Chapter 40

It was no wonder Wang Jiawei had the thought of having Su Chen replace Hu Ge.

Wang Jiawei promised: "Just one word from you: do you want to act?"

"I will settle everything else."

Su Chen smiled faintly: "Director Wang, saying that, what did I come here for today?"

"Of course I want to act. I grew up watching Director Wang's dramas; my admiration for you is like the surging Yangtze River..."

Wang Jiawei almost dropped his sunglasses from laughing.

"You kid is a flatterer, case closed!"

Wang Jiawei shook hands with Su Chen.

"Then it's settled."

"I originally planned to use Hu Ge as the male lead, but suddenly felt you are more suitable than him."

"I will personally go tell Hu Ge about that side; afterwards, I will create a new drama for him."

"The role of Abao is yours!"

"We'll have a meal together later; before you leave, I will give you the complete script, so go home and study it carefully."

"Sign the contract, and once you receive my notice, you can join the crew."

After Su Chen and Yang Mi left.

A producer nearby raised an objection.

"Director Wang, using Su Chen... might not be very appropriate, right?"

"This kid indeed has a good image and strong acting skills."

"But he has no fame! Nor traffic or heat."

"Once we sign a contract with him, many production companies will withdraw their funding."

Capital chases profit.

Many investors were willing to throw money into this drama.

Besides Director Wang's reputation.

Many others came for Hu Ge.

Replacing Hu Ge with an unknown nobody.

What about the promised all-star cast?

In the end, the supporting roles were indeed all-star.

But the lead role became a nobody.

Isn't that purely a joke?

But Wang Jiawei is a very stubborn person.

He makes works.

Not for box office, nor for viewership ratings.

But to create the world in his heart.

Hu Ge indeed can carry viewership ratings.

Any drama with him is a hit.

But Hu Ge cannot act in movies.

This "Blossoms," to put it plainly, is just an extended movie,

Su Chen has a perfect movie face!

Perhaps with Su Chen as the male lead.

The viewership ratings would be far worse than Hu Ge's.

But Wang Jiawei cannot care about so much.

He only knows one thing.

Comparatively, Su Chen is more suitable as the male lead than Hu Ge.

That is enough!

Wang Jiawei has done this kind of thing many times.

Back then when filming "Ashes of Time," he dragged things out in every way.

To avoid losing money, the investors.

Had the main characters quickly film a comedy called "Days of Being Wild" midway through.

Instead, it sold out at the box office.

Making far more money than "Ashes of Time."

Yet Wang Jiawei simply did not care.

He only pursues the art in his heart!
