Chapter 1042

Yang Mi and Tong Liya were good friends, and upon learning that her husband Chen Sicheng was a philandering scumbag, she felt indignant and truly felt it was a pity for Ya Ya.

Lin Yu's act of despising *Detective Chinatown* tonight had, on the contrary, vented some frustration for Yang Mi.

"However, didn't you speak a bit too big?"

Yang Mi casually took off her black suit jacket.

She took a pair of pink slippers from Lin Yu's cabinet and said in a soft, milky voice.

Lin Yu naturally knew what Yang Mi was asking about.

"Isn't it just over four billion in box office?"

"It's no big deal."

Others might not know, but Lin Yu knew very clearly.

*Ne Zha* didn't get much attention in the previous parallel world.

But it relied on word-of-mouth and exquisite production to achieve a top-five result in the history of Chinese cinema, and the box office directly broke over 5 billion.

You have to know this was without any promotion, and the director was also an unknown newcomer.

It's hard to imagine how popular this film would have been if they had put effort into promotion at the time.

So Lin Yu's interview this time was to deliberately ignite the topic and make everyone pay attention to this movie.

This is very common in the film industry; usually, some incidents are created on the eve of a movie's release to create buzz for the box office.

Seeing Lin Yu's confident appearance, Yang Mi didn't say anything more and talked to Lin Yu about the rules for this box office split.

The box office of films in China is basically split in three directions.

The first direction is paying special business taxes and film special funds.

It accounts for about 10% of the total box office.

This must be paid after every movie is released.

The second direction for the split is the cinemas and theater chains, which usually get about 50% of the total box office.

The rest goes to the distributor and the producer.

With the help of the Film Bureau, the distributor was directly set as Huanyu Media Film and Television Company.

The producer is the Colorful Rainbow Animation Studio.

This was the first time Lin Yu had heard these rules.

He didn't expect the clauses inside to be quite complex.

He had a preliminary understanding of the ins and outs.

"I've already communicated this part for you."

"The scheduling for the theater chains will change based on the first day's box office."

"But Lin Yu, you also have to be prepared in advance; the scheduling and screenings for animated films won't be many."

Yang Mi gave Lin Yu a heads-up; after all, this subject matter leans towards a younger audience.

Theater chains will also consider the target audience, so the number of screenings naturally won't be high.

"Ok."

Lin Yu smiled and said confidently.

Theater chains are nothing but fence-sitters!

As long as his box office is high, there's no need to say more; every cinema will increase the screenings. They aren't stupid; who would turn away money that's within reach!

"Is this your promotional video?"

Yang Mi walked up to Lin Yu's desk and leaned over to look at the computer screen.

But she didn't expect to be pulled down by Lin Yu.

She sat squarely on Lin Yu's lap.

"Uh."

"It's not very good to be here!"

Yang Mi said shyly, pushing him away, looking nervously at the office area outside the blinds.

"It's exciting when there are many eyes on us!"

Ignoring the resistance of Da Mi Mi in his arms, Lin Yu forced his way through. ===== CHAPTER 1043 =====
