Chapter 442: Rule Power! Comparable to a God!
"Fire of Destruction!"
Lin Yan's gaze swept across the system panel.
After this upgrade, Lin Yan advanced from Immortal Flame to Fire of Destruction.
Of course, he was still Immortal Flame—just not explicitly stated on the system panel, because it was unnecessary.
By now, Lin Yan could maintain a vast area and extremely high temperature in his Immortal Flame state.
After ascending to Fire of Destruction, Lin Yan's temperature reached a full two hundred thousand degrees.
If he unleashed a furious burn, his temperature would become even more terrifying.
If he further activated the furious burn with divine power, the temperature would surge many times over.
However, the greatest change was not in temperature.
But in several new entries on the system panel.
First, a new category appeared: Rules.
Flame Rule 100%, Space Rule 25%, Ice Rule 35%, Forging Rule 50%…
"Rule power—is this the power held by gods?"
Lin Yan murmured to himself.
Ninth Rank, Semi-Saint level, also known as Legendary level.
Upon reaching Tenth Rank Saint Domain, one begins to touch Rule power.
Yet the Rule power of Saint Domains is incomplete.
Saint Domains on the Continent of Gods typically spend decades to centuries refining the rules they have touched.
The longer ones may spend a thousand years, even several thousand or ten thousand years.
More likely…
They will never complete them!
Of course, rules can not only be self-realized, but also stolen.
Thus, if a celestial god descends a Saint Domain avatar carrying complete Rule power, veteran Saint Domains on the Continent of Gods may risk attacking to seize it.
Unless that god is extraordinarily powerful, such as a third-tier deity.
Once a Saint Domain fully masters a rule, they can use that rule as a foundation to construct a Divine Core.
That will be a long process.
The Divine Core, visually, is a magnificent pyramid; at its very peak lies the first rule the Saint Domain mastered—the most powerful rule.
Above it, new rules must be continuously woven in, though these new rules need not be mastered to 100%.
Generally, the more rules integrated into a Divine Core, and the higher the mastery of each rule, the stronger the god's Divine Core becomes.
A god typically possesses one primary rule.
Yet more rules allow one to better comprehend and understand the world.
Rules do not exist in isolation—they intertwine, each within the other, entangled, collectively constructing the hidden mechanisms behind this world's operation.
Master these secrets, and you master power!
In the celestial hierarchy, a god whose Divine Core is not fully constructed cannot be considered a true god.
Nor can a god whose Divine Core is complete but whose divine body remains unformed be considered a true god.
Only when the Divine Core is fully constructed and a divine body is possessed can one be called a true god—and even then, this is the weakest god!
Generally, before the Divine Core is fully constructed, one may remain on the Continent of Gods, secretly gathering faith.
Such a being, though touching the divine realm, is merely a pseudo-god.
Pseudo-gods usually hide deeply and never reveal themselves unless absolutely desperate, for Saint Domains covet their Divine Cores and the Rule power they hold.
Yes, they are stronger than Saint Domains.
But they are not stronger than all Saint Domains.
Some Saint Domains with immense perseverance, upon mastering a rule to 100%, choose not to construct a Divine Core.
Instead, they continue to comprehend a second rule, even a third.
If the base of the Divine Core pyramid is woven from two or more complete rules, the pyramid becomes more stable and can be built taller and larger—once becoming a true god, their power will become extraordinarily strong!
Foundation determines superstructure.
Such Saint Domains are also immensely powerful—otherwise, how could they dare to hunt gods?
As a flame, Lin Yan's own flame core rank cannot be simply mapped to the realms of the Continent of Gods.
It is also difficult to map.
Know this: even at the Immortal Flame realm, when unleashing his power, Lin Yan could easily burn a forbidden spell or a legendary being to ash.
And even then, Lin Yan could burn divine power!
He could even burn the consciousness of a god!
What kind of flame can burn divine power?
Thus, Lin Yan's every upgrade is hard to correlate with the realms of the Continent of Gods.
But one thing Lin Yan could be certain of was this:
After ascending to Fire of Destruction, he could now threaten a true god.
Not a pseudo-god whose Divine Core is incomplete.
But a true god!
Before ascending to Fire of Destruction, when Lin Yan faced a god's true body, the greatest problem was not divine power.
It was the god's Rule power.
Lin Yan could not be certain whether his flame could burn rules.
But now that Lin Yan has ascended to the Flame of Destruction, his Flame Rule has become 100%.
With rule against rule, Lin Yan's current flame can burn through even a god's use of rule power!
This is the true essence of the Flame of Destruction!
Destruction destroys everything—whether divine power or rule!
Of course, it goes without saying that burning rules requires an enormous amount of energy points—likely a astronomical number, and perhaps even without any return!
When encountering a complete rule, using energy points to ignite it may have little effect; only divine power can ignite it effectively!
But for Lin Yan,
As long as it can burn, nothing is a problem!
Lin Yan noticed that on the system panel, beneath the Rule entry, there were over a dozen rules.
What was displayed was only a small portion; the rest were hidden behind, and would appear with a mere thought-click.
