Chapter 367: All the way up the floor, slaughtering!

~10 min read 1,917 words

"What the hell, I'll just mess with you, what's it to you?!" The security team captain's eyes blazed with fire, he grabbed a rubber baton and swung it at Lin Yuan's head.

The wooden stick whooshed with wind, its force enough to knock someone senseless.

Lin Yuan had been prepared; he sidestepped, his right hand swiftly snatched the hot pot bowl still steaming on the table, scooping up a full bowl of the scalding broth coated in red oil.

Before the security team captain could withdraw his move, Lin Yuan directly flung the scalding broth at his face.

"Sizzle—"

The scalding red oil splashed onto the skin, instantly forming red blisters.

The security team captain let out an anguished cry, his rubber baton clanged to the ground, he covered his face and jumped on the spot, sweat mixed with red oil seeping from between his fingers dripped down, his voice heart-rending.

"Ugh! My face!!"

Lin Yuan didn't stop; he stepped forward and kicked the security team captain in the gut. The man over two hundred pounds toppled backward like a torn sack, slamming into the hall's glass door with a dull "thud," and didn't get up for a while.

The other guards, seeing this, rolled up their sleeves and prepared to rush forward, some even wanting to pick up the sticks on the ground.

Lin Yuan quickly pulled out his phone, opened the video function, and said coldly: "Don't move. I'm here to collect the twenty million yuan in medicine fees that Gao De Pharmaceutical owes the Su Group; your boss is hiding, and now you still want to attack the creditor?"

He raised his phone, the camera swept over the scattered hot pot ingredients on the floor, the face‑covering, wailing security team captain, and finally settled on the front desk: "If I post this video online or give it to the media, do you think people will believe 'the creditor was beaten while collecting debt' or 'the indebted company is acting high‑handedly'?"

The guards' movements froze; they looked at each other, nobody daring to step forward.

They were just workers; it wasn't worth getting themselves involved in the company's debt.

If it were really recorded and posted online, losing their job would be minor; they might even have to take responsibility.

The few girls at the front desk had already turned pale with fright; their earlier mocking tone was gone.

One of the girls with a ponytail furtively tugged the sleeve of the nearest guard, lowering her voice to hint: "Don't make a move… he's recording; if this blows up, the company won't be able to explain it."

The front‑desk girl quietly moved to stand beside the guard closest to her, their shoulders almost touching, her voice lowered to a mosquito's hum.

"Let the brothers hold back, don't strike now."

Her fingertips fiddled with the plastic pattern on the edge of the front desk, her eyes darted over Lin Yuan's back, then quickly withdrew, afraid of being noticed.

"If we cause a scene in the building now, win or lose, it'll get out that our Gao De Group is bullying with power, and the company will have to bear responsibility—too costly."

The guard beside him frowned, moved his lips, and asked in an even lower voice: "Are we just supposed to swallow this anger? He just splashed the team leader…"

The ponytail girl shook her head, lifted her chin toward the building exit, her eyes holding a fierce intent.

"Wait until after work, wait for this bastard to leave the building premises, find a blind‑alley with no cameras, then take him out—by then who could prove it was us?"

The guard's eyes lit up; he quietly nodded, then nudged his colleague with his elbow, passing the message along.

Although Lin Yuan couldn't make out their exact words, seeing several people huddled together whispering and occasionally glancing his way, he instantly felt an added layer of vigilance.

He tightened his grip on the phone, subtly turned the camera toward the front desk, and recorded their little movements.

The guards stood around Lin Yuan for a while; seeing him still holding his phone firm, and recalling the front desk's remark about "we'll act after work," none dared step forward, they just stood there, full of resentment.

In the end, the guards had no choice but to withdraw.

Lin Yuan continued to eat his hot pot at a leisurely pace, the red‑oil‑coated beef rolls going into his mouth; the spiciness spread, oddly giving him more patience.

After putting the last piece of vegetable into the pot, he took out his phone, opened the food‑delivery app, selected a Starbucks Americano, and added the note: "Deliver to the Gao De Pharmaceutical lobby, look for Lin Yuan."

Half an hour later, the delivery worker entered the lobby holding a Starbucks bag and called out, "Mr. Lin Yuan's coffee," his voice especially noticeable in the quiet lobby.

The few girls at the front desk dared to be angry but not to speak.

Lin Yuan took the coffee, tore open the straw and inserted it, leaned back on the lobby sofa, sipping while scrolling through Gao De Pharmaceutical data on his phone, occasionally glancing up at the elevator entrance, his expression calm.

Time ticked by; the lobby clock pointed to 5:30 p. m., employees streamed out with their bags, glancing extra at Lin Yuan as they passed, but nobody dared to stop.

The security team captain glanced at the time, then at Lin Yuan still sipping coffee, finally couldn't hold back and stepped forward, his tone stiff: "Work's over, we need to clear the area—you should leave."

Lin Yuan set down his coffee cup, rose slowly, slipped his phone into his pocket, glanced again at the elevator entrance—still nothing.

"Gao Qiming still hasn't come out?" he asked.

The security team captain turned his face away: "The boss is on a business trip, he said he's not at the company, don't linger here."

Lin Yuan drew a deep breath, gave up—indeed he still hadn't managed to catch him.

He turned and walked toward the building exit; passing the front desk, he glanced at the girls still with their heads down, but said nothing.

Stepping out of the building, the evening breeze carried a hint of chill, brushing Lin Yuan's face.

Lin Yuan stopped walking, instinctively lifted his gaze to the building's top floor.

The sky had already darkened; most of the building's windows were black, except for a floor‑to‑ceiling window on the east side of the top floor that glowed warm yellow—light streaming through the glass revealed a vague silhouette swaying inside.

Lin Yuan furrowed his brows; when he'd come in the morning he had specifically looked up Gao De Pharmaceutical's floor layout—the entire top floor is the chairman's office, and that lit window is exactly where the chairman's office is!

In an instant his mind cleared: Gao Qiming never went on a trip; from morning till now he's been holed up in the top‑floor office, deliberately avoiding him!

The front desk's "the boss isn't here" and the guards' "he's on a business trip"—all lies!

Lin Yuan stared at that lit window for a few seconds, pulled out his phone, and snapped a photo of the light on the top floor.

At this moment, Lin Yuan was utterly furious!

Lin Yuan fixed his gaze on the lit top‑floor light, and the fire in his chest shot up with a "whoosh"!

He had waited from morning till evening, endured the front desk's mockery and the guards' threats, all while Gao Qiming hid in his office pretending to be absent, just toying with him!

Lin Yuan turned and charged back into the building; the guard at the entrance just reached out to block him, Lin Yuan sidestepped, then lifted his leg, driving his knee into the guard's lower abdomen!

That guard cried out "ouch!" and bent over; Lin Yuan kicked him again, sending him straight to sit on the ground.

Another guard bellowed, "Stop! What are you doing?! Our company's off‑hours, you dare to barge in? Are you looking to die?!"

That guard grabbed a rubber baton and swung it over!

Lin Yuan reached out and seized the baton's tip, yanked it back hard, throwing the guard off balance so he lunged forward, then Lin Yuan lifted his leg and kicked him in the lower back.

The guard slammed into the glass door with a "thud," slid to the floor, and lay still.

The remaining guards in the lobby, seeing this, surged forward again!

But a group of guards were successively kicked to the ground by Lin Yuan!

The front‑desk girls could only watch helplessly as Lin Yuan rushed into the building and pressed the elevator button.

The elevator doors slowly closed, Lin Yuan stared at the jumping floor numbers, his eyes icy cold!

Today I must make things clear with Gao Qiming; that twenty‑million debt can't just be dragged on.

With a "ding", the elevator reached the top floor.

As the door opened, I saw a sign reading "Chairman's Office" hanging at the end of the corridor, with a bodyguard standing by the doorway.

Seeing Lin Yuan rush over, the bodyguard reached out to block him, but Lin Yuan didn't waste words—he punched the bodyguard in the jaw, and the bodyguard grunted as he fell to the ground.

Lin Yuan walked to the office door, didn't knock, and kicked it!

With a "bang", the solid wood door was kicked off its hinges and lay askew to one side.

Inside the office, Gao Qiming sat in a leather executive chair, his left arm around the female secretary's waist, his right hand rubbing her chin; the secretary laughed wildly, the wine glass on the desk overturned, spilling wine across the floor.

The moment the door was kicked in, Gao Qiming's hand froze mid‑air; he was obviously startled!

The female secretary screamed, scrambled out of his embrace, frantically straightened her disheveled shirt collar, and hid behind the desk.

Gao Qiming stared for two seconds, then realized, his face instantly darkened, he slapped the desk and stood up: "Who the hell are you? Dare to barge into my office!"

Lin Yuan walked up to the desk, planted both hands on the edge, leaned in to stare at Gao Qiming, and curled his lip in a cold smirk: "Hah, Chairman Gao really puts on airs—seeing you is no easy feat."

"Who the hell are you?!" Gao Qiming snapped angrily!

"I'm Lin Yuan, deputy director of the Wind Control Department at Su Group; I've come today to discuss that twenty‑million medicine payment." Lin Yuan strode straight to the desk, pulled out a chair, and sat down.

He crossed his legs, the corner of his mouth curling in a cold sneer.

Lin Yuan's gaze swept over the female secretary hiding behind him, then returned to Gao Qiming, his tone thick with mockery: "But looking at your state, you're quite leisurely—hiding in the office playing with the female secretary, what refined taste."

Gao Qiming was struck where it hurt, his face flushing then paling as he pointed at Lin Yuan's nose and cursed: "You dare to break into my office? And hit my people?! Believe it or not, I'll make sure you don't leave this building!"

Hearing that, Lin Yuan smiled: "Whether I can leave this building or not doesn't matter, but that twenty‑million medicine debt owed to Su Group has to be paid, right? Paying debts is natural and proper, isn't it, Chairman Gao?"
