Chapter 335: You Want to Become an Immortal?
In the evening, Chen Fan and Old Liu set up a huge fire basin here and roasted things to eat; snowy days were one of the rare times when there were relatively few assignments.
But when there really was an assignment, it tended to be more troublesome.
Chen Fan munched on a potato and said, "The flavor really is pretty great."
Li Tian said, "Chen Fan, I think there's something wrong with you. How did you calculate out that axe? I asked a physicist, and they said it simply doesn't exist."
"Actually, Li Tian, let me tell you—I can predict the future."
Li Tian laughed uproariously and said, "You're talking nonsense. If you can predict the future, then predict the lottery numbers for me."
"Sorry, that's not probability, that's statistics, alright?"
"Then go ahead and predict something, let me see."
Chen Fan ate his potato, tossed the peel aside casually, and said, "In ten seconds, you'll pull down Xu Xintong's pants."
"Hahaha, pure nonsense—Xu Xintong didn't even come."
As soon as he finished speaking, Li Tian stood up, took a step forward, stepped on the potato peel on the ground, and lost his footing. Xu Xintong moved to support him, and Li Tian crashed straight to the ground.
Xu Xintong looked at her own pants and was instantly speechless. Holy crap, holy crap.
What the heck, how is that even possible.
Chen Fan kept munching his potato and said, "See, kid, you just don't listen to me. You should've believed me long ago."
"Believe my ass. Damn it, what's going on with you? You must know some trick—no, you know how to summon spirits, this is sorcery, sorcery!"
Hahahaha.
Everyone laughed along. Chen Fan said, "Just a joke, simple calculation, that's all. Look at you."
Li Tian didn't get up, sat on the ground, and calculated aloud, "I'm saying hypothetically, hypothetically, Chen Fan—if you wanted to kill a person, what would the cost be?"
"A pen. Believe it or not?"
Perhaps no one used to believe what Chen Fan said, but now Li Tian believed him completely. There was an indescribable feeling—something was off about this guy Chen Fan.
This person was way too uncanny. The things Chen Fan had shown before still had traces to follow, but the abilities he was displaying now left no trail at all.
This was basically something out of science fiction.
Old Liu said, "Alright, cut it out. Eat and then get some rest. In winter, don't stay up late—it gets really cold at night."
Everyone nodded.
Chen Fan here just ran straight back to rest.
A few of the newcomers said they still wanted to roast things and eat.
Old Liu chuckled and said nothing more. Li Tian here also caught on and ran off right away.
Went home to rest.
Qin Ming coughed and said, "Winter, snow—this is when the most car accidents happen. If you don't rest and take assignments at night, you'll work yourselves to death."
Holy crap.
Where did the newcomers still have the mind to eat? They hurried back to sleep.
Even if they couldn't sleep, they forced themselves to. If they had to take assignments tonight, they'd probably freeze to death.
The cameraman shut off the livestream. Sister Yuanyuan asked, "The thing Li Tian mentioned—is that forensic medicine?"
Qin Ming said, "We're forensic doctors, not sorcerers. The way you put it, it sounds like we know some kind of trick."
"Isn't it, though?"
Qin Ming was speechless. "No. Only Chen Fan is special. The rest of us are far behind."
Teacher He asked, "How is that child doing?"
The child?
Qin Ming said helplessly, "You don't understand, right? Why was Old Liu so brutal? Actually, it was all for the child's sake. Only this way can the child step up. In the village, with no father at home, life is really hard. The child has to toughen up, so that when he goes to work later, his mother won't get bullied."
"There are good people too, aren't there?"
Good people?
Qin Ming said, "It's not that I see the world from a different angle, but the thing is—if someone harbors malice, it actually spreads. But goodwill, once produced, doesn't spread."
A little over an hour later, someone arrived and found Old Liu—a case had occurred.
The car accident scene was pretty serious. The police and traffic police had all gone, and the forensic team had to go too.
Old Liu heard it was serious and went along. The group threw on their coats and headed out.
When everyone arrived at the scene and saw the chaotic crowd, they got a fright too.
"Step back first, don't come over yet. We'll make sure it's safe, then you can come."
Chen Fan and the others climbed straight into the car and waited quietly.
Qu Yiling said, "I only slept half an hour."
Xu Xintong chuckled and said, "I didn't sleep at all."
Chen Fan looked out the window and said, "What do you think—is this accident scene weird?"
Weird?
Xu Xintong said, "On a snowy day, how weird could it be?"
Chen Fan said, "Mm, how should I put it—I just feel it's a bit off. Let's take a look first."
At the scene, once the traffic police and firefighters had handled things, Chen Fan's side went over.
Old Song directed a few of the newcomers to start tending to the injured.
Chen Fan looked at the bodies laid out by the roadside and fell into thought.
There were puncture wounds, glass wounds, and so on.
"Just this?"
Old Song said, "This is the most intact one. There are less intact ones too—go take a look."
Chen Fan stepped into the car, looked at the half-body, and felt speechless.
"Where is the other half?"
Old Song pointed at the car and said, "It got shoved inside. What do you think?"
Damn it.
Several police officers here couldn't hold back and started vomiting.
Chen Fan looked at the wound that cut straight through from the chest position and said, "What was this truck carrying?"
"A steel plate truck. The big truck ahead skidded, then the one behind crashed into it. The cargo fell out and sliced the person to death. Damn, it's more terrifying than Final Destination."
Chen Fan was speechless, but he still unbuckled his seatbelt.
The cameraman here turned on the camera.
As soon as the audience logged in, they saw Chen Fan carrying a half-body person to the roadside, tossing it on the ground, and going to find the other half.
