Chapter 420: Raze the bar to the ground!

~11 min read 2,125 words

Goddess Bar, in front of the bar counter.

Warm yellow light fell on, Lin Yuan pinched a pen between his fingertips, spread out the ledger, and was lowering his head to check this month's liquor revenue.

Two hurried figures stumbled in, they were the two young guards on duty at the entrance.

The two guards rushed straight to the counter, only coming to an abrupt stop in front of Lin Yuan, their voices trembling yet speaking extremely fast:

"Manager Lin! Something's wrong outside the bar! A large crowd has surrounded us, all wearing black suits, blocking the entrance and exit of our bar!"

"What?" Lin Yuan snapped the ledger shut.

Lin Yuan said nothing, pushed straight through the crowded crowd, and walked toward the bar's exterior……

……

The moment Lin Yuan pushed open the bar's glass door, a night wind carrying a sense of oppression swept over him.

He lifted his gaze, his pupils constricted slightly——

The street in front of the entrance was filled with black BMWs, their headlights blazing brightly, illuminating the whole bar entrance as if it were daytime.

Between the cars, densely packed stood men in black suits acting as enforcers, at least a hundred of them.

Each of these suit-clad members was tall, sleeves rolled up, revealing ferocious tattoos on their arms.

The sea of people formed a dark wall, tightly encircling the bar's entrance.

Lin Yuan stepped forward two paces, stood beside the guards, and blocked the bar door behind him.

He swept his gaze over the crowd before him, voice icy: "Which group are you from? Blocking my bar's entrance, what do you want?"

The crowd suddenly stirred——

The black-clad enforcers originally packed together, as if receiving a silent command, slowly retreated to both sides, opening a straight passage.

At the end of the passage stood a black Maybach more luxurious than the surrounding BMWs, its lights off yet exuding an invisible pressure.

The car door opened, a foot in polished black leather shoes touched the ground first.

Immediately after, a young man in a white suit stepped out slowly.

The suit's fabric looked expensive at a glance, shimmering with a fine sheen under the streetlights, the watch face visible at the cuff flashing tiny lights, forming a stark contrast with the rough appearance of the surrounding black‑suit enforcers.

He stood tall, his steps unhurried, each footfall seeming to tread on everyone's heartbeat; though he made no exaggerated gestures, he naturally exuded a superior, overbearing aura.

He stopped three steps in front of Lin Yuan, slightly raised his eyes, his gaze sweeping over Lin Yuan with a hint of scrutiny.

The white‑suit man's voice was not loud, yet carried a quiet quality: "You're Lin Yuan? You're younger than in the photo."

Lin Yuan returned his sharp gaze——

This person bore no outward arrogance, yet hid a deeper sense of oppression.

Lin Yuan nodded slowly, voice calm: "I'm Lin Yuan. Who are you?"

Upon hearing the reply, the young man's lips curled into an extremely faint arc, neither a smile nor a sneer.

The white‑suit man raised his hand, gently adjusting his suit collar, the motion elegant yet revealing undisguised arrogance:

"White Gold Han Group, Baihejie."

Lin Yuan heard those six words—"White Gold Han, Baihejie"—and his eyes narrowed instantly.

The Young Master of the White Gold Han Group—how could he not have heard that name?

Yudong, stammering in the interrogation room, had mentioned the name of White Gold Han……

This Young Master, born with a silver spoon in his mouth in a grey‑industry conglomerate, employed methods ruthless to the extreme.

"So it's the Young Master of the White Gold Han Group." Lin Yuan spoke slowly, his tone deep: "Young Master Bai, why have you brought so many people to surround my little bar at night?"

Baihejie hearing this, suddenly let out a low laugh, his voice quiet like night wind brushing leaves, carrying an indescribable chill.

He raised his hand to smooth his suit cuffs, moving slowly and deliberately: "Nothing much, really—I just heard Goddess Bar's business is good, so I, Mr. Bai, came especially tonight to have a drink and, by the way, make friends with Manager Lin, okay?"

Lin Yuan narrowed his eyes: "Coming for a drink doesn't require bringing this many people; it's easy to cause misunderstanding."

Baihejie stepped forward half a pace, the distance between them shrinking to less than two meters.

Baihejie's smile deepened: "I just like crowds and liveliness. How come, Manager Lin, you don't welcome me? Or do you think I, Baihejie, am not worthy to enter your Goddess Bar for a drink?"

Upon hearing that, Lin Yuan's mouth curled into a cold smile.

"Drinking is fine, certainly welcome."

"But there's no need to bring so many people, right?"

"Your people are blocking my door, hindering my business."

His voice wasn't loud, yet carried an unquestionable firmness; his gaze swept over the black‑clad enforcers behind Baihejie without a hint of evasion.

"Drinking is fine—have your people withdraw."

Lin Yuan delivered those words bluntly, leaving no room for negotiation.

Baihejie hearing this, the smile on his face faded instantly, his eyes turning more sinister; he snorted, his voice full of arrogance:

"What if they don't withdraw?"

Lin Yuan wasted no more words, shifted his foot slightly, stepped forward, bringing himself closer to Baihejie.

Lin Yuan's right hand shot up, palm open, a dozen or so silver‑glinting silver needles neatly held between his fingers, flashing cold light under the streetlamp.

"Then I'll have to ask them to leave myself."

Lin Yuan's voice lost its earlier calm, gaining sharpness; the silver needles at his fingertips trembled slightly, clearly ready for action.

The wind at the entrance seemed a bit colder, fluttering the white suit's hem on Baihejie slightly.

The bar's guards at the entrance wore solemn expressions!

Seeing the silver needles in Lin Yuan's hand, they instinctively held their breath; they knew Manager Lin had martial skill, but had never seen him poised like this.

Baihejie's gaze fell on the silver needles in Lin Yuan's palm; his pupils contracted slightly, then returned to their arrogant expression.

He hadn't expected Lin Yuan to dare meet him head‑on.

Baihejie's eyes narrowed suddenly; his arrogant expression gained a hint of scrutiny, then he broke into a grin.

Baihejie's tone carried a hint of amusement: "I've long heard that Manager Lin's concealed-weapon technique is superb; seeing it today, it truly lives up to its reputation. Quite interesting."

Baihejie suddenly raised his hand, gesturing to the thugs behind him, and his voice turned stern abruptly.

"All of you, fall back! Wait at the street corner 500 meters away; without my order, no one is to come forward!"

The black-clad thugs, hearing this, hesitated not at all and all got into the vehicles.

Lines of vehicles retreated toward the street corner.

Baihejie turned his head to look at Lin Yuan, the smile still on his lips but less of the previous sinister edge: "Now, Manager Lin, you ought to welcome me in for a drink, right?"

Lin Yuan gazed at the empty doorway, then at Baihejie before him, and without changing expression put away the Silver Needle in his palm, his fingertips lightly clenching inside his pocket.

Lin Yuan stepped aside to clear the passage: "Please come in."

……

The two entered the bar, Baihejie casually sat down at a booth and ordered the most expensive God Dragon Set.

"Manager Lin, come sit down and have a drink with me. This is practically our first meeting; let's make friends." Baihejie said with a smile.

Lin Yuan sat down slowly opposite the booth, reaching out to lift the whiskey glass before him.

The ice beads on the cup's side slid down, dripping onto the tabletop and leaving a small wet mark.

"Young Master Bai, speak plainly."

"What exactly do you want by coming here tonight?"

"I don't like beating around the bush."

Lin Yuan's voice was calm, his gaze fixed on the hand Baihejie held the glass with, without any flinching.

Baihejie heard this, let out a low chuckle, and his shoulders gave a slight shake.

He raised the glass, took a light sip of the amber liquor, and the tip of his tongue brushed his lower lip.

As he set the glass down, the base made a soft click against the tabletop.

"The deputy director of the Housing Bureau, Yudong, was arrested by the Criminal Investigation Team of the City Public Security Bureau."

"Was it you who did this?"

Baihejie's tone was light, yet carried an unmistakable scrutiny, his eyes locked firmly on Lin Yuan.

Lin Yuan showed no hesitation, giving a slight nod.

"Yes."

Baihejie's face instantly darkened, his grip on the glass tightening slightly, his knuckles whitening.

"Do you know Yudong, and also the chairman of Fulong Real Estate, Yu Zhong Fu?"

Those two brothers are my people from Bai Jin Han!

If you dare move my Bai Jin Han people, are you looking to go to war with my Bai Jin Han?

His voice was no longer flat, carrying obvious anger, and the sinister glint in his eyes nearly spilled over.

Lin Yuan's hand holding the glass didn't move, still keeping calm: "I don't mean that."

"It's just that they provoked me first; I was merely following proper procedure."

Baihejie stared at Lin Yuan for a few seconds, then let out a low laugh, though there was not a hint of warmth in it.

"Lin Yuan, do you want to be my friend or my enemy?"

He leaned forward slightly, his gaze oppressive, waiting for Lin Yuan's answer.

Lin Yuan lifted his eyes to meet his gaze and countered: "What's the difference?"

Baihejie said slowly:

"If you want to be my friend,"

"then, help me with a favor."

"I don't care what method you use, get Yudong and Yu Zhong Fu released."

Lin Yuan took a sip of alcohol, the corner of his mouth curling into a cold smile.

Lin Yuan suddenly said, "What if I don't want to be your friend?"

Baihejie's smile vanished instantly, his eyes coldly fixed on Lin Yuan.

The air around the booth seemed to solidify, the atmosphere so oppressive it made breathing difficult.

Behind the bar, Yu Meng clenched the corner of her clothing, not daring to breathe.

Baihejie fell silent for a few seconds, then suddenly laughed, though his smile was full of ruthlessness.

"If you choose to be my enemy, then it's even simpler."

"Tonight, I will raze your bar to the ground."

Baihejie's fingertips lightly tapped the tabletop, then he suddenly spoke.

"Outside the bar now, bulldozers should already have appeared!"

His tone was full of certainty, his eyes brimming with the arrogance of total control.

As his words fell, Baihejie pulled out his phone from the inner pocket of his suit.

The screen lit up; he adeptly opened the photo album and turned the phone screen toward Lin Yuan.

In the photo was exactly the scene at the entrance of the Goddess Bar.

At that moment, on the open space before the entrance, four heavy excavators and bulldozers were parked.

Their massive bodies, in the night, resembled crouching beasts, exuding a cold pressure.

Lin Yuan's gaze fell on the photo, his fingertips tightening imperceptibly.

Baihejie put the phone back, slipped it into his pocket, and curled the corner of his mouth into a cold smile.

"With a single command from me, the bar will be leveled to the ground."

His voice was very soft, yet like a heavy hammer striking the air, making the surrounding atmosphere feel even more oppressive.

Lin Yuan's mouth corner curled into a cold smile.

"Yudong and Yu Zhong Fu are law-breaking criminals."

"They were arrested by the Public Security Bureau; they got what they deserved."

"As for the people, I cannot let them go."

"I also have no right to release them."

Lin Yuan's voice resonated firmly, his eyes full of unshakable resolve.

"Their fate will be decided by law."

Baihejie also let out a cold laugh after hearing that, his fingertips lightly tapping the tabletop.

"Then there's nothing left to discuss?"

Baihejie's tone had lost its earlier playfulness, gaining a chill.

Lin Yuan lifted his gaze to him, his tone calm yet indisputable.

"I welcome drinking."

"Talking about conditions? Sorry, there's nothing to discuss."

Clang!

Baihejie clenched his hand hard, and the glass in his hand instantly shattered.

The shards slipped through his fingers, some cutting his palm and oozing fine beads of blood.

Baihejie, however, seemed not to feel the pain.

He laughed ferociously, with a hint of playfulness.

Baihejie picked up the phone on the table, his fingertips swiftly pressing the call button.

After the call connected, he issued a solemn command into the phone:

"Let the bulldozers move in!"
