Chapter 721

Walking halfway there, Gu Jiayan said to Xiao Ma, "When we see Wang Wang Qiqi in a moment, if she asks you who Lu Qiao is, how will you answer?"

Xiao Ma admires Lu Qiao very much.

If he had even half of Lu Qiao's ability, he wouldn't be walking on eggshells every day.

He said quite honestly, "Although Xiao Lu is a newcomer, she was officially hired into our Fifth Division. There's nothing that can't be said; if she asks, I'll just tell the truth."

"Then what if Wang Wang Qiqi goes to make trouble for Lu Qiao?"

"Why would she go to make trouble for Lu Qiao?" Xiao Ma asked, puzzled.

"Because Lu Qiao made her look bad today and even criticized her."

Xiao Ma thought for a moment and said, "But I think Lu Qiao was right. And if she were wrong, given Wang Wang Qiqi's personality, she would have exploded on the spot. Could she really have held it in until now?"

Then Xiao Ma asked in return, "So why can't Lu Qiao just be Lu Qiao?"

Lu Qiao isn't someone who can't be seen in public, so why hide it?

Besides, we're all in the same unit; a newcomer came to the Fifth Division today, and anyone who asks will know who it is.

As far as he knows, quite a few people already know that a newcomer has arrived in their Fifth Division.

Gu Jiayan glanced at Xiao Ma.

For some reason, anyone who has contact with Lu Qiao and bears her no malice seems to have a particularly good impression of her.

So Gu Jiayan sneered and said, "Then I don't care; say whatever you want."

At this very moment, the Fifth Division was preparing to get off work, but Director Lu, who had been running around all day, called Section Chief Wei and Deputy Section Chief Zhou into his office.

He first said to the two of them, "Lu Qiao's application has been approved by the higher-ups, and they are now contacting the relevant departments to retrieve the materials Lu Qiao needs."

Section Chief Wei and Deputy Section Chief Zhou looked at each other; this was within their expectations.

It seems there is someone above supporting Lu Qiao.

Director Lu frowned, sighed, and said to the two, "I called you two here today, not for the sake of this application report."

Section Chief Wei's heart sank; he had heard that rumor too.

But he didn't think it would be disbanded just like that.

The Fifth Division has been established for several years, and it has had its glorious moments. It's just that in the last two years, due to the compression of foreign trade business, there hasn't been much for them to do here.

This is the general direction, and it's not entirely the Fifth Division's fault.

Section Chief Wei hurriedly asked, "Director Lu, what is the matter?"

Director Lu did not answer immediately; he had only confirmed that the news was accurate today.

If there are no bigger surprises, the Fifth Division will be disbanded in a month, and the cadres of the Fifth Division will be diverted to the First, Second, and Third Divisions.

The Fourth Division will also be cancelled, and the comrades of the Fourth Division will likewise be diverted to other posts.

Then, the personnel who were seconded will have to return to their original units if they haven't made major contributions or if their performance hasn't been very outstanding.

Section Chief Wei and Deputy Section Chief Zhou will go to the First Division and Second Division respectively.

If they want to maintain their current rank, they can only go to the logistics department.

If they go to the general office, they will have to be demoted by half a rank.

The document will be issued soon.

So he needs to do some ideological work with these two in advance.

After all, these two are impeccable in their work and have always been conscientious and dedicated.

People always love to say that plans don't change as fast as reality; it seems that is indeed the truth.

When he transferred Lu Qiao to the General Administration, he wanted to take the Fifth Division's work to a higher level with Lu Qiao's addition.

It's just that he didn't expect this department to be disbanded just like that.

But he is not very worried about Lu Qiao.

As for this female comrade Lu Qiao, you don't need to worry no matter where you put her.

Director Lu said straightforwardly, "The leaders have already talked to me; the document will be issued in two days, and the Fourth and Fifth Divisions will be cancelled."

Hearing this, Section Chief Wei and Deputy Section Chief Zhou both widened their eyes in shock.

Thinking is one thing, doing is another.

They thought it would at least be next year, but they didn't expect the decision to be made now.

It's really going to be disbanded; Deputy Section Chief Zhou felt that her tears were about to fall.

Section Chief Wei's eyes also turned red.

Director Lu understood their feelings.

He hadn't been in the Fifth Division for long, but these two had been working here, and it was already their eighth year this year.

There must be feelings for something built from nothing.

Director Lu waved his hand and said, "I will talk about the arrangements for you two, and then you must adjust your state of mind as soon as possible, while also doing the work for the staff below..."

Section Chief Wei thought for a moment and asked Director Lu, "What about Lu Qiao?"

Director Lu said, "She is now an official employee of the General Administration, and she must obey arrangements no matter where she is. Besides, you are right; her main task now is still to study well."

Unexpectedly, Deputy Section Chief Zhou said, "I'm not worried about Xiao Lu; with her personality, she can do any job very well."

Then she added, "She won't be bullied anywhere."

Director Lu smiled, which diluted the slightly gloomy atmosphere a little.

So the three of them put away their lost and uncomfortable feelings and began to discuss the arrangements for the staff below.

At this time, because Wang Wang Qiqi went to the leader's office to deliver materials, she inadvertently learned that the Fourth and Fifth Divisions had been disbanded, so she felt a trace of sympathy when she saw Gu Jiayan coming.

However, she really stopped Gu Jiayan and asked, "Who is that new female comrade of yours? Is she a newcomer? Why do I feel like she's an old employee?"

Gu Jiayan glared at her, not wanting to answer her question. She took the collation report and prepared to go to the First Division leader's office.

She didn't expect to be stopped by Wang Wang Qiqi, who then reached out her hand: "Our leaders are very busy; give this report to me."

Gu Jiayan endured the anger in her heart and handed the collation report written by Lu Qiao to Wang Wang Qiqi.

Wang Wang Qiqi looked at the report with a scrutinizing gaze, and in the end, she had to admit that there was no problem.

But she still said to Gu Jiayan with schadenfreude: "That new female comrade of yours is really beautiful. When you two sit together, it's like a white swan and a black duck."

"Gu Jiayan, you have the nerve to sit next to her; you have no self-awareness at all. If I were you, I would definitely not sit with her and be compared."

Before the furious Gu Jiayan could retort, she immediately said again: "I'm saying this to prepare you mentally. It's better when I say it; if someone else said it, you, Gu Jiayan, wouldn't be able to take it either."

Gu Jiayan roared in anger: "Wang Wang Qiqi, don't go too far!"

Auntie Mu walked over hurriedly and pulled the two of them: "Are you two fighting cocks? You fight as soon as you meet. This is a unit; if the leaders see you, you will both be criticized, do you know that?"

Gu Jiayan looked at Wang Wang Qiqi angrily, trying to calm herself down. After a few breaths, she mocked: "Bullying the weak and fearing the strong, you only have the ability to deal with me; when you meet a tough nut, you're nothing either!"
