Chapter 965: The Overacting Purple Cloud Divine Lord! Annihilation of the Starfall Army!

"They're coming! Open the defense array!"

At this moment, within the imperial capital of the Starfall Empire, the defending troops were gripped by unprecedented tension.

The imperial capital of the Starfall Empire was vast in scale, densely populated, and surrounded by an exceptionally long wall.

The female giantess Hester led five battle formations, totaling fifty thousand troops, to attack a section of the front wall.

Fifty thousand troops lined up—this was no small force.

Behind that section of the wall, the defenders prepared for battle.

All magical defenses on the wall flared to life; the large-scale defense array was activated, and the remaining mages of the Starfall Empire had all concentrated at that section.

"You send so few troops to attack us?"

On the broad wall, a general sneered.

"Deploy the trebuchets—give them a little 'sweetness.'"

The general said.

Behind the wall, numerous trebuchets had already been wheeled into position.

But as the trebuchets were still loading, a massive fleet of flying warships suddenly descended from the sky, unleashing volleys of crossbow bolts that obliterated every single trebuchet.

"Damn it!"

The general was terrified—these arrows couldn't even be blocked by the defense array; if one hit him, he'd be finished.

Below the wall, the five battle formations charged forward at high speed.

"Fire arrows!"

From atop the wall, Wan Jianqi unleashed a storm of arrows!

But not a single soldier was brought down.

"Let us handle this!"

Countless mages unleashed their spells, including several Grand Archmages.

A sky-covering barrage of magic surged toward the advancing battle formations.

But the formations' defense arrays blocked every magical attack.

At that moment, the sky churned with wind and clouds, and then a terrifying forbidden spell descended from above, shaking the defense array of one battle formation to its core!

"Push harder!"

Encouraged by this, other mages unleashed their spells, and soon the defense array shattered.

"Now see how you defend!"

The general sneered.

A sky-covering barrage of magic slammed into the now-defenseless battle formation.

"Shield together!"

A roar rang out from within the battle formation.

Instantly, the general saw the ten-thousand-man formation merge their shields.

All shields locked tightly together, forming a single massive shield that blocked every spell from outside.

"Boom!"

At that moment, another forbidden spell descended from the sky, striking directly above the formation.

"Now you're finished!"

The general laughed heartily.

But his laughter died quickly.

For despite enduring so many spells, not a single soldier in the formation fell; after merging their shields, the formation advanced swiftly, reaching the base of the wall in moments.

Then, the warriors slammed violently against the city gate.

Even though the gate was forged from refined iron, it cracked open—swarms of warriors poured inside, slaughtering the defenders until they fled in terror.

The general atop the wall was utterly stunned!

"Hold the line! Drive them back!"

The Starfall Empire's defenders launched a frenzied counterattack and finally drove the formation out of the city.
