Chapter 648: Nuan Nuan's Children's Play, Snow White!

~7 min read 1,226 words

Lin Mo dropped Nuan Nuan off at school and then went straight to the company.

Although he rarely appears in public these days, he has never truly let go of company affairs.

Morning Light has grown rapidly in recent years, with more and more contracted directors, writers, and actors under its banner; Liu Qin often struggles to decide on many matters, and some major decisions still require Lin Mo's approval.

Just as he entered the office, Liu Qin knocked and came in, holding a stack of documents.

"Boss, this is last quarter's financial report, plus evaluations for a few new projects." Liu Qin placed the documents on the desk and smiled, saying, "If you don't come soon, I'll end up camping outside your house."

Lin Mo flipped through it casually and asked, "Any problems?"

"No major issues, just a few big projects that need your go-ahead." Liu Qin said, "Warner wants to collaborate on a sci-fi film with a 500 million yuan investment budget; the script has already been sent over. Also, Tencent Video wants to commission an S+ level historical drama, specifically requesting our A‑level production team."

Lin Mo nodded and asked, "How's the script quality?"

"The sci‑fi script is just average, but the historical drama's script is pretty good."

"Then let's take the historical drama first and hold off on the sci‑fi film." Lin Mo closed the file, adding, "You handle the other matters; you don't need to ask me about everything."

Liu Qin let out a breath of relief and smiled, "Alright, with that I can relax."

"Over here."

Liu Qin had barely left when his office door was pushed open again, and Song Wanwan stormed in, waving a folder.

"Brother! Quick, look at my script!" She plopped down opposite Lin Mo, saying, "I've been working on it for over a month, and I finally finished!"

Lin Mo raised an eyebrow: "You wrote it yourself?"

"Of course!" Song Wanwan lifted her chin proudly, "This time I didn't ask you for help—I even came up with the outline on my own!"

Lin Mo took the script, opened the first page, and quickly skimmed the plot.

The story follows a girl who grew up in an orphanage, who accidentally discovers she can see fragments of the future and gets drawn into a conspiracy about time and fate.

The overall setting is fresh, the emotional line is delicate, and although some details still need polishing, it's already far stronger than most similar scripts on the market.

"How is it?" Song Wanwan stared at him nervously.

Lin Mo closed the script and said indifferently, "It's okay."

"Just… just okay?" Song Wanwan widened her eyes, "No other comments?"

"The story structure is fine, but the third‑act twist feels a bit stiff and the villain's motivation isn't clear enough." Lin Mo said, "Revise it and it'll be shootable."

Song Wanwan first felt a bit disappointed, but quickly perked up: "So you mean you think it can be filmed?"

"Hmm." Lin Mo nodded, "It's stronger than what you wrote last time."

Song Wanwan's face lit up instantly as she snatched the script back: "I knew I could do it! This time I'll prove I can make a good movie without relying on you!"

Lin Mo watched her excited expression, the corners of his mouth turning up slightly, and asked, "When are you planning to start shooting?"

"Next month!" Song Wanwan declared confidently, "I've already lined up the lead actors; I'm just waiting for the funding to come through."

"If you need investment, let me know."

"No need!" Song Wanwan waved her hand, "This time I want to raise the investment myself, otherwise netizens will again say I'm relying on you."

Lin Mo chuckled lightly, "Suit yourself."

This girl attends events, but I don't know how many capital contacts she has.

Earlier, Song Wanwan said that many companies wanted to hire her to film.

Song Wanwan stood up, full of fighting spirit, and said, "I'll head out first—I still need to revise the script."

Having said that, she dashed out of the office like a gust of wind.

Lin Mo shook his head, glanced at the time—it was almost noon, Nuan Nuan's children's play starts this afternoon, so he needs to go pick up Re Ba and go to school together.

At two in the afternoon, the auditorium of Mo Du International Elementary School was filled with parents.

Lin Mo and Re Ba sat in the front row; Re Ba held up her phone, adjusted the focus, and prepared to record their daughter's performance throughout.

On stage, the red curtain slowly opened, revealing a fairy‑tale‑style forest castle backdrop; the children, dressed in exquisite costumes, were ready to begin performing *Snow White*.

Nuan Nuan played Snow White, wearing a light‑blue puffy dress, a red bow hairband on her head, her little face clean and fair, with a touch of pale pink lipstick on her lips—she looked utterly adorable.

"Mom! Dad!" Nuan Nuan shouted from the stage, instantly spotting her parents in the front row and waving her little hand excitedly at them.

Re Ba laughed and gave her a cheering gesture, while Lin Mo gave a slight nod, his eyes full of encouragement.

The music started, and Nuan Nuan immediately got into character, lifting her skirt and tripping to the center of the stage with tiny steps, her clear voice reciting the line: "I am Snow White, I live in this beautiful castle……"

Her performance was immature but exceptionally earnest; she strove to make every movement as good as possible.

Re Ba kept pressing the shutter on her phone, the smile on her lips never fading.

"Our Nuan Nuan did a great job!" Re Ba whispered to Lin Mo.

Lin Mo looked at his daughter on stage, a soft smile in his eyes, and said, "Hmm, just like you."

Re Ba lightly tapped him and said, "Clearly she takes after you more—her earnestness is exactly the same."

On stage, Nuan Nuan interacted with the dwarfs, squatting down to pretend to hand out apples; her movements were clumsy yet cute, prompting the parents in the audience to break into affectionate smiles.

After the performance ended, the hall erupted in warm applause; Nuan Nuan stood center stage, her cheeks flushed, and she bowed happily.

In the car heading home, Nuan Nuan sat in the rear‑seat safety seat, her little face still flushed with excitement.

"Dad! Mom! How did I do?" she asked eagerly.

Re Ba turned to look at her, smiling, "Exceptionally well! I took lots of photos; I'll send them to your grandparents later."

"Really?" Nuan Nuan's eyes sparkled, "So do I look like the real Snow White?"

Lin Mo glanced at her through the rearview mirror and smiled, "You're even prettier than Snow White."

Nuan Nuan instantly burst into joy, waving her arms and legs, "Then I want to perform again next time!"

Re Ba laughed and pinched her cheek, "Sure, how about you play Cinderella next time?"

"Okay!" Nuan Nuan nodded vigorously, then tilted her head, recalling something, and asked, "Dad, did you also perform in fairy‑tale plays when you were little?"

Lin Mo paused briefly, then chuckled lightly, "No."

"Why?"

Because Dad wasn't as good as you when he was little.

Nuan Nuan proudly lifted her chin: "I'm better than Dad!"

Re Ba couldn't help laughing: "Yes, you're the best!"
