Jiao Njun: I've been out of the entertainment circle for so many years; Director Lin's one call pulled me back!"

"Youth returns!!"

"Ahhhh, the most handsome Erlang Shen in history has appeared!"

"Awesome!!!"

As for the other actors...

Let's just say that.

Domestic big-name stars all want to act in Lin Mo's new film.

By the way, yesterday Chao Ge even brought Sun Li over to hang out at his place.

Of course.

Playing is secondary; the main goal is to ask for a role.

Chao Ge said, if there really isn't a suitable role for them as a couple, just a cameo, a walk-on part would do.

Lin Mo laughed and said: "Chao Ge, you and Li Jie, you two are such big-name actors—where could we let you just do a cameo? Rest assured, we'll definitely give you both roles!"

This film's investment starts at at least ten billion USD, a super‑super‑big‑scale movie.

Just the shooting time alone probably needs at least two and a half years.

There are too many roles; we can just assign them casually.

Likewise.

Over on Re Ba's side, her close girlfriends are also all coming to her asking for roles.

Including Yang Mi, she also personally came to look for Lin Mo.

And Lin Mo, upon hearing that Yang Mi also wanted to join, couldn't help but laugh and say: "Boss Yang, aren't you retired from acting?"

"That also depends on whose film it is—your new film this time, I must get a role no matter what; if I don't, I'll regret it for life!"

That's right.

Other actors think the same way.
