Chapter 320: Military Merit Ennoblement, Everyone Moved

"Ennoblement is a reward for those with outstanding meritorious service. What is outstanding meritorious service? Going to the battlefield to kill the enemy, opening up territory, punishing the treacherous and eliminating evil, protecting the territory and the people, managing one side... Anyone who makes a great contribution to the camp has the opportunity to be ennobled!"

And as personal merit continues to rise, the title can also continue to climb, from the lowest-level Xuan Ling to the highest-level quasi-earl.

Whether one can be ennobled depends on personal merit.

Because many merits are difficult to quantify, in most cases, whether an individual has the qualifications for ennoblement will be discussed by Secretary Xia Chuan and the six department heads, and finally decided by me.

However, there are also more direct, easily quantifiable standards, such as military merit.

I will focus on telling you about the standards for military merit ennoblement below!"

Everyone gained spirit upon hearing this and pricked up their ears to listen attentively.

"To be ennobled with the lowest-level Xuan Ling title, an individual's battlefield enemy-killing count must reach 500. Of course, it's not just any 500 people, but real enemy troops like the Longyou Army and Blood Guard Army.

Considering the different battlefield situations, 10 ordinary Earth-Digging Realm people can be counted as one real enemy troop, and cold-resistant level enemy generals can be counted as 100 enemy troops."

Wow...

Xia Hong's words instantly set off a huge uproar in the hall.

"Kill 500 enemies, and they all have to be soldiers like the Longyou Army and Blood Guard Army?"

"How is this possible? There were only 5000 enemy troops in the entire Longyou before. If calculated strictly, wouldn't at most 10 people be able to be ennobled as a ninth-rank Xuan Ling viscount?"

"Aren't there cold-resistant levels? 5 cold-resistant levels will also do, right?"

"That's easy to say. Think back carefully, the Longyou Great War from April to July, how many cold-resistant levels did our Does Does Da Xia kill?"

"This, it seems to be just the Secretary and the Secretary, and a few others."

"The conditions for this military merit ennoblement are too harsh."

"It's meant to be harsh, otherwise anyone could be ennobled casually, then what is the meaning of setting up this ninth-rank title system?"

Xia Hong interrupted everyone's discussion first, and then continued: "Starting from the ninth-rank Xuan Ling viscount, for every higher title, the requirement for the number of enemies killed will increase by one time. That is to say, Chi Xiao needs to kill 1000 enemies, Qing Ming needs to kill 2000 enemies, and up to the highest-level quasi-earl, the requirement for the number of enemies killed is 128,000 enemy troops..."

What an unfamiliar number, 120,000 enemy troops!

Can you find a camp in the Frozen Abyss that has such a large army?

Xia Hong didn't look at the crowd full of disbelief, but continued to open his mouth:

"This is pure military merit ennoblement. I just said that it's not just going to the battlefield to kill the enemy, opening up territory, punishing the treacherous and eliminating evil, protecting the territory and the people, managing one side... As long as you make enough contributions to the camp, you have the qualifications for ennoblement. However, I want to set a prerequisite: anyone who is ennobled must have military merit. If it is ennoblement due to other merits, then the military merit must be at least one-third of the battle merit required for the corresponding title."

This is very easy to understand. For example, your merit in managing the place is very great. It is not enough to just get the recognition of Xia Chuan and the six department heads. The military merit enemy-killing count must be at least 166 to truly have the qualifications to be ennobled as a ninth-rank Xuan Ling viscount.

Clearly, this was Xia Hong deliberately magnifying the importance of military merit.

After the crowd lowered their heads and pondered for a moment, they immediately understood.

"Below, let's talk about what you are most concerned about: what are the benefits of ennoblement!"

Hearing this, the crowd truly perked up their twelve points of spirit.

Since the difficulty of ennoblement was so high, the corresponding treatment would naturally not be bad.

It's just that they didn't know what it was specifically, so they all listened attentively.

"Ninth-rank Xuan Ling viscount, awarded one set of ninth-rank Does Does Da Xia Xuan Ling clothes, one set of imperial horizontal blade armor. The annual title salary is: 10,000 contribution points, 3 Yang Yuan Pills, 10 Blood Yuan Pills, 10 jin of high-level beast blood, 100 meters of silk, 1 jin of blood cold wine, 10 jin of aged wine, 20 jin of refined salt.

Besides this, one can be exempt from corvee labor for life, the Madam is ennobled with the title of ninth-rank viscountess, and can also be exempt from corvee labor for life. The offspring can be called young masters, can build a 200-square-meter residence in Xia City, and the family can be equipped with two attendants and five followers."

After Xia Hong finished speaking, the whole hall fell into a deathly silence.

Everyone's breathing couldn't help but grow heavier, especially after Mu Dong moved out the Does Does Da Xia Xuan Ling clothes, imperial horizontal blade, and imperial battle armor before their eyes, their eyes couldn't be moved away at all.

"This crimson Xuan Ling robe is made of bamboo silk dyed with Zhu Frost powder, woven purely by hand. The snow mane pattern on it is embroidered stitch by stitch with snow bamboo silk dyed with Jin Lin powder. Just the dyeing took half a month, and the overall production process used over a hundred clothing craftsmen, with a total time of one month. Everyone, take a look, not bad, right?"

Mu Dong held up the Xuan Ling robe like a treasure, fearing that everyone wouldn't see it clearly, and almost unfolded every detail.

"Then there is this horizontal blade and this set of battle armor. The horizontal blade is thousand-forged level and comes with a beast-suppressing attribute; this set of battle armor is very different from the Lei Kui golden armor worn by the Cloud Dragon Army soldiers. Everyone should be able to see it."

One could see it at a glance. The existing hundred-forged level Lei Kui golden armor in the camp all appeared light golden in appearance, while the set of battle armor Mu Dong took out appeared significantly brighter, almost approaching real gold.

"This is battle armor made by mixing more Lei Kui skull powder. Not only is the color better, but the defensive power is also 30% higher than ordinary hundred-forged Lei Kui armor. It's just a pity that its forging cycle is too long and consumes too many materials. It is not cost-effective to use it on soldiers on a large scale, so it is used as the imperial viscount battle armor."

After Mu Dong finished explaining, he remembered something and continued: "The meaning of imperial, everyone might not understand yet. Imperial means personally designated by the Lord, so once the owner of this set of horizontal blade battle armor is confirmed, the Craftsman Department will engrave the name on it, meaning it is the exclusive weapon and armor of the holder."

If the title salary gave real benefits, then the robes, weapons, and battle armor placed before everyone at this moment gave status, gave fame.

As long as one wears this robe, is equipped with this imperial horizontal blade, and puts on this imperial battle armor, in Xia City, who wouldn't recognize them?

Chasing fame and profit is human nature. Even if the nearly ninety people standing in the hall at this moment all had cold-resistant level cultivation, they couldn't escape this law.

Moreover, what Xia Hong said was only the treatment of the lowest-level Xuan Ling viscount!

The treatment for Chi Xiao, Qing Ming, Zi Dian... above would inevitably get better and better. Then, when it reached the highest-level quasi-earl, what kind of generous treatment would it be?

Thinking of this question, everyone's breathing grew heavier, and the desire in their eyes gradually rose to the extreme.

There was only one sentence in their minds:

Ennoblement, must be ennobled!

Xia Hong didn't go to disturb everyone. The significance behind ennoblement was great. Wanting to explain it thoroughly in such a short time was not realistic, so he could only let everyone think and realize it slowly by themselves.

As far as the current situation was concerned, that not-so-cheap title salary was enough to make these people crazy.

"That's all for the ennoblement matter for now. Next, it's time to start discussing merit and rewarding for the Longyou Great War from April to July..."

Xia Hong paused when he said this, signaling the attendant beside him to hand the stack of documents on the table to Xia Chuan. ===== CHAPTER 321 =====
