Chapter 329: The End of the Universe
"Protocol rewrite complete. The 'Universe Guardian' module has been reloaded as 'Realm of Rebirth · Law Inspector.' Standing by, awaiting administrator commands."
The cold will was no longer a warning, but a standard system prompt that sounded in the depths of Wang Zhitao's consciousness, then fell silent.
Wang Zhitao's will avatar sat on the Creator's Throne, without even changing posture.
Done.
A universe-grade antivirus program, just like that, cracked by him into his own personal firewall.
"Brother… my tooth… my tooth still hurts…"
Wang Zhitao covered his face, floating over with teary eyes, mumbling indistinctly. That last bite had genuinely hurt him — the Chaos Devourer's teeth had met their Waterloo for the first time.
Wang Zhitao pointed casually, and a soft light transformed from the Source of Creation slipped into Wang Zhitao's mouth, repairing his damaged conceptual teeth.
"Check the ingredients before you eat. Don't chew on firewalls next time."
After dealing with his younger brother's "workplace injury," his consciousness did not withdraw.
Having subdued the "Universe Guardian," all permissions of the entire old universe held no more secrets for him. His will spread like an endless tide in every direction, past newborn galaxies, through dead ruins, sweeping over ancient civilizations that trembled and had not yet joined the alliance.
He wanted to see where the boundary of this "fish pond" truly lay.
Soon, he "touched" a region utterly different from the rest.
There were no stars, no light, not even void.
An "edge zone" where chaos and nothingness were inextricably tangled.
Matter lost its meaning here, energy fell dead silent here. Time curled into a single point here, space infinitely collapsed here.
This was the endpoint of the universe.
The last page of this world's "book."
Amidst this ultimate chaos, a door stood silently.
It was too large — so large that galaxies were but dust before it. It was forged entirely from an unanalyzable grayish-black stone, covered in twisted, bizarre patterns that belonged to no known civilization.
It simply stood there, its very existence representing a kind of "absolute" that transcended all laws of the current universe.
Wang Zhitao's will avatar instantly descended before the stone door.
He reached out to touch the door. What came from his fingertips was not a sensation of cold or hardness, but a pure concept of "Termination."
The patterns on the door were not carvings, but "signatures" imprinted by some higher-dimensional existence using traces of its own being.
"Interesting."
Wang Zhitao's permissions encountered resistance here for the first time. He could define everything within the universe, but this door seemed to have half its "body" outside the universe, making it impossible for him to fully analyze.
Just then, Wang Zhitao behind him felt the toothache vanish in an instant, replaced by an unprecedented exhilaration.
His nose twitched frantically, drool stretching into threads from the corners of his mouth.
"Brother! Brother!"
Wang Zhitao bounced up excitedly, pointing at the enormous stone door.
"It smells good! So good! Ten thousand times better than that dark and grimy old Demon Ancestor!"
His instincts, his hunger born of chaos, were screaming madly. Behind the door was the most top-tier "ingredient" he had ever perceived since his birth!
Wang Zhitao ignored him. His analysis had already reached the core of the stone door.
He "saw" a blurred scene beyond the door.
It was a world impossible to describe in words. No heaven and earth, no up and down — only endlessly churning, more primordial, more violent chaos energy.
Within that chaos, shadows of unimaginable enormity rose and sank, roamed and drifted.
Every shadow radiated an antiquity and terror that made even him feel a palpitation of the heart.
Just as Wang Zhitao tried to see more clearly.
A low, hoarse whisper, as if waking from billions of years of slumber, pierced through the stone door, ignoring all law barriers of the Realm of Rebirth, and sounded directly in the deepest reaches of his origin consciousness.
"Newborn god…"
"You will eventually return."
Wang Zhitao's will avatar jolted violently.
Not because of the power's might, but because of that word.
Return?
He had gone from an ordinary person on Earth all the way to becoming a God of Creation — and this was called "returning"?
The information contained in that whisper, and that ancient aura which surpassed the Father of the Void and the Chaos Demon Ancestor he had devoured, gave him, for the first time, a premonition of losing control.
The things behind the door were not the "universe viruses" or "system bugs" of his understanding.
They… seemed to know "himself."
Realm of Rebirth, Tower of Order.
On the massive Light Screen before Li Hu and Zhang Mei, the region representing the boundary of the universe suddenly erupted with an unanalyzable deep-crimson Alert representing "absolute unknown."
"Alert! Unknown concept fluctuations detected that exceed the upper limit of current universal laws!"
"Source: Beyond the cosmic barrier."
"Threat level: Unassessable!"
Li Hu's back was instantly drenched in cold sweat. He now commanded a Breaker Legion capable of easily formatting an entire star region, but seeing this Alert, he felt only a smallness that came from the very soul.
"The… the boss… didn't stir up some new hornet's nest again, did he?" Zhang Mei's voice was a little dry.
Li Hu gave a wry smile.
"Knowing the boss, he probably isn't just stirring up a hornet's nest — he's probably trying to cart off the entire hive and hang it on the official website of our 'Realm of Rebirth' to see if it can attract investment."
The end of the universe, before the stone door.
Wang Zhitao snapped out of his brief contemplation, his playful expression returning to his face.
The unknown?
Out of control?
Isn't that exactly the point?
A stagnant fishpond—what fun is that?
He was going to dynamite the fish!
He slowly raised his hand toward the colossal stone gate that had stood since primordial times, and issued a new command.
"I define."
"'The Final Gate,' renamed 'Newborn Realm · Exploration Beacon No. 0.'"
"The world beyond the gate, renamed 'Newborn Realm · New Era Resource Zone.'"
"All unknown threats, uniformly defined as 'High-Value Recoverable Resource Packs.'"
He had made up his mind.
He would go in and see for himself.
To see what secrets those old antiques calling themselves "Great Old Ones" were truly hiding.
And to see what this so-called "return" was really all about.
"Xiao Tao."
"Right here, bro!" Wang Zhitao had already transformed into a towering Chaos behemoth, drooling madly at the stone gate, looking as though he were ready to dig in at any moment.
"Let's go. I'm taking you out for a good meal."
Wang Zhize's avatar of will turned into a streak of light and merged into Wang Zhitao's brow.
Every living being in the Newborn Realm, from mortals to gods, sensed something in that moment. They all raised their heads to look up at the sky, as if they could see their creator god about to set out on an entirely new journey.
Their god was going forth to claim vaster territories for this newborn universe.
"Roar—!"
Granted permission, Wang Zhitao let out a roar that shook the Chaos itself. His enormous body, brimming with unparalleled excitement and hunger, charged headfirst into that ancient and mysterious stone gate!
There was no earth-shattering collision.
The behemoth's form silently merged into the stone gate and vanished without a trace.
The stone gate still stood quietly at the edge of the universe, only the twisted patterns on its surface seemed to glow brighter for an instant.
Beyond the gate lay a brand-new, even more insane world.
But to Wang Zhitao, it was simply a fresh menu covered in dish names.
