Chapter 59

Originally, he wanted to know the creator of this song and then obtain the copyright for the performance on the Spring Festival Gala, but Chen Mo had actually forgotten.

After thinking it over...

Director Lang Kun decided to use this song anyway!

After all, it's the Spring Festival Gala; whoever's song it is, as long as it's on the Spring Festival Gala, the other party would definitely be burning incense and praying, feeling happy.

Having made the decision, Director Lang Kun turned his head and began to communicate with Chen Fu, who was beside him.

"Mr. Chen, Momo will sing this song on the Spring Festival Gala later; during this time, Momo needs to come over every day for rehearsal practice, these are no problem, right?"

"No problem."

Chen Fu said directly.

Seeing that Chen Fu had agreed, Director Lang Kun immediately arranged for staff members to take Chen Mo's family to a dedicated rehearsal room.

Soon, a day passed.

The news that Chen Mo was going to participate in the Spring Festival Gala spread out.

First, Chen Mo's grandparents were the first to know, then it was Yang Mi and Liu Fei, and then it was Mei Yanfang and others.

Upon learning that Chen Mo was going to be on the Spring Festival Gala, Yang Mi and Liu Fei were both admiring and disappointed, because if Chen Mo was going to be on the Spring Festival Gala, they couldn't play together during this time.

Just like that, time passed day by day.

Chen Mo was driven by Chen Fu to the Spring Festival Gala rehearsal site every morning, and he returned only at night after rehearsing every day.

And on the other side, in Xiangjiang, the Spring Festival slot battle was still continuing.

*All for the Winner*, starring Andy Lau and Stephen Chow, and *Once a Thief*, starring Zhang Guorong and Brother Fa, were fighting intensely, with the two box offices back and forth in surpassing each other.

February 7th.

*Operation Condor*, starring Brother Long, joined the battle!

As an Asian action superstar who had already made a name for himself in Southeast Asia, on the day of the premiere, he directly and forcefully suppressed the two films *All for the Winner* and *Once a Thief* with a box office of 2.4 million.

And on the second day, February 8th, *Shaolin Popey: Invincible Star*, starring Chen Mo, was released.

Regarding this film, although Mei Yanfang had personally taken the field to promote it for her apprentice, everyone didn't have high hopes for the box office.

After all, a low-budget production had joined the movies of three major giants; the result was definitely something one didn't even need to think about.

However, on the day of release, the box office made everyone feel surprised.

On that day, the box office for Chen Mo's *Shaolin Popey* reached 2.05 million, while the box office for Brother Long, Brother Fa, and the others were 2.8 million, 1.95 million, and 2.3 million respectively!

*Shaolin Popey*'s box office occupied third place!

February 9th, *Shaolin Popey*'s box office reached 2.2 million, still in third place.

February 10th, *Shaolin Popey*'s box office reached 2.3 million, still in third place!

And in fourth place was Brother Fa and Zhang Guorong's *Once a Thief*!

As for Brother Long's *Operation Condor* and Zhou Xingxing's *All for the Winner*, they were 2.8 million and 2.59 million in box office respectively.

Now the situation was already very clear; although Brother Fa and Zhang Guorong's film had achieved a good box office, it still couldn't change the fact that it was the first film to fall in this battle of the Spring Festival slot.

Soon, the time arrived at February 15th.

The Lunar New Year arrived.

At 8:00 PM, at this moment, there were lights in every household in China, and the vast majority of people were sitting in front of black-and-white or color TVs watching this year's Spring Festival Gala.

At Yang Mi's home.

"Mom, why hasn't Momo come out yet?"

Yang Mi sat on a small stool, her eyes fixed on the TV screen as she asked.

"It should be soon."

Yang Mu said.

"Oh."

On the other side, at Liu Fei's home.

Because it was the New Year, Liu Fu had specifically returned from his hometown to accompany Liu Mu and Liu Fei to spend the New Year together.

However, because of the conflict between Liu Fu and Liu Mu, the atmosphere in the home was somewhat dull.

But Liu Fei, who was only five years old, didn't realize this; at this moment, she was sitting in front of the TV waiting for Chen Mo's appearance.

Time passed second by second.

Many classic works appeared.

Among them, Dandan's *Hand in Hand* and Uncle Benshan's *Little Jiu Lao Le* sketches made all the audience watching the Spring Festival Gala laugh out loud.

Subsequently, Chen Pei and Zhu Shi's *The Thief and the Police* made the audience laugh until they were doubled over.

And after this sketch ended, host Zhao Zhong went on stage, and after saying a few simple words, he began the next program.

Subsequently, a small figure appeared on the stage.

Seeing that figure, Yang Mi and Liu Fei's eyes lit up, and they jumped up one after another, pointing at the figure on the TV and shouting "Momo."

At the same time, the audience who were watching the program saw Chen Mo go on stage; some audience members who had seen the *Shaolin Popey: Wulong Yuan* disc immediately recognized Chen Mo.

And some people who hadn't seen the disc had their eyes light up!

What a handsome little child!

They saw that Chen Mo was wearing a custom-made black little suit, and because he was bald, he was wearing a wig, holding the ukulele that was just right for him in his arms.

At this moment, the accompaniment sounded...

Two girls wearing white dance skirts and elegant postures walked to Chen Mo's sides and began to dance gracefully.

And Chen Mo was holding the ukulele, plucking the strings while singing.

The black sky hangs low

The bright stars follow

Bugs fly, bugs fly

Who are you missing?

Chen Mo's singing voice passed through the TV set and reached the homes of every household in China. ===== CHAPTER 61 =====
