Chapter 5: Coming to the Door
"Am I talking nonsense, you know best in your heart! Just now your girlfriends didn't say you're going to work at the Logistics Department of the Cotton Spinning Factory right away, that job isn't the compensation the factory gave me after my parents sacrificed, right? You dare say you're not trying to steal my job!"
Su Jinjin's face flushed red from anger, especially when seeing, her girlfriends looking at herself, that strange gaze, her heart became even more panicked, but she couldn't refute Su Ruo's words.
Su Ruo, however, didn't let her go because of that, and continued saying: "My parents only have me as their daughter; after they sacrificed, they left all the money to me; I spend my own family's money, how does it become theft in your mouth?"
"Or is it that you, like Da Bo and his wife, are selfish and vicious, thinking I have no parents to protect me, no one to rely on, so you want to bully me however you like, and my family's money has become yours, seeing me spend money makes you jealous and angry."
Su Jinjin had always thought this way in her heart; after her second uncle and aunt passed away, in her heart the second uncle's family's money, house, and job should naturally belong to them.
As for Su Ruo, she didn't care about it at all.
But now there are so many people present, especially in front of her own girlfriends; even if she thought that in her heart, she couldn't say it out loud at this moment.
She could only feign grievance and say: "Sister, you've wronged me; I also saw that your second uncle and aunt are gone, afraid you'd waste money, so I reminded you."
Su Ruo looked at Su Jinjin mockingly and said: "Su Jinjin, look at the hairpin on your head, the snowflake cream on your face, your clothes, and your shoes; then look at me—if we're talking about wasting money, how could it possibly be me?"
Everyone sized up the two, glanced at Su Jinjin, then looked at the sallow, thin, ragged Su Ruo, and immediately felt Su Jinjin's excuse was far-fetched.
Su Jinjin had never been this embarrassed from childhood; moreover, it was because of her looked-down-upon cousin, making her even angrier inside, and she still wanted to say something.
Su Ruo had already forcefully shaken off her hand and walked straight out of the supply and marketing cooperative!
Su Jinjin still wanted to stop her, but she could see that the current Su Ruo was no longer the previous soft pushover, wouldn't let her bully her anymore, and immediately ran home crying to tattle.
Da Bo's mother was originally at work today; hearing her son was injured, she immediately rushed to the hospital; hearing the doctor say her son's vital part was kicked, possibly leaving a lasting problem, she already had a bellyful of anger.
Now, after hearing her little daughter's complaint, the anger in her heart could no longer be contained.
The two of them immediately stormed toward Su Ruo's house.
Su Ruo had just arrived home when the door was slammed with a thunderous bang.
"Su Ruo, you little slut, come out! You actually dare to bully your cousin—I see you've rebelled against heaven!"
Su Ruo hearing Da Bo's mother's words, wasn't surprised.
Da Bo's mother was already furious; now she felt like tearing Su Ruo's heart out.
Su Ruo went straight to the kitchen, took a kitchen knife, held it in one hand, and opened the door with the other.
Da Bo's mother was about to erupt, but upon seeing the knife in Su Ruo's hand, she was startled, then after reacting, her anger grew even more.
"You little slut, truly rebelling against heaven, daring to hold a knife—I see you don't want to live!"
Da Bo's mother reached out to snatch the kitchen knife from Su Ruo's hand; Su Ruo didn't dodge or avoid, waving the knife, she chopped straight at Da Bo's mother's hand.
Da Bo's mother didn't expect Su Ruo to really dare to chop her; she cried out in alarm and quickly pulled back her hand; the knife fell along her fingertip—it was a close call, just a little more and it would have chopped her hand.
After reacting, Da Bo's mother felt a surge of fear in her heart, terrifiedly looking at Su Ruo and saying: "Dead girl, are you crazy?"
"Yes, I'm crazy—I'm not just crazy, I also don't want to live; now I have no parents protecting me, everyone wants to bully me; I tell you all, from now on, if anyone dares to move against me even a little, I'll fight them to the death."
The so-called "the fierce fear the fearless"; Da Bo's mother is naturally a bully of the weak and fearful of the strong; at this moment, seeing the ruthless determination in Su Ruo's eyes and the knife in her hand, she was instantly frightened.
But her mouth still spoke harshly while being weak inside, saying: "Crazy, crazy, dead girl, you've grown some guts to dare act fierce against me! Just wait—I'll go back and not tell your Da Bo and your grandma, letting them come deal with you."
Then she turned and hurried away.
Su Ruo watched Da Bo's mother's fleeing back, the corner of her mouth curling into a mocking smile; in her previous life she hadn't been little bothered by this Da Bo's mother, but now it seemed she was nothing more than a paper tiger.
Su Ruo completely disregarded Da Bo's mother's threat, and slammed the door shut.
Da Bo's mother, not yet far away, heard this huge door slam, was instantly startled, and quickened her steps.
The surrounding neighbors were all frightened by Su Ruo's decisive act of grabbing a knife and chopping someone just now, and they all hurriedly shut their doors.
After returning home, Da Bo's mother still couldn't shake off her fear, and with lingering trepidation told Da Bo about this incident.
Although Da Bo was also surprised by Su Ruo's change, after pondering a moment he said: "Since she has already agreed to sign up for going to the countryside, for now you'd better not provoke her anymore; as for Lao Er's family's belongings, after she goes to the countryside, they won't all still be ours."
Da Bo, who works at the factory and is now a leader regardless of rank, also didn't want people to say his manners were ugly, so he stopped his wife and daughter, not allowing them to cause trouble anymore.
Da Bo's mother felt unwilling: "But she injured Da Bao, and you just let her off like that?"
Da Bo's eyes were sinister: "Of course not; after she goes to the countryside, we'll spread the word—by then she'll be a parentless orphan despised by her own family, and in the countryside who knows how many old men will set their sights on her."
The following words, Da Bo didn't say, but Da Bo's mother immediately understood her husband's meaning, and immediately snarled: "There are many old men in the countryside who can't find wives; we'll carefully select then and sell her for a good price as a dowry for our Jinjin. Dead girl, you actually dare to act fierce against me—I wonder if she'll still be so arrogant after she goes to the countryside."
Upon hearing that, Jinjin immediately leapt into Da Bo's mother's arms, saying: "Mom, I knew you were the best." She felt extremely pleased inside, secretly thinking that the wretched Su Ruo actually dared to push her today; when the time comes, she'll marry her off to an old man and beat her to death.
Seeing his wife and daughter's emotions had stabilized, Lao Da said: "Alright, in short, remember what I say—Lao Er's couple just had an incident, and who knows how many eyes are watching Su Ruo's place now."
"For now, don't provoke her anymore; everything will be discussed after she goes to the countryside and Jinjin smoothly takes over her job."
Da Bo's mother and the mother-daughter pair of Jinjin, upon hearing this, nodded in unison.
Meanwhile, the schemed-against Su Ruo was on her way to the Black Market; after today afternoon's incident, she thought that after going to the countryside she wouldn't know when she could return, so she decided to sell her house as soon as possible.
This time, whether it's the house or the belongings at home, they absolutely cannot be cheap for Da Bo's family anymore.
