Chapter 1481: Trace It! Dig to the Root!

It seems that, in the endless ages past, the God of Light had also suffered at the hands of this shadow.

However, due to Xi Hua's restraint, the God of Light was only severely wounded that time, not slain.

After sensing the threat, the God of Light changed his philosophy and actively suppressed the prosperity of the Heavenly Realm to avoid provoking the shadow.

According to Lin Yan's speculation, each time this shadow awakens, it should follow a mechanism like the Five-Star Ancient Gods—only when certain conditions are met, such as a powerful being challenging the Supreme, does it revive.

Otherwise, the shadow would remain asleep indefinitely.

After the God of Light suppressed the Heavenly Realm's prosperity, the Heavenly Realm remained for countless eons at the threshold of prosperity without ever triggering the shadow's mechanism.

"But last time, he awakened within the Dark Abyss."

Lin Yan thought again.

The last time this shadow awakened was when Lin Yan linked the Starry Sky with the Heavenly Realm, and the disturbance stirred it.

Yet the disturbance caused by linking the Starry Sky with the Heavenly Realm did not reach the level of the Supreme.

Does this mean the shadow's remaining power has greatly declined, altering its awakening mechanism?

These thoughts flashed through Lin Yan's mind.

One month passed quickly, and Lin Yan continued his time reversal, observing further.

So far, Lin Yan had spent thousands of years tracing this battle.

Of course, during those thousands of years, he did not do only this one thing.

This task consumed little time, since one month was only a few dozen minutes.

In this continuous time reversal, the Rule of Time was rapidly growing.

After Xi Hua broke through to the higher level, his battle with the shadow grew increasingly fierce.

Yet this battle eventually spilled beyond the region of Lin Yan's time reversal, causing him to lose their trail.

Another month passed, and Lin Yan ceased tracking Xi Hua's battle with the shadow.

Instead, he began reversing time further back.

So far, Lin Yan had learned of three eras in this world.

One was the era of the Heavenly Realm—the current Heavenly Realm, which could also be called Lin Yan's era.

The second was the era of the Ancient Gods, likely the weakest of the three.

The third was Xi Hua's era.

The era of the Heavenly Realm had already spanned time measured in hundreds of millions of years.

The era of the Ancient Gods lasted just as long.

Xi Hua's era was even more ancient, likely dating back tens of billions of years.
