Chapter 297: Stockton is the point guard who knows how to play pick-and-roll best in the world

Paul's confidence shouting made Howard, Artest, and the others excited. Mighty, domineering, there is hope!

In contrast, Gasol has some characteristics of a reflection monster. After the meeting, he said to Kobe: "Boss, why do I always feel like we are the villains in the animation now? Will we not do many evils and die?"

Kobe glared at him angrily.

Said: "Chris is right. Normally, the Clippers have no conditions to defeat us. Don't belittle yourself."

Gasol thought about it, he always felt that Fan Xi was abnormal in his heart.

Fan Xi has been stepping on the ground since his debut, which can be described as advancing by leaps and bounds. Which undrafted rookie is as powerful as him? Which undrafted rookie won the Finals MVP in his rookie season? Which undrafted rookie became the team boss in his second year? The money to buy the team was given by female stars.

Pau Gasol has another point of worry, which is Nowitzki. He not only plays against Nowitzki in the NBA, but also plays against him when he returns to Europe. Germany's strength is not as good as Spain's, but he recognizes Nowitzki's personal ability. Not only recognizes it, but sometimes he has to be beaten up.

Moreover, if he has to vote for a softie between the two of them, Gasol will vote for himself.

Compared to the Lakers holding a big meeting in advance, the Clippers don't have similar activities. Fan Xi is not a person who is keen on releasing pressure. He is still actively making plans for the game.

Before the Spring Festival derby battle on the first day of the Lunar New Year, the Clippers have three games.

First, play an away game in Charlotte, then return to Los Angeles, play a game with the Timberwolves, and then the Dallas Mavericks.

These three opponents are actually not very good. Except for the Mavericks, which are slightly stronger, the other two teams are weak teams in the league.

Many experts are discussing there, saying that from the schedule, the Clippers are more favorable. Because the Lakers are three consecutive away games, playing the Hawks, Bulls, and Grizzlies.

Although the New Year battle has not yet arrived, people's focus has been focused on the two city teams.

This is a bad thing for many other teams. It's like the boss and the second child fighting, and the third child is gone. Coca-Cola and Pepsi fighting, other colas are gone.

Players from the Miami Heat, Chicago Bulls, and Oklahoma City Thunder obviously don't want this to happen, but they have no power to stop it. Traffic is always the winner takes all.

Nike is also doing marketing for the first forward recently, hyping Kevin Durant and LeBron James, and stirring up some water splashes. But compared to the Los Angeles derby, it is still a big gap.

Los Angeles has always been the focus of the media. Before, a role player of the Lakers would appear in the media more often than the second or third leaders in Milwaukee or Minnesota.

This is the reason why many superstars can't help but run to big cities.

The Lakers and Clippers are making a final sprint.

However, the way of sprinting is somewhat different.

Fan Xi is a person with a strong heart. He will not care about the gains and losses in front of him, nor will he care about the temporary praise and criticism in the media. He has always been the kind of person who achieves his goal in one battle.

Therefore, in the home game against the Charlotte Bobcats, Fan Xi and Nowitzki played pick-and-roll crazily. As long as they were on the court, they kept doing pick-and-roll experiments and let the team members join in.

This game was played very fragmented.

Although the Clippers finally won, they didn't win much, 5 points. Economic victory.

This disappointed some fans and also gave many critics more arguments to criticize the Clippers.

Even after the game, Bobcats boss Michael Jordan said pointedly in the media: "Jack shouldn't put his energy into things he is not good at. He can continue to trade. As a boss, he is a bit too kind. On the one hand, he wants all teammates to retain their characteristics, and on the other hand, he wants all players to join a system."

"He is not a god. Basketball itself is about trade-offs. Some players are suitable for triangle offense, some are suitable for U, some are suitable for run-and-gun, and some are suitable for pick-and-roll."

"Leonard in their team is very suitable for our Charlotte's playing style. Jack can trade with me. Or sending Jimmy Butler to the Bobcats is also a good thing. Jimmy looks so much like me."

"Listen to me, Jack, don't try pick-and-roll anymore. You will never become Stockton. You can reach a limit far beyond Stockton."

Michael Jordan talked eloquently.

He has been sitting at home watching this game. Looking at the elite soldiers under Fan Xi, Jordan is envious besides envious. He racked his brains to get one of Leonard or Butler, and he gave up because his draft vision was not good.

He also said to Fan Xi after the game: "I can trade with you with draft picks and cash."

Fan Xi politely declined this proposal. He knew that Leonard and Butler could continue to grow in the Clippers. Even if they were to be traded, it was not the time when their value was greatest, nor was it the best for their future.

Besides providing them with more ball rights, what else can the Bobcats do?

Fan Xi is not at ease.

He declined, and also asked Jordan: "What do you think of Kwame Brown recently?"

Kwame Brown is Jordan's eternal hatred. The biggest stain of this basketball god is his draft vision, and Kwame Brown is the biggest sharp weapon for the media to mock him.

But now, as Kwame Brown gradually plays efficient data in the Clippers, the title of 'water goods' is not mentioned by so many people.

Even the draft evaluation of Jordan has become a little better.

"Very good, he finally reached the level I expected back then. He has the ability to become an efficient blue-collar worker. I am proud of his performance." The basketball god also said such scene words.

However, Michael Jordan really wanted to cooperate with Fan Xi, and he talked to Fan Xi again: "Jack, your draft vision is indeed good. Look, I have draft picks, you have draft vision. Can you trade the rookies you selected to the Bobcats in the future? I will give you high-quality draft picks. This way you can build a super team with an extremely low salary level, and I can also improve the team's strength..."

Fan Xi didn't continue to discuss with Michael Jordan. He said to Jordan: "I don't participate in management. You have to ask Ku Pu Qie Ke about this kind of thing."

Fan Xi and the basketball god didn't continue to chat.

Then, the basketball god said those words in the media.

The words of the basketball god have an authoritative effect.

Caused a lot of media discussion.

And on the plane back to Los Angeles, head coach Mike Brown also specifically found Fan Xi and said: "Why don't we give up the pick-and-roll tactic? We can play triangle offense. Isn't Old Winter saying he is willing to join us as a consultant?"

Mike Brown has no talent on the offensive end, essentially he is a defensive coach.

Although he has won the best coach in his coaching career in Cleveland, essentially the tactics he created for the Cavaliers were just LeBron James with shooters, and those who grab rebounds and set screens.

Therefore, letting him manage such a luxurious offensive lineup of the Clippers is indeed powerless.

Purely a matter of ability.

Bill Simmons openly mocked Mike Brown in the media: "Mike Brown is the lowest-level chef. Even if you give him the best ingredients, he can't make a Michelin meal. He can at most cook the food."

Fan Xi thought about triangle offense.

For the Clippers, who have many scorers, this is the best solution.

However, the standard for basketball IQ for triangle offense is too high.

Fan Xi hopes to use the most basic tactics to connect all players first, form a tacit understanding, practice the basic skills well, and then pursue high-level skills.

"Let's try again, maybe it will work?"

Fan Xi persuaded Mike Brown.

The Clippers returned to Los Angeles. They will play two games with the Minnesota Timberwolves and the Dallas Mavericks on the 27th and 29th of the 12th lunar month.

The Clippers took a day off on New Year's Eve, and fought the Lakers on the first day of the Lunar New Year.

The heat of this game even burned crazily to Asia. For the Asian Confucian cultural circle, the Lunar New Year is the most important festival of the year. If you can watch such a wonderful game on the first day of the Lunar New Year, it is a happy thing for everyone.

"Jack, this game can only be won, not lost."

Although Lu Yuan didn't want to put more pressure on Fan Xi, he had to remind Fan Xi as an agent that whether the people of the whole country can have a happy and peaceful first day of the Lunar New Year depends on Fan Xi.

Artest is right. Chinese people attach great importance to the Spring Festival.

Fan Xi naturally knows this.

His parents called him to discuss it. Of course, on the phone, Fan's mother also said: "Yifei is really a good girl. Although she is a bit older than you, it's good to be older, she knows how to hurt people. Those girls you have abroad, I always feel unreliable. They don't adapt to our culture. They foreigners don't understand any etiquette. Look at how good Yifei is. She said she wants to come to our house to pay a New Year's call on the first day of the Lunar New Year..."

Uh...

Fan Xi didn't expect the progress of the relationship in the country to be so fast.

But in fact, the reason why the progress is so fast is because Liu Yifei became the spokesperson for the Fan-x brand in China.

This cooperation made many gossip fans in the country crazy.

It is considered a big gift package from the mother-in-law to the prospective daughter-in-law.

"Now fans across the country are looking forward to you taking down the Lakers for the second time!!"

Chen Ye also brought news from the country to Fan Xi.

In fact, not only the news from the country, but Los Angeles is also in a rhythm of wind and rain. Although this time the Lakers didn't show their teeth and claws like before the Christmas battle. Showing off their power in the media.

But the media inclined to the Lakers had already paved the way crazily, promoting that the giant Lakers would complete a beautiful revenge and step the Clippers under their feet.

And they also made various comparisons, wishing the whole world knew how powerful the Lakers were and how withered the Clippers were after getting Nowitzki.

Fan Xi is very calm.

He received a special guest in his house.

Stockton.

Stockton is not the first point guard in league history, but he is the point guard with the most assists in the league. If it is said that Magic has the 1001st passing method in the world, then he is proficient in the first 1000 ordinary passing methods.

His playing style is mediocre, even a bit dirty.

But no one can deny the energy of this white point guard who looks thin in positional warfare. Because his physical fitness is not outstanding, in most cases, he initiates attacks with pick-and-roll cover, and then accurately finds teammates in the position and passes the basketball.

The reason why the Mailman Malone was able to get the second highest score in NBA history is thanks to his passing.

Of course, he was able to get the most assists in history, also because Karl Malone's stable mid-range shot for twenty years.

Fan Xi found Stockton. Stockton was already a hermit-like figure. Unlike those legends who often run out to express their opinions after retirement, he was at peace. Even if someone said he was not as good as a certain point guard now, he turned a deaf ear.

However, when he received Fan Xi's sincere invitation, he came quickly.

Nothing else, his daughter is Fan Xi's fan.

And, he has watched Fan Xi's game.

"I am very strange, why is your passing in the paint so accurate, and it is very ordinary except for the paint. You are a very smart player. I watch your game and play decisively and fruitfully. Why don't you have that natural sense of smell when passing? In fact, passing is very simple. You just need to judge which teammate is in an advantageous position, and then send the basketball over, that's it."

"No fancy moves, no hidden techniques."

Stockton said to Fan Xi in Fan Xi's backyard.

He also pointed out to Fan Xi how to watch his own tapes: "Look, my speed is not as fast as yours, my inside offense is not as accurate as yours, and I don't even have your three-point shooting outside the three-point line. But as long as I pass the pick-and-roll, the opponent defends small with big, they will be afraid of me..."

"Is it because they are worried that you will use your elbow to elbow their eggs?" Chen Ye on the side didn't miss the opportunity to complain.

Stockton glared at this disobedient guy.

He continued: "It's because they know my power, afraid that I will steal their back door. Just like playing Texas Hold'em, you don't necessarily need a big hole card, as long as you have enough confidence to deter your opponent, they will throw the cards. NBA players are not as tough as you think."

Stockton conveyed his basketball philosophy.

But Fan Xi still felt... it needed practical operation.

After all, Chen Ye is right. Stockton's basketball thinking might be right, but he was too showy when operating. He was a weapon all over his body. He was rated as the dirtiest player in the league, and he won it consecutively. Can people not be afraid of you?

Even Laimbeer felt Stockton was dirty. How dirty must Stockton be?

Fan Xi didn't want to learn Stockton's dirtiness.

Therefore, he invited Stockton to the court to give personal guidance, practical guidance.

The Clippers immediately ushered in the game with the Timberwolves.

Interestingly, Magic Johnson also lurked to the Staples Center for this game. He was here to see the Clippers' latest tactics.

Know yourself and know the enemy.

And when he saw Stockton, he was shocked.

Terrible, is Jack going to learn from Stockton?

If he learns Stockton's skills, we might really be finished.

Stockton is the point guard who knows how to play pick-and-roll best in history!
