Chapter 7: I Can

~5 min read 984 words

Hengdian Yingshi Cheng.

It is praised as "the Eastern Hollywood".

It is the largest film‑shooting base in China and even the world.

Just now, I heard Re Ba say.

Right now, there are more than 20 crews filming throughout Hengdian.

Good fellow!

Over 20 crews...

"That's nothing; I heard that at its peak Hengdian had more than 50 crews filming simultaneously!"

Seeing Lin Mo's surprised expression, Re Ba continued.

Next.

She grabbed Lin Mo's wrist and weaved through the bustling crews.

"Mo Ge, you know? Once I was rushing a shoot and didn't close my eyes for two days straight; after work I ran straight to Snack Street and wolfed down two huge bowls of beef noodles, almost scaring the Boss!" Re Ba held Lin Mo's hand, said this, and couldn't help laughing.

Re Ba turned into a tour guide, constantly introducing each filming location to Lin Mo: "Over here is the Qin King Palace—doesn't it look grand? Over there is the Ming‑Qing Imperial Garden; the details are ultra‑exquisite..."

"Mo Ge, imagine if we could make a movie of our own, how great that would be!"

"Then you'll be the director, and I'll play the female lead!"

Re Ba suddenly stopped, looked up into Lin Mo's eyes.

"That day will come!"

Lin Mo said confidently.

Moreover, that day is not far off.

Just kidding.

He is standing on the shoulders of giants.

Who knows how many classic screenplays are in his mind.

Although he crossed into this Parallel World without a system or Golden Finger, his mind is unusually clear.

The movies and dramas he watched in his previous life seem sealed by a mysterious force in his memory, ready to be summoned at any time.

As night fell, the lights of Hengdian Yingshi Cheng gradually lit up, adorning the dreamlike city with even more dazzling brilliance.

Lin Mo and Re Ba chose a restaurant on the edge of the film city with a fairly good reputation.

Here.

Re Ba had been here once before.

On the way, she heard that girl raving nonstop about the restaurant's taste.

The restaurant is good.

It has that kind of atmosphere.

Several murals depicting ancient court life hang on the wall.

"Mo Ge, what do you think of this restaurant? The ambience is decent, right?" Re Ba asked Lin Mo while flipping through the menu.

"Hmm, very distinctive!" Lin Mo smiled and nodded.

The waiter timely suggested a few signature dishes; Re Ba promptly ordered several of her favorites and then turned to ask Lin Mo: "Mo Ge, is there anything you especially want to eat? Or anything you avoid?"

"Anything's fine; whatever you order will be delicious," Lin Mo replied with a smile.

Soon, dish after dish, full of color, aroma, and flavor, arrived at the table.

"Mo Ge, try this fish; it's especially fresh," Re Ba picked up a piece of fish and gently placed it in Lin Mo's bowl.

"You eat more too."

The two ate and chatted, the topic shifting from daytime filming anecdotes to future aspirations.

"Re Ba, you have great talent in acting; I believe you can become the most dazzling female lead," Lin Mo said earnestly, looking at Re Ba.

"Hehe, that also requires a good director like Mo Ge," Re Ba playfully winked at Lin Mo.

After finishing the meal, the two walked out of the restaurant; the night breeze brushed their faces, bringing a hint of coolness.

They walked side by side on the way back to the hotel.

"Mo Ge, today was truly wonderful; thank you for spending such a beautiful day with me," Re Ba said softly.

Today was the happiest day since she joined the crew.

Because the person she likes most was by her side.

At the hotel room door, Re Ba seemed reluctant to part.

Lin Mo smiled, pinched her cheek, and said, "Good night, see you tomorrow!" then headed back to his own room.

A soft voice came from behind, "Mo Ge!"

Lin Mo involuntarily turned his head, only to see Re Ba stepping lightly forward, pressing close to his chest and hugging him.

At that moment, time seemed to stand still.

A few seconds later, Re Ba slowly released the embrace, a satisfied and shy smile on her face: "Good night, Mo Ge!"

Lin Mo hadn't reacted yet; watching her run into the room, he laughed.

Back in the room, Re Ba's heartbeat was still rapid, and a warm trace lingered on her cheek.

She sat on the bedside, her hands unintentionally intertwined, feeling an overwhelming sweetness inside.

She closed her eyes, replaying every moment with Lin Mo in her mind; those scenes intoxicated her.

Lin Mo's days in Hengdian passed quickly, mainly because Re Ba was busy filming, and he didn't want to disturb her.

Teng Dao sent word that "Heartbreak 33 Days" had started filming in Yanjing, giving him a chance to check it out.

After all, he is a major investor in that film.

Speaking of Re Ba, as soon as she heard Lin Mo was going to leave, she felt empty inside.

These days, she was busy filming during the day, and at night she dragged Lin Mo around everywhere; the days were incredibly nourishing.

Even Bai Lu teased her, saying that whenever a good friend came, she became completely refreshed.

Upon hearing this, Re Ba not only wasn't annoyed, she felt delighted inside.

"Mo Ge, remember to think of me!"

"Think of me during the day, think of me at night, even in your dreams you must think of me!"

Re Ba said coquettishly.

Lin Mo was amused by her clinginess, reached out and ruffled her hair: "Okay, okay, even when I go to the bathroom I'll keep you in my pocket and think of you!"

"Eh, you're really disgusting!"

Re Ba pretended to be disgusted, but both couldn't help laughing, the atmosphere warm and joyful.
