Chapter 380

~8 min read 1,472 words

How could anyone have the nerve to talk about something like this here?

Of course, Widow doesn't mind wearing this pair of stockings with a garter belt for Xu Can to see—in fact, she's a little pleased about it.

In the film, a Russian-speaking agent is interrogating Agent Natasha Romanoff,

when the old man leading the interrogation's phone rings—it's an unfamiliar voice, telling him to hand the phone to Natasha.

This twist catches the audience off guard; the voice is clearly Agent Coulson—how on earth does S. H. I. E. L. D. have such reach?

The next twist is even more astonishing!

"Why are you calling me now? I'm in the middle of interrogating them! These idiots have nearly spilled all the intel."

The Russians on the spot are dumbfounded—who's interrogating whom here?

"It's an emergency. Barton has defected."

"Give me thirty seconds."

Right after that, Natasha unleashes her unstoppable mode, using flashy, deft acrobatic moves to take down the burly men around her in a flash.

This action sequence is sharp and dazzling, thrilling to watch, and at the same time brimming with sensual, graceful beauty!

Stone and Tay-Tay watch, dumbstruck, suddenly a little afraid to provoke Widow.

What if they made Widow angry and she handled them like that?

When the brilliant scene ended, some eager audience members timed it—exactly thirty seconds, not a second off!

Widow receives her mission: in this critical situation, she needs to gather those candidates.

The Chouzhelian Alliance—it's time to launch!

Agent Natasha's first target is a small village somewhere in South America.

After some maneuvering, a middle-aged man in a suit—looking a little down on his luck but refined and courteous—meets Natasha.

"Are you here to kill me, Miss Romanoff? Things could get a little out of hand."

"No, no—I'm only here on behalf of S. H. I. E. L. D. to invite you, Dr. Banner."

Since Xu Can didn't film "The Incredible Hulk," he designed the dialogue between the two to reveal a great deal of information about the Hulk.

Including that Bruce Banner is a physics genius who researched gamma rays, and that an accident caused him to mutate into the Hulk—a creature with devastating destructive power, a body nearly impossible to kill, and a hair-trigger temper.

And through video clips on a tablet, he briefly introduced the destruction the Hulk had caused in New York, as well as the reason he had fled to South America.

This way, whether or not the audience knew the Hulk, they could get a direct impression of the character.

"Don't lie to me!" Mid-conversation, Dr. Banner suddenly flares up in anger, and Natasha instinctively draws her gun on him.

Widow's portrayal of that terror toward the Hulk and the taut, nerves-on-edge expression in the face of danger is remarkably vivid, indirectly highlighting just how dangerous Dr. Banner is.

A ring of S. H. I. E. L. D. agents lurks nearby on guard, everyone braced for the worst.

Fortunately, Dr. Banner agrees to go to S. H. I. E. L. D. in the capacity of a consultant.

First hero, secured.

"The Avengers 1" still borrows quite a bit from the Hollywood assembly-line creative model.

A world-ending crisis appears; a person or organization goes around seeking companions to join in saving the world;

each companion gets an introduction, the team has some internal conflicts early on, and after a few disasters the team pulls back together,

and in the end everyone unites and defeats the Zhanshengfan Sect, and all live happily ever after.

Many films can be plugged into this assembly-line template.

The difference is that, in Xu Can's Marvel movie world, these characters already have rich, well-rounded personalities; the live audience is looking forward to seeing each hero appear, and everyone watches with eager eyes, fully immersed in the story.

The second hero is none other than the soul of the team!

Steve Rogers, at the end of "Captain America: The Howling Commandos," comes from the Second World War era into the twenty-first century.

This new world is far too unfamiliar to him; he can't adapt to it just yet.

"Want me to reboot the world, sir?"

"No—want you to save the world."

Persuading Cap to join is naturally easy; he's a born soldier, following orders is second nature, and saving the world is his duty.

As for the other hero, that's a bit more trouble.

Tony Stark has built Stark Tower in the heart of New York City as the new headquarters.

"I thought the Chouzhelian Alliance wouldn't want me—because I'm arrogant, conceited, and not good at teamwork."

Tony Stark complains with his mouth, but his actions are honest enough.

Taking Agent Coulson's file, he opens the holographic display and watches carefully, his expression gradually growing serious.

As the Chouzhelian Alliance assembles, on the other side Loki is arguing with a mysterious figure.

The mysterious figure treats Loki as a puppet to obtain the Space Stone, while Loki is full of ambition; the two are not of one mind, each harboring their own schemes.

On the helicarrier, Cap meets Natasha and Dr. Banner for the first time,

thinking it's just an ordinary helicarrier.

But when the four giant engines spin up and the helicarrier slowly lifts off, Cap is dumbfounded—and the audience in the theater is equally short-circuited.

A helicarrier this big, and it can fly?

Not only can it fly, it can also optically camouflage itself and go invisible!

Xu Can used flawless special effects to perfectly recreate this S. H. I. E. L. D. helicarrier!

Such a visual spectacle leaves the audience utterly awestruck!

There's also a little Easter egg here: when they first tried to persuade Cap, Cap said nothing in this world could surprise him.

Director Nick Fury replied: "I'll bet you ten bucks you're dead wrong."

Arriving at the command center, Cap obediently pulls out ten dollars—looks like that helicarrier takeoff really did rattle the old man. 【】

The audience members who catch the Easter egg can't help but share a knowing smile.

Even if you can't spot them, it doesn't matter — years later, countless recap videos will appear online,

analyzing Xu Can's Marvel Cinematic Universe Easter eggs frame by frame,

and audiences will be amazed to discover that some unnoticed little detail in a certain movie was actually a callback planted ten years in advance!

The entire cinematic universe is practically a real, living world!

Ten years later, search terms like "Xu Canmanwei detail hunter" will explode across the internet, sparking a massive Easter-egg-hunting competition.

This is a development even Xu Can himself could never have predicted.

Returning to *The Avengers 1*, all six of the original Avengers are present — except Hawkeye and Iron Man.

Loki happens to be causing trouble, plundering a rare element.

The evil god Loki, dressed in a sharp suit, descends the staircase, and quite a few fangirl viewers in the audience actually gasp.

But right after that, the evil god Loki reveals his true form and, as if facing mere ants, uses magic to take the hostages on site.

Compared to the original's simple illusion, Xu Can threw in special effects like money was no object — the evil god Loki uses illusion to summon hellishly terrifying scenes among the crowd, paralyzing everyone with fear.

Even the live audience turned deathly pale, terrified by the hellish scenes Loki conjured.

Taylor and Natasha couldn't help leaning toward Xu Can, while Stone, sitting on the other side, could only grab Taylor's arm.

Fortunately, the Avengers arrived in time — Captain America dropped from the sky and used a stylish shield strike to interrupt Loki's illusion.

Steve "five-tap" Rogers engages Loki in combat,

but the evil god Loki, relying on flashy magic, handles it with ease — illusions, mirror images, spatial manipulation…

Captain America quickly (Li Wang's) falls into a disadvantage.

Agent Natasha's fighter jet is also remotely disabled by Loki and is about to crash.

At the critical moment, here comes the man who brings his own BGM.

AC/DC's classic track "Shoot to Thrill" — its explosive rock melody jolts the audience back to life!

Iron Man flies in from the night sky wreathed in flames, his repulsors clashing with Loki.

Coordinating with Captain America's offense, two of the original big shots take on one, yet Loki is not the least bit outmatched!

But soon, Loki deliberately sells a flaw, gives up his advantage, and surrenders without a fight, leaving both Iron Man and Captain America utterly bewildered.

"Mr. Stark."

"Captain."

The first face-to-face exchange between the two big shots.

Loki stands to the side, smiling without a word.

That thrilling, exhilarating fight just now left the audience's hearts pounding — pity the battle came to an abrupt halt, everyone hadn't had their fill yet.

The film is only forty minutes in, yet the audience feels as if more than an hour has passed.

So much content, the dramatic and action scenes in perfect order, the rhythm taut yet relaxed!
