Chapter 385: The Power of Legend! One Strike, Terrified Into Silence!

~4 min read 735 words

"The king has successfully persuaded the eight nations to launch a joint invasion. Three days ago, Nick sent word back—they've already clashed with the elves at the outer edges of the Loki Forest. Those elves aren't very strong; with our arrival, we'll be the first to seize the forests surrounding the Elf Empire!"

In the pass of the Loki Mountains, ahead of the army numbering over a hundred thousand, a general spoke.

"General, Lord Nick hasn't sent any word for these three days—could something have happened to him?"

At that moment, an aide beside him said.

"What could happen? Nick is a Sixth-Rank knight, immensely powerful. Unless the Elf Empire's own elves intervene, he won't be in danger. Don't worry—the Elf Empire won't react that quickly."

The general said.

"My lord, look ahead—something's happening!"

At that moment, a soldier pointed forward and shouted.

The general looked up—and his mouth dropped open into an "O."

For before him, several kilometers ahead, a towering white wall rose into the clouds, completely blocking the pass!

"What is this? A wall built by the elves?"

The general was stunned.

Soon, he rode his horse to the base of the ice wall; as he drew near, frost began forming on his armor, revealing just how frigid the air was.

Even when he tilted his neck back until it ached, he couldn't see the top of the ice wall.

This was a vertical ice wall over a kilometer high—impressive from afar, but terrifying up close.

The general gave a sharp cry and punched—his fist slammed into the ice wall.

"Crack!"

The ice wall's surface was coated with a thin layer of frost, which shattered under his blow.

But when his palm struck the wall's true surface, a magical rune flashed—and he felt as if he'd hit solid iron. A chilling force surged up, instantly encasing his fist in ice.

The cold penetrated deep into his palm, making him recoil in horror!

He immediately summoned his battle aura to expel the chill.

"I can't break this ice wall!"

The general's face darkened.

He never imagined that though the Loki Mountains had collapsed, such an ice wall would appear here!

The general looked around—and realized snow was falling across the entire Loki Mountains, and the ground was frozen solid everywhere.

Because beneath this stretch of the Loki Mountains, the ground had once been scorched by "Ice Flame." The Abyssal Demon Armored Beetles there were nearly all dead, burned to ash by the Ice Flame, which had frozen the subterranean layers into ice that would never melt, preventing further collapse.

Of course, with the Abyssal Demon Armored Beetles now extinct, the chance of another large-scale collapse was minimal.

"Who did this? Such a terrifying ice wall—even an Ice Grand Mage couldn't possibly have created it!"

The general muttered to himself.

"General, look up!"

Another subordinate shouted.

The general looked up—and saw an elf wearing a light veil slowly rising into the sky, to a height of a hundred meters.

That elf was, of course, Lomina!

"Grand Mage!"

Below, all the human soldiers stirred in panic.

"That's a Seventh-Rank elf! Quickly, use anti-magic arrows!"

The general shouted.

No sooner had he spoken than Lomina drew a bow and shot an arrow straight into the sky!

Though Lomina aimed at the sky, the general felt a dread rise in his chest.

On the ground, some humans had already drawn their anti-magic arrows and fired at Lomina.

But Lomina merely waved her hand—and all the arrows were deflected.

Immediately, countless black dots appeared in the sky.

"Raise your shields!"

The general screamed in terror.

Below, one hundred thousand soldiers raised their shields!

"Swoosh! Swoosh! Swoosh!"

From the sky, tens of thousands of arrows rained down in dense clusters.

Soldiers who hadn't raised their shields in time—even those clad in armor—were pierced through instantly!

Even those who raised their shields fared no better: the arrows punched straight through their shields, pinning them to the ground, motionless!

Lomina's strike killed over one-third of the human soldiers!

The wounded numbered in the countless!

"North of the Loki Mountains, no humans are welcome. Should any human dare enter again, they will all be executed!"

Lomina's cold voice rang out.

"General! General!"

An aide ran to the base of the ice wall—and found their general pierced through by several arrows.

"Leg… legend…"

The general whispered those three words, then slumped over, dead.
