Chapter 26: A Guild Is Where Companions Gather

Mo En couldn’t help but chuckle—a “daughter of the dragon” searching for her mother, and a “rich boy” who couldn’t make friends, appearing together in a dangerous forest; what a strange pair.

“Mo En, Mo En Dolea, a mage of Fairy Tail.”

After answering, Mo En slung his pack over his shoulder and turned away—he had his own matters to attend to, no time to waste with these two children.

“Woo~ Fairy Tail? What’s that?”

After Mo En left, Wendy slowly woke up.

She half-remembered Mo En’s words, watching the receding figure, and asked the boy beside her.

“Fairy Tail is a guild.”

Jellal spoke slowly, his expression complex.

“A guild? What’s that?”

Wendy rubbed her eyes, her gaze filled with confusion.

“A guild is a place where companions gather.”

Jellal steadied his emotions and told Wendy.

“Then Jellal, I want to join a guild too—can I? Will I not be alone anymore then?”

Hearing Jellal’s words, Wendy’s eyes lit up instantly, filled with hope and eager anticipation.

“Yes, I’ll take Itachi to find a guild.”

Wendy’s adorable expression brought a smile to Jellal’s face—he promised her he’d help her find a guild.

It was perfect—he had dangerous business ahead, unsuitable for bringing Wendy along; finding her a suitable guild would be best.

At this thought, “Fairy Tail” immediately came to Jellal’s mind—but he’d failed to ask more carefully just now.

On the other side, after parting from Wendy and Jellal, Mo En occasionally thought of them, mostly Wendy—he felt certain she had some connection to Natsu.

Though Wendy said she didn’t know Natsu, and her mother was a “Sky Dragon” while Natsu’s father was a “Fire Dragon,” they seemed utterly unrelated, yet both went missing at nearly the same time, and both dragons vanished almost simultaneously—this was clearly abnormal.

“So there really are great dragons in this era.”

By now, Mo En had no choice but to believe it—could these two kids possibly be lying together?

“Dragon-Slaying Magic Crystals” forged from a great dragon’s heart proved that great dragons once existed in this world.

Yet the appearance of Natsu and Wendy, these two “children of great dragons,” clearly proved that great dragons still existed today—but these dragons seemed to have some odd habit: they liked adopting human children?

Mo En couldn’t figure it out—he thought he should’ve taken Wendy back to the guild.

Unfortunately, while with them, he’d been fixated on Jellal’s staff and completely forgot about the soundly sleeping Wendy.

“Crack!”

He pulled off another “magic horn” and tossed it into his pack, counting—he now had eighteen, close to his mission goal; then he could freely choose to continue or return.

As for chasing after Jellal and Wendy, with the map he’d given them, those two were surely far away by now—perhaps even out of the Vass Tree Sea; finding them wouldn’t be easy.

As Mo En regretted forgetting to invite Wendy to join the guild, the 【Saint Seiya System】 appeared at just the right moment.

“What? Buddy! Itachi didn’t trigger the mission when we met, but now that we’ve been apart for a while Itachi finally pop up? Lagging this hard? Switch your internet provider! Please!”

Looking at the mission, Mo En nearly rolled his eyes into the sky, mentally ranting—but his feet moved faithfully.

Mo En immediately turned around and dashed outward—Jellal and Wendy followed the route he drew; Wendy was a child, slow on foot—maybe he could catch up!

With his pack on his back, Mo En ran back while pondering the 【Saint Seiya System】’s nonsense—the mission details carried a lot of information.

First, the unfamiliar name “Mystogan”—he was clearly Jellal, since he was with Wendy.

“Why that name? A hidden true name?”

Mo En speculated—it was possible; traveling alone, adopting a pseudonym was normal.

Then, how could Mystogan and Wendy both be guild companions?

“Could they be future members?”

Mo En continued speculating—this was the only possibility; given their ages, if they’d ever been members of “Fairy Tail” before, he would’ve known them.

“Then again, the system might just be babbling.”

He stopped overthinking the mission content and focused instead on the rewards—two rewards for one mission!

And both rewards were excellent: Bronze Cloths were valuable, and the “Manual of Cloth Repair” was even better!

Though Cloths could self-repair inside their storage boxes, this only fixed minor damage—except for specific Cloths.

If a Cloth was severely damaged, specialized techniques were needed for repair—in the world of “Saint Seiya,” these techniques had nearly vanished with the destruction of Mu Continent!

In this world, if a Cloth was badly damaged, Mo En had nowhere to get it repaired—but now, with this technique, he could repair them himself.

As for materials needed for repair, like Silver Star Sand, he actually had some—collected from random side missions given by the 【Saint Seiya System】 before; they’d come in handy later.

With excitement, Mo En charged forward—but even after leaving the Vass Tree Sea, he found neither Jellal nor Wendy.

“So I really did waste too much time?”

Standing at the edge of the tree sea, Mo En sighed—he’d encountered two more magic-horn lizards along the way and, out of principle, finished the task, delaying him slightly—but not by much; it wasn’t to blame.

Faced with this, Mo En didn’t give up—he decided to search further outward; maybe he’d still find them. He refused to believe Jellal and Wendy could move that fast!
